Trapped! :(
So, I really don’t like being trapped. Today I woke up to a phonecall telling me not
to drive an hour to get to clinic (hooray!).
I looked out the window and holy cow…it was snowing. Winter wonderland overnight, I suppose:
Then I fell back ashleep for 3 hours (whoops), and woke up
and it had finally stopped.

But NOW, it’s 3pm,
and our driveway *still* isn’t plowed, because according to my landlord, our
plowguy had *3* trucks break down on him and therefore cannot get to our
driveway. What the heck. This was one crazy snowstorm, I guess,
because our neighborhood streets are normally plowed by morning, and they
haven’t really been plowed either. As
evidenced by one of our neighbor that lives in a house next door who told me
when I went outside that she had tried to get out of her driveway…gotten stuck
at the mouth of our culdesac street, turned around and then promptly gotten
stuck in our driveway (orange car at the end of the driveway in the pic). I had gone outside to try to enlist the
snowplower doing the house on the other side to do our driveway, but he said
he’s owned by that group home’s company, so his services weren’t for sale. Booo. I
dunno how Lauren’s gonna park when she gets home after work…

Yay for rainboots that kept my feet dry. :) Although the bottom of my pants (tucked into
the boots) still got frosted with snow walking through the drifts.

I bet the streets are going to be cleared by
tomorrow morning though, so I guess our Saturday 7:30am
lecture won’t be cancelled…dangit. I don’t really have too much to complain though. I’m home in my sweats, reading xangas instead
of studying, drinking my Vietnamese coffee mix, and listening to Christmas tunes. :) *Addendum: I escaped for a lil while with my knight in blue mini-van to Walmart, hooray! Upon arriving home, the streets and the sidewalk in front of my apt were shoveled/plowed, hooray! We'll see tomorrow morning about the rest of the driveway...
