Here's another song called "Open Heart"

It was inspired largely by a spirtual writing by fitness guru Amazin LeThi www.amazinlethi.com

OPEN HEART

I don’t know why I do the things I do

I’ve felt a love so deep, it’s cellular

It helps to know somebody cares,

someone to hold with joys to share

Falling down the mountain I chose to climb

Reaching for the stars holding on to dreams I found

There nothing like the touch of your hand

I’ve been staring too long at the hourglass counting sand

Sometimes all we need is an open heart

Beyond your door somebody loves you for who you are

Sometimes all we need is to love with an open heart

Through the darkness I can see your magic star

I can feel your love from a thousand miles away

There’s a light in my house guiding you my way

I can be your knight in armor whatever you want me to be

Why am I so afraid to just be me?

Take out the map, tell me where do you wanna to go

I’ve been waiting my (whole) life just to feel this close

Sometimes all we need is an open heart

Beyond your door somebody loves you for who you are

Sometimes all we need is to love with an open heart

Through the darkness I can see your magic star

I wrote a song for my Grandmother who pasted away last November.

You can listen to it on my website.

CRY A LITTLE EACH DAY

There’s only one sure thing in this life

That’s the guarantee for change

I know you’ve gone to a better place

And my world won’t be the same.

I tried my best to make you proud

I remember what you said

Work hard for the goodies in life

Never dwell on the past.

I will cry a little each day.

I will sing about the love that you give.

I can see your smile on the children that you raised.

I’m moving on and miss you each day

We used to chase the sunrise

To your home in the sky

Fresh fruit and bagels

Smoked salmon on the side

I know I made you worry sometime

With decisions in my life

I miss the comfort of your voice

Saying everything’s alright

Mama don’t you cry

I can’t take away your pain.

I remember when grandpa died

and the words that she said

I will cry a little each day

I will think about the love that he gave

I can still see his smile

On the children that we raised.

The last time I saw you

You danced the night away

A body full life

And a smile I can’t erase

I will cry a little each day.

I will sing about the love that you give.

And how you tried to say goodbye on the phone the other day.

It won’t be long, til I see you again.

Hello fans, friends and family,

According to Xanga, it's been 281 days since I wrote in my journal. Life is still moving swiftly. I found that if you hit the breaks hard, you do slow down. But you still feel the pressure from behind and the universe pushing you forward. I've done allot since my last entry.

Thanks to the kind friends at World Airways, I went to Vietnam for a few days and stopped by San Francisco and Taiwan. I met some real nice people in the adoptee community and the World Airways family. I attended a Pan Am reunion in DC and met some of their family members. It was an honor to perform my music. I attended the Operation Babylift Anniversary ceremony in NJ.

This summer I attended a few culture camps. I went to Minnesota, Colorado and Maryland. Thank you to everyone who picked up my CD and the ongoing support from family and friends.

My job at ImaginAsian TV is still fun and challenging. www.iatv.tv call your cable provider and ask for ImaginAsian TV.

Thanks again to Bridget Heine for updating my site. Thank you to Hannah, my girlfriend, for her love and patience. I send prayers to my sister in the hospital going into surgery and my dear friend Kim Lang out in Moline, Illinois.

Look for new song on my website this fall. Check out my live tracks from my gig at Club Passim. Thank you to Kevin So. www.kevinso.com

peace, love and cheese puffs

Happy Holidays! Happy New Year!

It's that time of year again. Can you believe it? The climate is chilly and the stores are packed with crazy shoppers rushing to find gifts for family and friends.

My first holiday season in New York City has been quite enjoyable. I saw the big Christmas tree at Rockafeller Center, the ice skating rink and etc. I saw the huge menorah at Central Park. I missed the first snowfall. I was inside wacthing TV.  I'm sure it will sonw again. There's something about NYC!

This year brought many joys and a few sorrows.

I performed at a few great culture camps this past summer. I met new family and friends in Boston, New Jersey, Chicago and Minnesota. Thanks to Caroline and Catalyst Foundation www.catalystfoundation.org , Holt International, Catherine and FCVN Chicago and Adopt-a-Minefield for having me. Thanks to Kim and Josh Lang for housing me and offering all your support.

I made positive connections in Chinatown NYC. I played on top of a parade float. I feel honored to be a part of a weekly show on Mott Street www.teabagopenmic.com and a wonderful Asian American music scene in Manhattan.

Thank you to Kevin So www.kevinso.com, Maggie Kim www.maggiekim.com , Johnny Hi-Fi www.johnnyhi-fi.com, Michael Hsu www.michaelhsu.com and so many others.

I have a awesome job at ImaginAsianTV. Check us out on the west coast. www.iatv.tv. It's definitely our turn to shine in the mainstream. This is so exciting. I'll keep you posted.

It's saddens me to announce the passing of my grandmother Gertrude Haymes. She was a special person in my life. She was so accepting of me as an adoptee back in the early 70's. For the 30 years I knew her she was so energetic, kind, generous, loving and understanding. I'm sure I missed a few more positive remarks. I know she will be watching me from above. It was an honor to know her. I will need her help in 2005. I know she will always be with me.

Look for a new album this year. My new song collection is up to 7. After I finish 15 songs I will return to the studio and reconnect with the magic. I will be at the Operation Babylift anniversary ceremony in New Jersey this April as well as the VAN conference in Boston. It's great to see the Vietnamese community and adoption community coming together.

I look forward to getting involved with Also-Known-As for their culture day. My life work inspires me everyday. No matter what the politics are. Adoption gives love and shelter to a child in need.

I'd love to play more culture camps. I learn so much from the workshops and the individual stories I hear. If anyone knows of any culture camps give me a holler.

I hope to put a press kit together and try a small spring college tour around the NYC area. Check out my website for new songs and pictures. www.jaredrehberg.com

Thank you to all my supportive and loving family, friends and fans alike.
Without you, I would not be where I am today.  xo

peace in every step,

Jared Rehberg
