  • Happy Mother's Day

Sorry this came late.  To all the mommies and mommies-to-be:

You are warriors.  The world would fall apart without you.  It's the most important job, which you have taken on bravely.  Thank you to all the mothers.

This is what my daughter made for me.  It's grand.

  • A Poem my Daughter Wrote

Im just so proud I had to post it.  I cried after I read it.

    [Her name]

I am a girl who loves birds
I wonder if the world will end in 2010
I hear chirping near the window
    I see trees and flowers

I am a girl who loves birds
I pretend to be in the future
I feel soft feathers in my hand
I touch my bird's scratchy talons
I worry that my life will go by quickly
I cry when I am lonely

I am a girl who loves birds
I understand that devotion and care for our planet will make it last
    I say nothing is impossible
I dream of a world where no wars take place
I try to obey the rules given to me
I hope that people will stop at nothing to become what they aspire
I am a girl who loves birds

  • So Rude

Today there were a couple of people on bicycles just talking to each other right there on the sidewalk and crosswalk, reserved for pedestrians who may want to, I don’t know, use the fucking space for the purpose of crossing and walking.

Hubby said to the guy, “Excuse me…”

The guy just stands there. “Just go around…there’s space…”

There were three of us.  For him to stay there on the damn CROSSWALK with his stupid bike is the height of rudeness, which happens to be one of my pet peeves.   I can be a blunt person and some people may see that as rude, but decorum is something I pay attention to.

Hubby then raised his voice and moved his bike a little.  Make this story short—the bike guy gets mad and then his friend on her bike calls out something by the time we were already on the other side.  What kind of chicken shit is that?

I didn’t say anything because A, I was in a great mood—I didn’t want to ruin our day on assholes who think they own the world.  B, I think shouting matches are reserved for dingy bars or playgrounds.  We should act better.  Our kid was right there and I wanted to set an example.  Once upon a time I would have bothered to explain why someone’s behavior is unacceptable.  Now I just don’t think it’s worth it.

What would you have done in that situation?

Hubbies asked nicely, and look what it got him.  He has a short temper when it comes to this kind of behavior and he feels that if he had to do it over again, he would have tossed the guy’s bike onto oncoming traffic.

    Grrrrr…

Also in retrospect I should have taken a pic of his bike right there on the crosswalk and posted it.  The jerk.

  • Watta beautiful day in the naborhood

You know when you tell someone, "You need to get out more..." ?   Well, I'm the perfect person to say that to.  I went out today and did stuff.  Nothing exciting, but just being out was refreshing.  I have been a hermit--no exagerration.

I also live vicariously through you guys.  So what have you got lined up for the weekend?

I promise I'll post something meaningful soon.  Not a story, but an actual blog.

So, it's fundraising time at kid's school--raffle tickets.  bleh

Other parent:  So do you think maybe it's possible for you to take the girls to sell tickets?

Me:   Eh, no.   If you want to do it, go ahead.  But I hate selling them.  I'd rather buy a couple of books than stand on a corner selling them.

  • Anybody interested...

...in reading my first erotica piece?

I have to say it's not my thing.  I don't think I'll write one for a while.

In other news:  there is NO other news hahaha

Writing is not an exciting thing to talk about.  I haven't even touched a paint brush in months.  So bad.  I'd bought some new stuff too and they just sit there begging to be touched.

I'll make my rounds and see how you're doing.

Miss you all even if you haven't me.
