MIT Open CoursewareHoly cow. 1800 courses. Both graduate and undergraduate studies. =O. This reeks of pure win. I should totally not go to college, save the money, take a bunch of these courses, and establish some entrepreneurial business and die bankrupt at 35. WOOHOO.
Interesting stuff:
There's a huge variety of architecture courses o.o haha oh man. I remember when I was little... like 5th grade, 6th grade ish? I dreamt of becoming an architect... interesting stuff. I think it's cool how in professions like these, form and function and efficiency and simplicity (or flamboyance) all intermingle to produce a perfect end product.
There's a whole section for the brain and cognitive sciences o.o wow.
CMS.600/CMS.998 Videogame Theory and Analysis - LOL.
Earth, Atmospheric, and Planetary Sciences; sweeeeeeet.
6.099 Street-Fighting Mathematics - the name is quite interesting to say the least, but the course content actually sounds pretty cool.
18.376J Wave Propagation - An entire class devoted to how waves propagate. O_O; holy crap.
Now moreso for my own referernce (so I don't have to go through that entire course list again >_>)...
Stuff I might actually look into:
21F.101 Chinese I (Regular) - Considering that I'm aznphail, this wouldn't be a bad start.
7.30J Fundamentals of Ecology - Good review much? There doesn't seem to be much in the way of ecological studies though :/. I dug up a few others below.
1.020 Ecology II: Engineering for Sustainability - A bit specific in range, but hm.
12.517 Dynamics of Complex Systems: Complexity in Ecology - Now this might actually be useful. I need to learn all my formulas and delve more into ecology, modeling it, etc...
12.007 Geobiology - Seems like it might cover some good stuff too?
12.109 Petrology - Hmm probably too advanced >_< but the stuff covered seems really useful to understanding geology on a microscopic level.
12.490 Advanced Igneous Petrology - Now that's the stuff. Interestingly, I was googling pillow basalt when I found this mirrored on a Chinese website, and from there I found the real website. Probably also too advanced (lol as stated in the title) >_< but I've got to get these minerals down.
12.510 Introduction to Seismology - PERFECT. Except it looks like it goes into a lot of math ._. and I'll probably have to cower in fear of advanced stuffies.
12.520 Geodynamics - Excellent. Also seems advanced but I think at least introductory material will be good.
12.570 Seminar in Geophysics: Mantle Convection - Hmm.
There's a lot of other cool stuff too (meteorology, oceanography, economics, biology, literature) but there just ain't enough time to look through it all haha. Interestingly there seems to be nothing on glaciers :[ boo haha. Holy crap this stuff is awesome. Now if only I could osmosisfy all this information in time for Scioly tryouts.
Something else I also forgot to post - I love used bookstores :). I picked up six more books from the Friends of the Yorba Linda Library place just off Imperial. Perrrrfect. A great bargain at like $4.50 or something.
Anyhow, it's hard to believe two weeks of summer are already up. I'm glad I'm not doing Elite :) haha (good luck to everyone who is slogging through their work there >_<). I also got back into playing AirRivals lol (AirRivals being basically a repackaged Space Cowboys Online). I've grinded up to level 20 over two days, which ain't too bad, though the grind is getting a bit repetitive.
And back to work.
