If you were writing your own obituary, what would you want it to say?

If I were to write my own obituary, I think I would like it to say: "Kenneth Earl Javens Born: August 20, 1962 Died: August 20, ____ He tried his best to be a good father, son, and friend; knowing that he didn't always succeed." If you're wondering about the died date, I just think it would be nice to go out of this life on he same day I came into this life.

What is a song you would be embarrassed about if your friends knew you listened to it?

None. If I like the song, it doesn't matter to me if my friends like it or not. My cd collection has everything from the Mills Brothers to Boys II Men; Beach Boys to Van Halen & Ozzie Osbourne; country, jazz, comtemporary, rock, soundtracks, gospel, and comedy. So, there really isn't anything my friends (or anyone else)could say to embarrass me when it comes to music.

That will never happen. Meat is there for me to eat, and I'm going to be eating meat until the day I die. I don't mind vegetables, as long as they are served with or along side a nice portion of meat.

My children, first and foremost. My friends. Music & movies of all kinds. Beautiful sunsets & sunrises on the beach. Rain. Good conversations. Laughing at stupid or funny things.

How do you feel about adoption of children by same sex couples?

I use to be against same sex couples adopting children. But, after taking a good, hard look at the world, my thoughts on the subject have changed greatly. Why should same sex couples be stripped of the right to be parents, as long as they are going to provide a happy, loving atmosphere for the children to grow up in? It is no different than having a mixed race couple with children. Yes, there will be obstacles for the parents and the children. But, as long as the parents can provide & protect the children, I don't see a problem. And, you can't use abuse as an excuse, because abuse occurs in every type of household all around the world.

What do you take for granted in life?

I am ashamed to say, but sometimes I do take some of my friendships for granted. And, unfortunately, I have taken an ex-girlfriend for granted. And, I have taken my parents for granted more than I'd like to admit, when I was growing up.

I spent 13 years in the service. I've been halfway around the world serving our country. I am 100% behind all our service men & women; no matter which branch they serve or where they are serving!

I don't think I'm a better or worse parent than my parents were. We've all done good things for our children that made us feel like we were good parents. And we've all made mistakes that made us look like not-so-good parents.

No. The addiction to the tar & nicotine comes AFTER you choose to start smoking. The decision to take up smoking, in the first place, is still a choice one makes.
