| Once upon a moonlit twilight, five companions ventured through the dead of night, into the dark woods. Their quest was to reach the hidden shores of the Pristine Lake, and to rest for a while by the water's edge. They began at the edge of the Dark Forest, and made their way through thick shrubbery in order to reach a more beaten path. The five companions, some of them without shoes, journeyed furtively through the wood, for they wished to go unnoticed as they passed through the dark coppice.
As our five young vagabonds trekked onward, they soon came to a gigantic, mysterious figure that lay on the side of the path. Bemused by this figure, the adventurers halted themselves in their tracks in aim to decifer the nature of this figure. "It's a mess of trees and thicket," said some. "No, no it's some kind of man-made structure," said others. After moments of discussion, the campanions came to the undeniable conclusion that this figure was, in fact, the head of a gigantic cat (whose body was obviously burried deep into the ground). And so they agreed that no harm could come from such an object.
Just as the company was about to press on, towards the Pristine Lake, they heard an ominous rustle coming from the direction of the Giant Cat Head. The men drew their swords, and waited fervently; ready to kill or be killed.
Some moments passed, and the group was no more savvy to the nature of the noise-making fiend than when they had first heard its rustling. However, the group was getting eager, and so they decided that they would press onward, and leave their foe behind. Well, they didn't have to go far before they found themsleves at their journey's end (however they were quite dissapointed to see that the Pristine Lake had been soiled by the littering of campers who had found the lake before them).
Nonetheless, the companions were filled with joy, having completed their quest. They stood for a while and gazed upon the the lake and the surrounding wood, then turned home, and began their return journey. (On the way back they determined that the noise-making fiend they had nearly come face-to-face with before, was most likely a squirrel or bat, or something of the sort).
THE END....for now |
