Here's the full update I said would be coming. Smile I safely arrived in Colorado early Wednesday (May 16th) morning after some flight delays. My luggage didn't follow me, so that added to the adventure...thankfully they found it and delivered it later Wednesday afternoon.

On Wednesday evening, I began staff training with 34 fellow staff members. We have a great crew with people from all over the US (even Alaska and Canada!). For three full days, we were in classes for most of the day learning all the ins and outs of being on staff. The ministry at Summit is truly amazing and I feel very privileged to be part of what God is doing out here. When we weren't in class (for just a few hours each day), we worked on getting the hotel ready for the students. We made beds, vacuumed floors, cleaned bathrooms, waxed floors, and made sure that everything was in tip top shape. Smile On Friday night we had a cook out at a local park and spent the evening playing sports of just hanging out. On Saturday night we had a bonfire and spent time singing and sharing. About 8 of us went for a hike in the dark and that was a lot of fun. Thankfully we didn't run into any bears. Smile

On Sunday (May 20th), 92 students arrived, so things are in full swing! For the next two weeks, they'll be making Summit their home as they receive some great worldview teaching from an amazing lineup of faculty. As staff we have the privilege of leading small groups 5 times throughout the students time here. I have 5 girls in my group (that I'm leading with one of the other staff members) and I'm honored to be able to be able to share in their lives.

My job at Summit is that of afternoon kitchen supervisor. I have 5 great people on my crew and they're doing a super job!! There's another supervisor (also named Heather Smile ) for the morning kitchen. We each have one day off a week, which is pretty nice. Smile Summit treats their staff very well and I would highly recommend them to anyone!

I'll hopefully be able to post a few pictures from the area before too long...it's absolutely beautiful out here!!

Thanks again to all of you who are praying for me - I really appreciate it!!

I've arrived!

I'm on a short break and was able to snag a little internet time. Smile I have safely arrive in CO and am enjoying it so much already! It's going to be an amazing summer! Once things settle down a little bit next week, I'll post more details and maybe even a picture or two. Smile I've got to scoot for now...almost supper time.

My first entry!

In just 5 short weeks, I will be heading out and will call CO home until the beginning of September. Here are a couple of pictures of the area where I'll be. I'm sure that there will be many more while I'm there. Smile I had the opportunity to spend a little time out there this weekend and it's a beautiful part of the country...
