for the most part, snow makes things much much nicer.

AND: some sort of soup nazi esque place would be a superb addition to the greater st. louis area.

Five day weekend ... need I say more?

Monday, October 31, 2005

sooo this weekend was pretty eventful.

friday the cross country team had a pasta night in prep for the sectionals meet saturday.  those are always quite enjoyable.  then after that i made it to the football game at the end of the 3rd quarter and that is conveniently when they started to win.  so that worked out well.  it was sort of cold.

saturday was sectionals at cross country which was early ish in the morning.  two of our girls were in the top 30 so they qualified for state individually and then i got 37...  so it looked as though that was the end of the season.  on my way home they called me and told me that we qualified for state as a team by getting 4th place.  that was quite exciting.  when i got home i scurried to shower and pack as to get the minimal amount of points taken off of my grade for being late to the eco-act outing.

saturday-sunday at eco-act.  waaaaas not a horrible time or anything, just a waste of that time.  i got there just in time to have a pumpkin (punkin for cassie) carving marathon... after that we learned what we would be doing at the halloween village.  cassie and i got assigned to be the dancing ghosts in the graveyard.  and that is exactly what we did for 3.5 hours.  pretty much tiring.  these are basically the highlight quotes that cassie has already conveniently picked out.

"you guys need music really badly.  i mean really."
"you.re ugly"
"you.re weak, but you.re cute."
"oh god, you totally just nailed me with your ghost arm."
"wow, i feel really bad for you guys."
"'you can.t see their shadows because they.re ghosts.'  'then why do they have legs mom?'  'well, they haven.t fully crossed over yet'".
"do you guys have any rock + roll, or music that guys would like?"
"see, i told you i dance better to rock + roll."
"i have an idea; let.s have one person get under the other.  ready?  go."
"alrite guys, it.s nap time.  'oh, look how silly those ghosts are, they.re pretending to sleep' said the lady, but all we were thinking was, 'GHOST NAP'."
"cassie, i.m not gonna lie; i say 'i.m not gonna lie' all the time now."
"it.s a pottery barn pumpkin."
"yeah, i.m pretty much the master at oatmeal."
"kim doesn.t fit me.  kimberly is a big name for the big person inside of me."
"it.s been thirty minutes, i think it.s ghost nap time."

i think this is about long enough.  have a pleasant week.

this week has been going by pretty well.  meaning that i actually feel semi caught up in most of my classes.

cross country is kicking my ass being that apparently i still havent gained all my strength back from being sick.. bah

have to have a book read and a paper written about it by monday.  mind you im not even 1/4 into the book nor am i going to be home to read over the weekend. thank you eco-act.          fabulous.

other than that.  people seem happy ish right now.  which is pleasant.

quite the eventful day

- taking 4th graders on basically a nature hike while being sick/losing my voice  -- luckily cassie kept the rest of it semi entertaining.  + we got to leave at 1230ish and didnt have to go back to school so went to DQ.  mm.

-cross country meet.  'the man maker'   welll it was a freshman/sophomore race.. but we all ran and just didnt go through the finish line bc its the same course we run saturday.  wonderful.  still felt quite slugish.

-choir concert = not the most enjoyable thing w/ no voice.

history test friday will be the death of all of us.
