Music Music Music

There's absolutely NO music in this office. I keep reminding myself to buy speakers for my computer. I keep forgetting. It's too quiet in here! Aside from the annoying typing and phone conversations. When the door's closed to my office all I can hear are the vents. I NEED music in my LIFE! I'd even be happy with techno at this point.

"Forever I love ATLANTA"

- quote by: Lil' Scrappy. Song: F.I.L.A.

My vacation to the dirty south will be UNFORGETTABLE! From the moment we landed in HOTlanta I knew it was going to be a fun-filled 5 days. The weather is super humid! It was like walking through a cloud of MUCK. My face was sticky the second we stepped outside the airport. We rented an '08 Dodge Durango and we named him Dante! lol. Dante was big, black, and beautiful! It was equipt with satellite radio-- I need to invest in this wonderful invention. Anyways, we checked into our hotel and went to the grocery store to stock up on goodies. Our hotel was located in Downtown Atlanta, in the middle of everything. We were a few minutes away from Emory University, 2 seconds away from Georgia State University and Georgia Tech, Clark Atlanta was also a few minutes away. The area in which we grocery shopped reminded me of the U-District. Students were everywhere.

The Liquor Stores - I was AMAZED at how nice it was inside! So very organized and filled with EVERYTHING. Not to mention how cheap liquor is in the south! Moet was only $30.00. YES, $30.00! Kim and I split a GALLON of Captain Morgan for only $18.50! In WA a gallon is $40.00. CRAZY.

The Radio Stations - It was so good to hear different types of music. Atlanta LOVES T.I., Lil Wayne, and Jeezy. Heard enough of them to last me a few months! lol. The DJ's know how to MIX their MUSIC! They play a lot of "crunk" music. I like crunk/booty shakin' music but I also like my share of concious rap.

FOOD - in the South is AMAZING. I've had some good hot wings but Atlanta has GREAT hot wings. For $6.00 I was able to get 6 pc. hot wings, fried cat fish, and potatoe salad. YUM! We also ate at a southern restaurant called Mary Macs- and instead of ordering cat fish filet I ordered a WHOLE fish. Yes, 2 WHOLE CAT FISHES were sitting on my plate next to rice & grave, and mac & cheese. I would be an over weight piece of LARD if I lived in the South! So much food for so little cost! Not enough asian restaurants in ATL! I can't live without Korean food.

Downtown Atlanta - a lot of bums. No different than any other city I've been to. (Waikiki Beach in Hawaii had the least amount of bums though). Anyways, we were told it was a tad big dangerous to walk around at night alone. The city is BIG and the buildlings are more separated than downtown Seattle. You can find EVERYTHING on Peach tree Street located in Downtown ATL. Clubs are abundant downtown as well as strip clubs. The south is known for their strip clubs-- the in famous: Magic City, every rapper raps about this strip club.

the CLUBS! - Ahhhhhh yes... this is where all the crazy fun begins. We went to a different club each night. Luckie Lounge, PURE, The Velvet Room, and Studio 72-- this club was owned by J.D. aka Jermain Dupri aka Janet Jackson's Hubby! Each club was perdominately filled with African Americans. Actually, EVERYONE was African American minus the group of girls I traveled with. We stood out like sore thumbs. LOL.We got endless stares from everyone. Not necessarily rude stares just people starring out of curiosity. They were so confused as to what nationality I was. I had a couple girls as me if I was white. I had one woman grab my arm and ask, "You're white.... right......?" haha! Every other person asked me my nationality. After I stated Puerto Rican and Korean most replied with, "Como estasssss bonita!" or spoke the little spanish they knew. The music played at each club was AWESOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMEEEEEE! Now if Seattle played music like this I'd be out MONDAY - SUNDAY! haha. The clubs in ATL don't close til 4 AM, some 6 AM, and some even 8 AM! "Party don't stop til 6 in the mornnninn"-- and the quote is TRUE. Atlanta LOVES to party! With the many club options it was hard for us to choose where to go. With the help of a couple guy friends I knew there they directed us in the right place for each night. There's so much more I could add about party-scene but I'll stop here. I love love love to party in the A!

Magic City - We were told you haven't experienced the South until you've been to a strip club. So we went to the one that every rapper talks about... Magic City. It wasn't as magical as I expected but the women were hot! MOST of them anyways. Based on the women in the club I have come to the consensus that the South LOVES BOOTY. Big, Juicy, BOOTY. I don't want to get into detail about my experience here lol. Let's just say it was a night to remember!

That pretty much sums up my trip. I had fun in the good ol' Dirty Souf' but there's nothin' like the WEST COAST baby! =)
