  • OUCH!

    Pain hurts.

One of the things I did today at work was change oil on a Piper Seneca, a twin-engine airplane.  Well, after that was done I ran up the engines and then opened the cowls to look for oil leaks.  Remember, I was just working in there with no problem, but now something has changed - it is very HOT.  I keep forgetting that.  Well, I peered around with my flashlight and everything looked good.  I thought, let me feel underneath the oil filter to make sure there's no oil collecting there.  Well, what did I go and do but push my hand up firmly underneath the muffler!

That was about 3:45 p.m. EST.  It is now 6:52 EST and despite water, ice, mustard, unkers, and preparation H, my hand is still HURTING!  O well, maybe I learned my lesson this time, and I might just have one more scar to add to my collection.

In other news, two A-10 Warthogs buzzed the airport today.  Awesome fighter jets!  Unless, of course, you're on the receiving side of their fire.

  • What Would Life Be Like Without The Word Of God?

Videos used with permission.  For more information go to www.wycliffe.org.

If tomorrow all Bibles would be confiscated by authorities, what would we lose?  Would we lose the Word of God that we study daily and feed on, or would we lose the Word of God that we hardly even know or spend time in?  In other words, how much of a loss would it be to us?  Would we care, or do we ignore it even now when we do have it available?  How much of God's Word would we have retained in our memory?

    A New Week

Hello Everybody!  Well, a new week is upon us.  And can you believe it is already the last week of January?  2008 already seems to be flying by.

I just finished watching "Joe Somebody" (for the second time!) with my dad.  It's a great movie, starring Tim Allen, about realizing the things in life that are important, the things worth holding on to, the things worth fighting for.  Not popularity or fame or good fortune, but people, especially those dear to us.

This movie, along with the message from this morning about Baruch in the book of Nehemiah earnestly
repairing the wall, made me think about spiritual and eternal matters.  May we not be just going through life without living life to the fullest through Christ.  Let's not be lukewarm Christians, caught up in busyness and materialism and the "urgent," but let us earnestly seek God's face and really live in a vibrant and growing relationship with Him through Jesus Christ, focusing on the things that are important and eternal.  As we put God first, we will be putting others before ourselves, and the other things in life will fit into their proper place (Luke 10:27, Matthew 6:33).  Let's not waste the life God gave us on this earth by not enjoying nor recognizing the beauty and the many many blessings He gives us everyday.  That would be ungrateful.  And as we do our daily work and mundane routines, let's learn to do it heartily for God.

    The Power Of Your Love
    by Lincoln Brewster

    Lord I come to You
Let my heart be changed renewed
Flowing from the grace that I found
    In You

    Lord I've come to know
The weaknesses I see in me
    Will be stripped away
By the power of Your Love

    CHORUS
    Hold me close
    Let Your Love surround me
    Bring me near
    Draw me to Your side

    And as I wait
I'll rise up like the eagle
And I will soar with You
    Your Spirit leads me on
By the power of Your Love

    Lord unveil my eyes
Let me see You face to face
The knowledge of Your love as You live
    In me

    Lord renew my mind
As Your will unfolds my life
    In living every day
By the power of Your Love

    (Repeat chorus 2 times)

Yeah, I took my music player off. I didn't like that I could only put it on my main page. (Unless I switch to a different theme) I still use the music player in stand-alone mode when I'm working on the 'puter, though. Beats havin' to buy music from iTunes!

I'm trying to figure out how to edit each page individually. I can easily edit my main page, but I'd like to edit my web log page, for instance.
