dinner. There was a white guy in front of me in line and one of the ladies
addressed him as "bak gwei lo," and asked him what he wanted. This was
equilivant to saying: "hey white guy, what do you want?" in English. However,
the irony was that the man didn't even know that the lady was talking to him
because he didn't understand Cantonese. When it was my turn to order some food,
do you know what the lady called me?

...Liang jai.
of class when we saw her pass by us. I wasn't even sure that I
saw her, but then my friend confirmed it. We were walking in
opposite directions, so I did an about-face and tried to catch up to
her, but by that time, she was already gone. Frustrated that my
brush of fame was over before it even began, I just yelled out
"Julllliiiaaaaaaaaaa." But all that accomplished was getting
stares from random people and making everyone think I'm nuts.
Sunday, November 28, 2004

I did a lot during this Thanksgiving break. I wish I got a longer break for Thanksgiving though. The break went by too fast.

During this break, I got a chance to drive a bit. I haven't driven
in so long, but everything came back to me. It was as if the steering
wheel became an extension of my hands. Turning and parallel parking
were pieces of cheesecake and the broken U-turn was a slice of tiramisu.

I wanted to go shopping to buy some gifts for some friends whose
birthdays are coming up, but I needed some money first, so I went to
the bank. As I was withdrawing some money, the machine started giving
me problems. For some reason, it wouldn't give me my cash. There
happened to be an employee nearby, so I asked her what the problem was,
but she just ignored me. I asked another employee for some help, but he
didn't do anything. I was extremely frustrated, so I said very loudly,
"excuse me, BUT THIS WILL ONLY TAKE A MINUTE." Everybody heard me and
then jumped to the floor. "Omigosh," I thought. Then at that moment, my
money came out, and I grabbed it and ran out of the bank.

Wednesday, September 22, 2004

I feel kind of discouraged. I don't think I'll be posting that
much on here because I don't think anyone reads this site
anymore. I already write enough personal stuff in my spare time.

I don't really have much to say, anyway. I guess my sails of thought have finally lost their wind.
