this is the funniest thing i've ever seen:

http://www.plur.net/thisland.html

i just love election year.

i've learned recently that the old saying that you should never talk about religion and politics still rings true. i ended up having to extract my foot from my mouth several times.

but one thing i will say is this: if you're going to vote republican for whatever reason then by all means exercise your right to choose.

but please PLEASE do not vote republican because you think that's what good christians should do.

my friend told me he was at a recent christian event where they had booths set up by various organizations. one of the booths had a poster that listed "christian" values side by side with "republican" values (ie: abortion, gay rights, various "family values")

and the lady at the booth had the gall to say, "how could a christian possibly be a democrat?"

what ever happened to social justice? loving your neighbor and taking care of the widows and orphans?

they conveniently forgot to mention tax cuts for the rich and elimination of social services.

what would jesus do?

i have no idea, but it's definitely not that clear cut.
