| long time no see...It's been almost 1/2 a year I haven't written anything here. It's crazy! So what can I say? I've been back from my trip to HK/China for a few months now. During these few months, a lot has happened!! It'll be really hard to summarize it all into just words. I just wish there was a way to put thoughts and images into words automatically so I wouldn't have to type so much. Job-wise, I'm currently working for a company called Toromont CAT. For those who don't know what it is, it's basically "Caterpillar" - the construction company. As you may have noticed in construction zones, there are yellow dump trunks and bulldozers that say "CAT" on them. That's us! I'm working there in a "helpdesk" environment (again). I've been here for about 1 and a 1/2 months or 2 months now and things are going pretty well. There's still a lot to learn. School-wise, I have decided to study for a Project Management certificate from Rye-High again this September. If anyone's interested, feel free to register and let me know which class/section you're in. We can goto class together!!! Other than that, there's not that much to say about school. But life is a learning process - I'm always learning regardless of school or not. Recently, a lot of friends decided to go back to Hong Kong to stay for good. It's quite sad to see everyone go, but everybody's got their life goals and objectives. It would be great for them to achieve these milestones. Everyone that's going and/or are gone already, I will miss you all and hopefully I'll see you guys soon (or maybe even join you hehehe). Keep in touch! I've also discovered some things about "friends". Again, who's a real friend and who isn't? Sometimes, people would be all friendly and keep nagging you if they have some request or need to ask you for a favor. "Can you do this for me?" "Can you help me run an errand?" "Can you help me edit my application?" "Can you drive me here?" "Can you give me a ride?" etc etc etc....the list can go on and on. Then after the request has been fulfilled, they disappear. How come they never call you and ask how you're doing? How come they never call just to chat? How come they never even take time or make an effort just to keep in touch? How come when things can be simple they have to make it so complicated? I'm sick and tired of attempting to keep these "friendships" where the other party will make no effort at all. Listen, the world's not about you and if you're going to be so selfish, then fine. I don't want to take the inititive to do it anymore. If you're not concerned then I won't be either. It's funny how you'll come running for help one day and the next, it's an entirely different story. It's now almost the end of summer. Really really hot. However, I've enjoyed it lots! I've been playing a lot of soccer, spent time with good friends, and spent time w/ my baby ^^ Time just flies when you're having fun! I don't know what else to write here. There's really too much. Maybe pictures will justify my thoughts; a picture is worth a thousand words! But I'm too lazy =b So maybe I'll put some pictures up later on facebook or something. I'll be going on a trip during the long weekend in September. It's quite odd that I've never been to New York City before. Another goal I have is to be able to travel to many places. After seeing my cousin go to Italy, it just suddenly sparked an interest in me. Til next time! I'll try to update more =)
btw, Happy Birthday Mr. FitBag....
| Last day of workSo today's my last day at Cadillac Fairview... It was a good experience...I learned quite a bit...and I've met some great people. Believe it or not, working with these guys everyday for the past 1/2 year or so has been fun. Although they're like 10 years or more older than I am, we were still considered a "young" team. I don't know if I'll miss working here. I guess it will hit me later when I have another job to compare this one to. It's kind of sad though...people I face everyday at work...it was a really good working environment~ I'll always remember my 1st job here at Cadillac Fairview though... Last nite, Elaine and I made a cake for my colleagues...they all said it was good~ It's the chocolate truffle cake by the way. It took us until almost 1 am to finish it! Thanks sweetie~ ^^ So today when I got up, I had to rush putting the truffles and stuff on the cake itself. I was originally going to drive down but then there was a huge traffic jam on the highway. I then decided to take the subway even though i had to carry the cake and stuff. Luckily, I made it down in time. We had a lunch for me...Swiss Chalet~ I don't understand how they could eat so much...they looked like PIGS haha...anyway, they were suggesting to goto Zanzibar hahaha...so stupid~ Anyway, the rest of the day, I got a whole bunch of people coming over to say bye to me...and stuff like that~ It's really nice to know how people in the company actually care about you. Goodbye CF...I've enjoyed my stay... Hong Kong, HERE I COME! If anyone wants/needs anything, let me know...I'm leaving on Thursday February 8/2007~! | | |
| Old...Is 23 OLD? I feel old...being 23 feels old...NOoOooOooooO!!!!! Another year has passed...and now I'm another year older. I don't feel any different or anything like that. Ah well...that's good at least...no creakin bones yet =b I'm celebrating right now by being at work...and eating a lunch of solitude...haha...ai.... Thanks to all those who actually remembered...thanks for all your calls...all your msgs...etc....it means/meant a lot for me~ You guys are the best....! And who called me at 5:00 am last night?!?!?! omg....thanks...whoever you are ^^ | | |
| Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!Hello everybody... I can't believe the last time I updated was last year!! omg.... Anyway, HAPPY NEW YEAR to everybody...hope all your 2007's will be much better than last... Did anybody make their New Year's Resolution(s) yet? I hope you haven't broken them yet hahaha... This year, instead of the standard 3-week holidays I got from the University days, I only had about a week...and to make it worse, Elaine wasn't here . We were originally planning to goto HK together, but my job at Cadillac Fairview prevented me from doing so. And as a result, I have to spend Christmas and New Year's Eve alone (she does too). Anyway, this holiday was pretty good (although I would've preferred the full 3 weeks!). I got to see a lot of friends that I don't normally see, relax a bit, and be productive (sort of). Sweetie's been gone for a long time already. To tell the truth, I really wasn't used to it at all (even now it's still weird...aii...). We used to be able to do everything together and now, I'm just doing everything alone. I'm thankful I have wonderful friends that offered to bring me along to their parties and fun, even if I'm being a super bright lightbulb. Although I still missed sweetie a lot, you guys made it a lot more fun ^^ Just a little recap of the holiday... - "Do Winter" with family....arrived so so so late...hahha...aii... - Dinner w/ Kenneth and Janet @ Congee Queen - Bubble Tea w/ Anthony & Loreen @ Go For Tea - Sci'06's Baptism - "shopping" with Sci06 & Cache, having Jackson & Grace rampage my house w/o me being there, dinner @ East North Dumpling King?, MJ Night (where I completely lost...badly) - Christmas Dinner w/ family - fun to see all the lil cousins running around and going crazy... - Boxing Day shopping - can't believe we actually rampaged 3 malls...although Yorkdale was the only mall I actually bought stuff at...and got more stuff for sweetie than myself? What the....*remember...Parasuco...sigh* - dinner @ Ming Gay (which I think led to my sickness!) - Passport renewal ($87.00!!! RIP-OFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF) ~ Nintendo...WIIIIIIIIIIIIIi - Home time w/ family.... - Starcraft and Warcraft 3....ufooooooo...although Mr. wHorse always seemed to be busy...haha - Lunch w/ Ken Lo and "OPEN BALL"....NBA LIVE '07 and WINNING... - Driving to 'sauga to eat IRON CHEF food (with bad service) and drinking nasty bubble tea @ Bubble Republic (gosh, that drink was the WORST TASTING DRINK I'VE EVER TASTED IN MY LIFE....LITERALLY!!!!) - shopping w/ family - Loreen's house party - what a scary area...omg....dark + no lights + driving on a desserted road at night....wah - Sing K w/ Ken Lo, Janet, and LangLang (the mic-hogger...can't believe she didn't run out of sound)... - Dinner w/ Layon & SiSi - next time gotta goto the BCE Richtree...so we can OYSTER IT...!!!!! - Countdown w/ Ken Lo, Janet, LangLang...AND SWEETIE ^^ (even though it was only over the phone...better than nothing la!! shaddup =b) - UNO...Big2.... - Andrew's 3:00 lunch...and Kim's "snack" (which she only ate 1/4 of what she ordered)...Tim Horton's on New Year's Day... - WORK ON TUESDAY (TODAY) WHICH IS SO FREAKIN TIRING!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHH That's basically the holiday....fun...but very relaxing...wish I could've seen some more friends and (of course) wish sweetie was here with me...ai...there's always next year.... Happy 2007! Best of lucky to you all!! | | |
| Annoyed...As the holidays come closer and closer, you would probably notice shopping malls hiring more staff - more security, more people helping out...etc etc...and finally more guest service reps for the mall itself. For those of you who haven't physically seen where I work, I am located right beside the Eaton Center - it's actually connected. And in that area, you would see McDonalds, Second Cup, and a bridge to walk over to The Bay. So starting from last week (or past 2 weeks or so?), I've noticed that the Eaton Centre positioned more guest service reps at every entrance of the mall. There would be a little booth where at least 1 guest service rep stands there, ready to answer questions and perhaps greeting all the shoppers who happen to walk by him/her. What's the point of this you'd ask? The point is not that they are increasing working people, but why the heck did they position some stupid fat ugly gay annoying guy right outside where I work?!?! Yes, I may be a bit mean here, but I can't help to write this because he's too annoying!!!!!!!!!! I mean, every day ever since they increased the freakin guest services people, I've seen that guy on the way to work. The 1st time I saw him he greeted me and I didn't mind. However, when the guy does that EVERY SINGLE FLIPPING DAY WITH A VERY UGLY "YUM" SMILE WITH A VERY HIGH-PITCHED GAY VOICE SAYING "HI", you would get VERY ANNOYED. Heck, they're supposed to be greeting CUSTOMERS! Not EMPLOYEES!!! I'm pretty sure by now he would know I am working there. EVERY SINGLE DAY at the SAME PLACE at the SAME TIME. I can't stand how nasty he looks when he's squinting his eyes smiling at me saying 'HI'. Just imagine some dude looking like a homo-pig saying hi to u every day with a gay voice! *shudder* OK enough about this guy...I'm getting sick already... at least station someone seksier like BECKHAM there...geez
So over the weekend, I was driving and I noticed something. People tend to turn REALLY REALLY REALLY SLOW during advance-left signals. You know why? Because as soon as the 1st car goes, the 2nd car waits til there's HUGE GAP that could fit a BUS between his/her car and the 1st car before they accelerate. I really don't understand why people do that? During the advance-left signal, I'm pretty sure more cars could turn left instead of the 3 that actually do get through. It's so annoying...*sigh* I think we've been through this before...the gov't should revoke all the c-lai's licenses...makes Toronto a safer place. No more people running stop signs, turning suddenly without signalling...no more people going 50 in a 60 zone in the FAST lane..etc etc...you name it, c-lai's do it! And now, beware of the RULE OF THE C-LAI's... I taught this to my little cousin a year or so ago and he confirmed that it was true. One day when I was driving little Jon Jon home I taught him this rule. A month later, he ran up to me and exclaimed, "Whoa Aaron you were so right! Your rule is so true!" The golden rule you ask? 99% of those champaigne/peach colored Camry's and Corollas are driven by c-lai's. Another variation of the color includes the dark-green color which isn't as popular as the champaigne color but still holds true.
I realize that I've been very offensive in this post =b I have the power to delete it right now but TOO BAD! It's a Monday and everybody gets annoyed/peeved on a Monday! Yup that's my excuse =b
