A couple of days ago I managed to take notice of something that was going on.  I personally did not find it appealing at all.  In fact I was totally shocked by their actions towards a hobby.  According to Merriam-Webster Dictionary online Obsession is stated as the following: a persistent disturbing preoccupation with an often unreasonable idea or feeling; broadly: compelling motivation.  I broke the word down just a little bit.  The same website defines obsessed as to haunt or excessively preoccupy the mind of and/or to engage in obsessive thinking.  Merriam Webster also defines hobby as a pursuit outside one's regular occupation engaged in especially for relaxation.  Hobbies are hobbies for a reason.  It is something that we enjoy to do in our spare time, not something that consumes our lives, granted some people end up making their hobby into their future career path. 

Some of you may wonder what the hobby is that I'm talking about, many of you already know, but for those who do not this hobby is called Cosplay.  From what I have noticed there are two different types of obsession when it comes to cosplay.  One is in the creation process, and this is not a bad thing.  The person who is making the costume wants to make sure that every aspect is perfect and/or done to the best of their ability.  The other is obsession over a certain character, which there is a different in being a fan of the character and obsessing over them.  I am talking about someone who they let one character's personality consume their everyday life.  They try to look like them, act like them, sound like them, etc. until they can be the human form of them. 

Besides, just a character, a person can become too obsessive over a group or making sure they are the leader of everything.  Everyone wants to be the best person or group out there, but there is such a thing as going to far.  I am sure many of us can think of prime examples; however, I will give a couple of examples that I have seen within the past few years.  Example one:  if a member of a group cannot make it to a convention it is not their fault, or the fault of anyone else in the group.  Everyone has a life and other things that must be done beside cosplay.  Another example is to actually listen to a member of the group who may know more about a subject matter instead of blowing them off thinking that you know the correct answer.  In a group one person does not take sole credit or vast majority of the credit; however, there are exceptions to this.  When it is a group, there is a group effort involved and each member is just as important as the other.

Days in Florence numbered

Life has just became more sucktacular!

Well guys, looks like my days of living in Florence are numbered. My grandad just told me that I must move out of my apartment by the end of this month and move to Rogersville at my uncle's place. So I must say that this school year has offically been the worst one yet and if I had actually gone to UAH this is what life would have been like. There is just one thing I don't get. They say that I'm not as social as I was last year, but view it this way, how can one be social when you have people dictating when you can go out and where you can go and who you can go with.
