After my initial post I planned to
stay out of this as I'm seeing one very clear problem here...

Although we can tout our own beliefs and try to explain them to those
who oppose - those who are not thinking clearly and feel they can
make an instantaneous vote because someone called one candidate a bad
name or because they believe God could NEVER EVER use a wife and
mother in an important role - will never understand. We are creating
flames and heat when there is no one who will warm up to what we have
to say.

I think we should all simmer down here - when someone is 'strongly
encouraged' to look at their personal opinion (ie: Obama supporters)
based on what others are saying (McCain supporters), usually the
opinion becomes something so dear that the person will defend it to
the end...even if they actually begin to see the light.
Ladies...instead of trying to shed light we are closing the curtains
even more I'm afraid.

Let's ease up here a bit and let everyone breathe. The election is
not for several more weeks and we can slow down and gather actual
FACT on the issue instead of our own opinions - I would love to see
actual information on both candidates. So far, although I am voting
for McCain-Palin and finally feel a peace about McCain being elected
BECAUSE of Palin, I have not seen anything ON OBAMA that supports
voting for him! Does anyone realize this??? Everything I hear is
negative, so I for one am having a difficult time trying to
understand why ANYONE would vote for him.

For those of you who are backing Obama, how about sending some info
our way on why we should consider him? We will not flame you - I will
hazard a promise of this and if anyone does, I will defend your right
to share your fact-based opinions. So, why does he carry your vote
and on what issues? Maybe this will help ALL of us understand each
other a little bit better.

Another heartfilled concern I have after reading the posts are the
mothers on this group who are so dead-set against God using a woman
in any role other than wife and mother. This really saddens me.

You use the Bible to show where women are not to be working outside
the home, and yet, there are sooooo many examples all throughout the
Bible where women DID work outside the home and God blessed them!!!
You ignore these or say they are not important or they are not 'real
jobs.'

Those of you who condemn women who work, you are limiting God in so
many ways - and yet at the same time you seek out females for roles
that make you more comfortable without batting an eye. You expect
them to be there when you need them, but turn around and condemn them
for the very things you have asked them to do for you. Hypocrisy is
often seen most in those who are the most judgemental.

As someone mentioned, midwives especially, but doctors, nurses,
speech therapists, teachers, judges and other important roles are
often filled by women. And we SEEK THEM OUT because we have something
in common - if you are so set against a woman working outside the
home, then look to the New Testament to Phoebe, Lydia and others who
did. God used them. God can use Palin - work is work, the job may be
different, but work is work. Even the Proverbs 31 woman woman worked
from dawn to dusk and OUTSIDE her home, she is revered because of her
willingness to WORK - her husband praised her because of her WORK and
her dear heart. It is when a woman has spiritual authority over a
man, that is when the line is crossed.

Palin is not a spiritual advisor - she is a politician, just like she
could have been a nurse, midwife, doctor, judge, teacher, grocery
clerk, street sweeper, newspaper delivery person or any other
profession. Were she trying to become a pastor, I would be as much
against her as I am for her running for the VP.

The only job or type of work she is not qualified for, as far as I
can Biblically see, is that of spiritual advisor to men.

In the Old Testament, look at the birth of Moses and what the
Israelites went thru at that time. Baby boys were to be murdered at
birth by the midwives - look deeper. Midwives were working outside
their homes delivering babies. I doubt they delivered babies without
being paid in some way, shape or form... Midwifery is a profession as
old as Genesis and no one has ever questioned it on this group to my
knowledge - in fact, God blessed the midwives for saving as many baby
boys as they could. He HONORED their work and effort. The VP is a
job - God can HONOR Palin for stepping forward into a difficult role
just like Hebrew midwives did. Being a mother is a job. Being a
Christian is a job. Being a teacher (homeschool or public) is a job.
Everything in life is a job.

And each of us has more than one job to fill - and we balance our
life and jobs just fine. Some do more than others, because they can
handle more and God has given them more. Don't condemn another person
because you can't fill their shoes!

Were it not for those "working women" who feared God more than man,
Moses may have been murdered as a newborn - God placed women in a
role that He knew was needed and for purposes He could see so well.
Exodus 1:20 "Therefore God dealt well with the midwives: and the
people multiplied, and waxed very mighty."

God 'dealt well' with the midwives - He was pleased with them. He did
not say they were wrong in WORKING outside their homes or to be
employed in a profession that meant they were WORKING women. He was
pleased with them...

God used Rahab to win a victory over a city that was considered
indefensible - God used a woman to help bring the walls of Jerico
down (she saved the Hebrew spies that were in the city - fearing God
more than man). And she was a PROSTITUTE! In the heirarchy of working
women, this is the absolute lowest you can get. Yet God honored her
role in Jerico's fall. Joshua 6:25 "And Joshua saved Rahab the harlot
alive, and her father's household, and all that she had: unto this
day; because she hid the messengers, which Joshua sent to spy out
Jerico."

Rahab stands out here because NO MAN stood forth to protect and hide
the Hebrew spies. Joshua 2:9 & 11 "And she said unto the men (Rahab
said to the spies), I know that the Lord hath given you the land, and
that your terror is upon us, and that all the inhabitants of the land
faint because of you...And as soon as we had heard these things, our
hearts did melt, neither did there remain any more courage in any
man, because of you: for the Lord your God, he is God in heaven
above, and in earth below."

Rahab is saying that although the MEN in her city were aware of what
was to come and were afraid, they did nothing. God used a woman's
heart and courage to help win the battle of Jerico - and God can use
a woman's heart and courage to rescue America. Rahab stepped in where
no man was willing to go.

Rahab was brought to the king of Jerico and told to bring any spies
to her home and alert the king so that he could capture and kill
them - Rahab was specifically sought out and called into this role.
But because of her belief in the God of heaven and earth, she instead
obeyed God and rescued the spies. Palin is not a career polititian -
she is a woman who has had her life manuvered in such a way that she
is in politics at 'this specific moment in time' to do what God has
called her to do.

Are there men stepping forward as candidates? Yes. Are they as
untainted, fresh and openly honest as Palin? No - they have well laid
out agenda's, Palin doesn't. Have their lives and careers been so
beautifully orchestrated and blessed that they have gone from a
nobody to a VP candidate in just a few short years? No. It is so
obvious that God is moving in Palin's life and providing her with
opportunities the other candidates have not been given - to vote for
someone who doesn't have a chance is to throw your vote away.

Voting your conscience is not the same as following where God leads
you - following your conscience can often be your own rebellion
because you want what YOU want. A child can be given brussel sprouts
to eat and he TRULY is following his conscience by REFUSING to eat
them, yet his parents know how healthy and good for him the brussel
sprouts may be... The child is voting is conscience, but is in
rebellion against what his authority knows is best for him. So if you
are voting your conscience - truly be aware of whether this is God's
doing, or your own rebellion wanting to have its way...

Especially when this woman has moved up in such a way that only God
alone could orchestrate and bless with such perfect timing and
peace...the birth of her tiny Down's son only a few months before she
was asked to be VP to me is also confirming in that God has placed
that child in her life 'at such a time' to be forefront in the eyes
of the American people and the world, as He moves in more ways than
we can even begin to imagine.

The same with her pregnant daughter - Palin is a living example of
her own faith, values and virtues. All of which have made her strong
and a woman of courage who can work to make change happen in a
society who believes unborn babies are disposable nusiances and those
with special needs should not see the light of day (as in aborting
instead of birthing them).

She has not ducked and cowed down in adversity like the media had
hoped, she has risen above it and she can help others to rise above
their circumstances too. She may not be the perfect role model (are
any of us???), but she's not asking to be either. She has shared her
family is not without it's own problems, but that through those
problems come blessings - oh sooooo true!!! EVERY family on MOMYS
knows this to be true of their own lives. Without the problems, we
can't enjoy the blessings as richly...

I see Palin with the same strength, courage and faith in God that the
Hebrew midwives and Rahab showed. No, she is not a midwife or a
prostitute :) But she is a woman among women. She has seen evil and
wrongdoing and hasn't just stood there waiting while no man stepped
forward - she did what she felt was necessary at the time and has
risen in power because of this. She has been faithful, and God has
rewarded her...and judgemental women condemn her for it.

Palin did not 'step out' looking to become a political figure - she
started out as a hockey mom and in the PTA - just like many on here
may do and be!!! Would she be condemned for being a hockey mom and on
the PTA because she was outside her home? If so, then you will need
to condemn many mothers on this group, in your church and in your
neighborhoods!

Her faith in God and doing what is right is greater than her fear of
doing nothing, and God is using her in a VERY mighty way... But women
who are inwardly jealous of her abilities to balance so much, or feel
she is sinning because she works out of the home are condemning her.
Had Rahab not stepped forward and hidden the Hebrew spies, they would
have been killed. Yes - God could and would have eventually won, but
this woman acted in faith and courage to do what no other man within
the city (even her own father and brothers!) were willing to do.

Not all hero's are men - many are women. Not a single hero is
sinless, perfect or what everyone would think they should be - in
fact if you look at any hero's life you will see many things you
disagree with or might even offend you. But their heroic deed does
not change.

Palin has been heroic in her efforts to oust political wrongdoing and
to forward an agenda that required her state to stand on it's own
financially and to do the morally right thing - if only such a
governor would present themselves in CA, we might get rid of our 9
billion dollar deficit instead of increasing it year by year!!!

This woman has shown BY EXAMPLE how to be responsible with her role
in office, unlike most of the male candidates and especially the
politicians who use the oval office as a brothel - she got rid of the
perks that came with her position and got rid of the political fiends
who preyed on Alaska's governmental money because she had the trust
of the Alaskan people do the responsible thing.

Her family cooks for themselves because she let go of the governor's
cook. She drives herself to work, she got rid of the cost of a
unnecessary driver. She sold the high priced jet used by governors in
Alaska because it was an extravagance that wasn't needed and gave the
money back to the state of Alaska and its people. She tried to bring
attention to her brother-in-law's supervisors, (he was in law
enforcement) that he had TASERED his 11 yr old son and was acting
irrationally!!!! She was concerned about his mental state and his
role in the community - she put no pressure on the supervisors but
repeatedly pointed particulars out to her BIL's supervisors
saying "watch him - be careful - he's unpredictable and potentially
dangerous" and now the media is trying to twist this into a
conspiracy to have her BIL fired. She did the appropriate thing just
as you or I would have done - she brought concerns to the people who
had authority to do something about it - she did not go out and
perpetrate vigilanty justice herself.

This is a woman among women who has the courage and faith to stand
morally upright and require those around her to stand up as well - no
slouchers allowed!

She openly admits she is not perfect and her family is not perfect -
and this is EXACTLY what we need to hear (and never do), because God
can use such a humble and open heart!!! This allows the ENTIRE nation
and world to see a Christian at their best - by acknowledging her
imperfections instead of covering them up or making excuses, by doing
the appropriate thing instead of what is the popular vote or what her
political party is backing, by having an open heart to help the
nation become more responsible instead of trying to 'fix it' all
herself.

For those who want to vote their conscience and vote for a third
party candidate or write their own name in - that's how Clinton was
elected and he turned the White House into a Whore House. Don't make
the same mistake twice - our children's futures are at stake here.
Obama is scarier than Clinton ever was. If God planned for any third
party candidate to win, we would see it happening - and it's not.

Wait til the last minute to decide if you must, but then look at the
candidate's chances and how God has moved Palin along so smoothly
when others have never really left the starting gate. Will you be
eating your brussel sprouts or acting in rebellion because you want
your own way?

I know flames will be coming my way after this post, but if they
didn't, I wouldn't have hit my mark. Whether you write or not, I hope
this causes many on here to think through and pray about in a deeper
way, their convictions and opinions. My goal in writing is not to
upset or anger you - but to challenge you to think, research and pour
over the Bible with open eyes to see that God CAN and HAS used women
all throughout history for His purpose. God did not write the Bible
for or about men only, He wrote for and about women too - and they
were not all stay-at-home mommies. Even the ever popular Proverbs 31
woman had businesses - ie: jobs.

Remember that saying, "Behind every good man, is a woman..." Well,
behind McCain sits a VERY good woman...

America's children are the future of this nation - who would you
trust with your precious God-given children? McCain-Palin or Obama-
The only thing I don't like is that she is a feminist and returned to work only 3 days after giving birth to her last child. I have no doubt that she is a good mom and loves her children, however, I simply cannot fathom leaving my 3 day old infant for any job.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DkRjBFneUAU
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kKnrGvIfC_A
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rVXlE-8oHvQ&feature=related
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TXfiOSCfY44&feature=related

I hate to even bring up anything negative because the prospect of a victory from McCain/Palin far exceeds the ruination of Obamanation and his Washington insider pick, Joe Biden. Anyone notice something here? McCain chose someone whose values and past performance fall into line with what he has promoted all along but Obama, in choosing a Washington insider, totally went against what he himself said he no longer wanted in Washington and that was "business as usual"?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dl32Y7wDVDs&feature=related
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4pO1dIKgfPw&feature=related
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PzFOOcEQtP0&feature=related
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NgXPVmlXKQI&feature=related

This just in....Dorelynn offers an Alaskan perspective on Sarah Palin.... very very informative.

Do you love taxes? He told her he would see to it that she gets the best of care and that she does not need to worry about the financial aspect of it because he has his resources and he will take care of it. WOW

Update as of 4:30 pm on April 24: Stacy just visited the oncologist. She is scheduled for surgery and a biopsy on her leg on Monday AM. She is scheduled on Weds. for a biopsy on her breast. The doctor said there is one type of bone cancer that is benign and yet still eats the bone. Please keep praying. Amen? Amen!

Update on April 28: Stacy had the biopsy surgery on her tibia today. The doctor says it appears to be lymphoma. She said the pathology will be back in about 48 hours. She also said lymphoma is the most treatable type of bone cancer. She said they will do a PET scan and some other tests to determine staging in the next week or so. She is in pain, but other than that she said she feels good.

Update on April 30: Stacy had her mammography today. She had a lump in each breast so they went ahead and did a biopsy. They said it is definitely NOT a cyst and it IS a mass. They did 2 biopsies... one to check for any type of cancer, etc like usual which will take 2 days to come back. They did one specifically for lymphoma, which will take about a week to come back. The pathology on her tibia was sent off to a specialist in Massachusetts, so we still don't have the results for that. Stacy is still taking very strong pain meds for her leg. She is quite numb emotionally and does not feel everything will really hit home til she starts treatments, etc.
Update on Tuesday, May 5: Got results of mammography and bone biopsy back. DX is B Cell Non Hodgkins Lymphoma.

Update on Wednesday, May 6: Went to Dr. Hollen. He said it is Diffuse, Large B Cell NHL. He said diet does not matter, to eat whatever she wants. Six courses of chemo starts Monday. Then radiation. Then possibly a stem cell transplant. I am praying for wisdom on the part of the physician. I don't see how diet cannot matter when a person's immune system needs to be as strong as possible to fight a serious disease. If I could question this doctor, I would put him through the ringer over that one. I love them and support them, no matter what and Stacy does seem to be concerned about this aspect of her care anyway. We all want her to have the BEST chance at survival and I totally question the wisdom of this advice. I only care about this issue because I care about Stacy. I prayed this doctor would not be ignorant concerning nutritional issues. I pray God will bring along someone who has been through lymphoma and did better on the treatments and with surviving as a result of something they could control like their diet, so she will have someone with first hand experience to talk with.

Stacy graduated Tuesday night with her AA in early childhood development. Congrats Sis!

My brother had a graduation party Friday night for Stacy. We went down to the city to celebrate with them and had a nice time. We got home around 1:30 am.

Mom and dad arrived this past Thursday. Dad left Saturday morning. He and mom had already painted Stacy's room she will be staying in during her illness. My Uncle Randy brought the craft-o-matic bed down so they are setting up the guest room with the special bed for Stacy, then whomever is there caring for her can sleep in the king size bed in the master bedroom and have their own bathroom.

I believe her last chemo treatment will be in September. Then she will have radiation and possibly the stem cell transplant. She will also have to have the reconstruction surgery on her leg after the chemo and everything. She will have a 6 week recouperation period on the surgery which will require her to keep her leg straight up for that 6 weeks. They are in a for a long haul. We are looking at a minimum of 8 months to remission/cure and leg healed. My brother is having to miss a lot of work and of course stacy is too. If you are interested in helping them out financially, you can donate through their church at Sunnylane Free Will Baptist to make the gift tax deductible. I will be getting more information on that soon.

Monday, May 12, 2008: Stacy had her first chemo treatment. Her hair is starting to fall out, she has had a bit of nausea and weakness. Other than that, she is doing good so far.

Tuesday, May 20, 2008: Stacy went to the American Cancer Society and got a free wig, a couple of hats and bandana type thing.

Stacy had her second chemo treatment around the 1st of June and it made her a bit weak and very fatigued.

Monday, June 23, 2008: Stacy had her third chemo treatment. This one caused vomiting and fatigue. They infused a bit faster than they had the previous 2 times so this may have contributed to the nausea.

She goes for a CAT scan on July 1 or 2 to see if the tumors are shrinking as a result of the first 3 treatments.

Her spirits are still up despite the fatigue she feels. Her white blood cell counts have been somewhat low. Please continue to keep her in prayer.

Stacy had a CAT scan last week and I still need to call my brother for the full scoop on the results. I will post more as soon as I talk to him.

July 24, 2008 - Spoke to Joe today. Stacy's CAT scan did not really tell them a whole lot because they had not done a preliminary CAT scan to compare this one with. However, she did have an ultrasound of the tumors in the breast at the beginning so they are supposed to do another ultrasound to find out how much change has taken place. Stacy continues to work and feel fairly well despite her knee and the fatigue from the medications.

Sept. 1, 2008
Stacy had her 6th chemo treatment this past week. She has a CAT scan and mammogram tomorrow and will get the results Weds. Further treatment protocol will be decided based on the results of those tests. I saw her Saturday and I was amazed that she still has a lot of her hair. Enough that she is not needing to wear a wig at this point. :)

Stacy and her family. One has tight curly hair and one has loose curly to wavy hair. Currently, they both have hair that is about shoulder length and it is cut in layers at the bottom only. My stylist said if you cut layers up into the hair, it will cause more poof and frizz because by layering the bottom only, the hair still weighs down the hair on top.

She then recommended that when they shower, they first shampoo then use conditioner with a pick or widetooth comb. They should comb the conditioner throughout their hair well, then rinse. Then when they get out, they should pat it dry and not rub it dry.

When they get out we use some leave in conditioner, once again recommended by our stylist. It was only 8.99 a gallon at Sally Beauty Supply. We bought a smaller pump bottle to mix it in. It is actually real conditioner, but when mixed with water which we use about (3/4 conditioner and about 1/4 part water), it becomes a wonderful and inexpensive leave in conditioner. We get the honey/almond which is what our stylist recommended and it smells like some of the more expensive products. Here is a link to what we buy: Honey Almond Conditioner at Sally Beauty Supply. I only use the comb to tame the top of their hair and a little bit throughout the rest and then use my fingers to "straighten" and form the rest. We do not use a comb the rest of the day and NEVER a brush.

Our stylist explained that water is the curly head's friend. Water mixed with plenty of conditioner holds the moisture in and prevents frizz. My girl's hair is looking absolutely beautiful since I started following these recommendations. I can condition it, tousle it and forget it for the day because it just looks gorgeous and non frizzy all day. I would love to have hair like that!

As a side note: both my stylist and myself have bi-racial girls.... but she said it does not really matter if the hair is course, fine, African-American, Hispanic, Indian, Asian, White or whatever... Her girls' hair is a bit courser than my girls' but curly hair needs moisture to maintain that "cute" wet look and no frizz all day, regardless of texture, race or ethnicity. I have been so pleased with the results... LOL I actually just look at their hair throughout the day and think "that looks soooo good" and then pat myself on the back ...oh and my stylist. ;)

Here is the back of B's hair and you can see A in the red shirt. B is the one with loose curly/wavy hair.
Please read here.

The FDA is reporting at least 9000 "bad health events" following the vaccination. They also report 18 deaths, 78 cases of genital wart break out and 6 cases of Guillian Barre Syndrome. These are only the ones they ADMIT to as being directly connected to the vax. Those of us who have studied the vaccination issue for years realize that there have probably been many MORE events which were attributed to some other cause.

How many girls have to get sick, die and become injured before Merck admits their greedy error and takes this ridiculous vaccine off of the market? Oh... wait! I know! They have to finish using up the current supply at the very minimum. After all, they would not want to lose money when lives are on the line now would they?

The entire premise of giving this vaccine to girls as young as 11 or 12 is nothing more than adolescenticide and using our CHILDREN as guinea pigs in the great MERCK experiment! Thank you Mr. Experts from the New England Journal of Medicine for vindicating those of us who have said it was a killer and not a healer from day one. We appreciate it.
