Kind of slow day at work today, so I'll take the opportunity to update...

Wow, God is good!  The fundraiser over the weekend raised about $9,000!  That is 6 times the amount we had originally aimed for

Prior to the event, I was thinking that we bit off a little more than we could chew.  I had concerns about so many things - seating capacity, food, decorating, etc...but everything turned out so much better than I anticipated.  All the people who volunteered to help did such a terrific job.  From the message to the fellowship to the generosity of the donors, I think that God was really glorified last Saturday night.

Sunday was another fun filled day.  At church, Pastor B, our former pastor, spoke about the importance of telling about God's blessings to the next generation.  One thing he said that really rang true is that we are always so quick to forget about the good things God has done in our lives.  I wonder why this is?  Thank goodness we have such a gracious heavenly Father.

After Sunday School, we had a short Journey core team meeting so that Andrew could say his goodbyes to the team.  It was a bittersweet meeting.  We're all sad to see him go off to Vancouver, but we know that he is following the Lord's calling and we are excited to see what the God does in his life.

Finally, after church, we had a joint bachelor party for Andrew and GC our two soon to be hitched brothers.  No, we didn't take them to a strip club or anything like that...we rented out a nice basketball gym and just played ball all day.  Now that was a good time.  It was awesome to see guys who normally don't hoop, like Isaac and Judhi go out there and have fun and good exercise to boot.  After about 3 hours of ball, we were all exhausted and called it a day.  A few of us got together at Greek Isle for dinner.  Greek food is so good.  Our waitress even hooked us up with an extra helping of dessert.  Mmmm, baklava ice cream...good thing we got some exercise earlier   I think Andrew and GC both had a great time.  We didn't do anything wild, but enjoyed some terrific guy time. Sarah and Dulcinea are two lucky gals.

Ok, guess I should get back to work now....

This weekend was super busy...but really fun and rewarding as well.  Bout to get busy at work now, so I'll have to update later...

so i finally decided to write something on my blog....reading other people's entries really inspired me

i'm typing this while lying on my couch watching tv.  seems like forever since i've had a night to just relax without any type of activity.  i guess i should cherish it since the rest of the week and weekend are jam packed with fun stuff...

thursday:  bible study at bobby's house...big week as we're going to be making a decision on what our group will be studying next.  deciding between a study guide or continuing an inductive study on a book of the Bible (anyone have any suggestions?)
