| "IT HAS BEEN A FEW YEARS SINCE MANY RESIDENTS HAVE TRAVELED IN WINTRY WEATHER." | As a lot of peole know they are calling for all kinds of wintry precipitation in this area. I find it highly amusing that weather.com realizes that we are winter precipitation deprived. When you click on the "Winter Storm Weather" hotlink it goes into this spill about the upcoming weather and this part really makes me laugh... "THIS IS THE FIRST NOTABLE WINTER WEATHER EVENT THIS SEASON. IT HAS BEEN A FEW YEARS SINCE MANY RESIDENTS HAVE TRAVELED IN WINTRY WEATHER." Yes it is true folks! I have to agree. So please be careful! Don't go out in this stuff unless you absolutely have to. I do have to give the state credit though, they have already salted the roads. How nice of them! I think some people got way too excited and already had their wrecks this morning. The traffic map was covered with them on the news and there was one on my way to work. Until We Meet Again, Noodle |

| I Can't Believe He's Gone!I have always been infatuated with the arts, especially singing. In high school I was introduced to musical theater and fell in love. Mr. Saunders was the director at the time. I started out as a village person in "Carousel" freshman year and my Junior year he gave me the opportunity to be in a supportive role as Jan in "Grease." He believed in every one of us. I just found out about his passing from a friend. I hate that I just found out about it because I can not make a presence to a memorial service that happened on Dec. 29, 2007. He passed on Christmas Eve. I can't believe he is gone but I guess that we think that the people we look up to will never leave us. If anyone wishes to thank someone for introducing me to the theater world, thank him. He was the beginning. Here is his obituary... ..> | Carl Eugene "Gene" Saunders Jr. | | | EDEN — Carl Eugene "Gene" Saunders, Jr., 63, passed away Monday, December 24, 2007, at Morehead Memorial Hospital. The memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 29, at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), 211 North Oakland Avenue, Eden, N.C. Mr. Saunders was born in Herrin, Illinois, and graduated from Illinois State University with a Bachelor of Science in Education. He received a Master of Fine Arts from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Previously, he taught at Alleman High School in Rock Island, Illinois for 20 years. As the drama teacher at Rockingham County High School since 1986, Mr. Saunders directed numerous plays and musicals throughout his career. His love of theatre arts, passion for teaching, and commitment to excellence inspired many high school students to reach their potential. His influence planted the seed for many students to continue their dramatic pursuits as drama teachers as well as professional and community theatre actors. He was currently serving as co-advisor of the Senior class and had previously been the RCHS Fine Arts Chairperson. As a member of the North Carolina Theatre Conference, Mr. Saunders' students received superior ratings on both regional and state levels. He received the "best director" award for numerous plays. Mr. Saunders also served as the Cultural Arts Director for Rockingham County Schools. He previously co-owned the Fine Arts Studio of Rockingham County. Mr. Saunders helped to create the Theatre Guild of Rockingham County and was named the first Executive Director, a position he held until August of this year. He attended North Spray Christian Church, where he was an active member of the choir. An accomplished singer and actor, he frequently served as soloist for churches and community events and acted with various theatre groups throughout the Piedmont region. Mr. Saunders was preceded in death by his parents, Carl E. Saunders and Hilda Grogan Saunders. He is survived by his sister, Betty Saunders Whittington of Omaha, Nebraska; his nephews, Douglas, Steven, and Scott Whittington; nieces, Debra Moline and Lisa Westra; 14 grandnieces and grandnephews; and five cousins, James McArthur, Gary Ebert, Sammy Cox, Cheryl Cox, Lugene Compton, and Tanya Lawson. Visitation will be held from 7 until 9 p.m. on Friday, December 28, at Fair Funeral Home, 432 Boone Road, Eden. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to North Spray Christian Church, 521 Washburn Avenue, Eden, NC 27288 or Cougar Dramatics Association, Rockingham County High School, 180 High School Road, Reidsville, NC 27320. | The Bible always gives you comfortI started reading Proverbs today and found myself not wanting to put the Bible down until I had read the entire book from beginning to end. I found two verses that gave me comfort in what I am doing. He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls. - Proverbs 25:28 Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies. The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her so that he shall have no need of spoil. - Proverbs 31:10-11 Until we meet again, Noodle | | |
| Maybe You Just Don't UnderstandDiscovering what you have been going through for the past year and a half is not what you wish to be a part of can be very hard. I am in that situation now. When your Grandma that barely sees you but has been around for the past couple of days tells you in a nutshell that she can tell you are not happy it is a true sign to get yourself out of the present situation. I have been used and there is no one out there to that can convince me otherwise.
Ever since Thanksgiving I have been trying to crawl myself out of this situation but the principal player just doesn't understand that things just aren't working out. My grandmother said that if I don't get out of it soon I will hate the person involved . You may think this is not the time of year to do something like this but when you are stressed beyond measures you just can't take it anymore.
Things that have added up to this very subject...
Being told to babysit and not asked Being told to do a bunch of things and not asked Being treated like I am dumb Being treated like I am 10 years old or younger Making vacations miserable Jumping to conclusions about various things for example: when a friend calls they must want to go out when a friend calls they must be asking me to help watch their kids that I have to work 8:30 to 5:00, no shorter and no longer That I have nothing else to do Being asked what my Dad thinks about things that as an adult Daddy no longer has a say Being asked where I am Being asked what I am doing Being asked why I am doing what I am Telling me that they miss me but never call When I stand up for myself I get treated as if women don't have a voice in the matter Being treated like I don't know what I am talking about Being lied to about various matters Not doing things on their own Always asking their parent on what to spend their money on Not standing up for themselves nor for the one they "love" Being used as a trophy girlfriend that has a 4 year degree, has a great job, and is pretty Not letting me be who I am Not letting me live the way I want to live Being told who to hang out with DRAMA, DRAMA, DRAMA!!!!
I believe I am done and I am sure there is more. Soon I shall begin building myself back up to the person I like to be and most importantly who God wants me to be!

| At home sick... I actually got sent home because the office manager doesn't want what I have. I don't blame her. I could have worked until about 1 but her fears got me leaving at 11:30. While I have been sitting at home I have received a phone call from the Girl Scouts wishing to arrange an interview. I sent in my resume two weeks ago for the receptionist position at the council. That was a faster response than Subway. Subway keeps making me mad so hopefully I will get a new job soon! I also got a text message from Janice (Robbie's mom) saying that the Clerk of Court's Office might be calling me for an interview. I hope they do! Mom said that I should most definitely go for the Clerk's Office position because they pay really good! Keep me in your prayers folks! I have just started getting frustrated with job hunting now things are starting to look up. My dad turned 50 at the beginning of August so I held a big shin dig in his honor. It was a great success and I was very impressed with how it turned out. It was stressful but I am thinking about doing more things now that the house is clean and in good shape! Even the yard got a good trim! Well, I am going to go back to my bed and try to nap and get this cold mess out of my head! I am sorry if I haven't touch base with some people. It has been a crazy month. | | |
