I'm bringing Xanga back - drop a comment if you're with me!

Wednesday, January 31, 2007

So I have taken quite a long xanga hiatus.  I almost forgot my password and the layout is so much different then before.  Are you guys still reading this?  hehe.  Just letting you know, I still read my xanga subscriptions and appreciate all of your updates. :)

Here are a few of my updates:

-I am a licensed pharmacist in the state of California!!!  They finally approved me back in July cuz I had to wait hella days for 400 people to take the exam and make a curve.  I passed and the burden was lifted off my shoulders!!  :D  When I first got my license, my supervisor placed me in the crazy converted stores (Sav-on to CVS) so I could help them out as an extra person, and then when I was alone, they sent me down to Oceanside (next to Camp Pendleton) for 3 months.  After much persistence, I finally got transferred to the store next to my house!!  I love that store because the oldest person that works there is 32 years old and we're all young and happy.  I feel as if I'm hanging out with my friends because we can all relate.  Plus, going to happy hour after work is awesome too.

-I love my small group.  I just feel blessed to find a group of people whom I can share with and learn about God's word.  Everyone is down to earth and laid back, it's really cool.  We hang out, eat, and have fun together.  The girls in the group are awesome and we can relate to each other and stuff.

-I'm taking 2 small trips this month which I'm excited about.  One to San Francisco and one to Las Vegas.  Not too far out, but it'll be a nice break between the madness since I have been working ~48 hour weeks.  When I first got licensed, I was working ~60 hour weeks so this is a great improvement on my part.  I'm such a workaholic huh?  Gotta work hard and play hard!!  :D

-The house hunt in Irvine is still going on.  No luck yet, but we'll see what happens.  In the meantime, I'm still living at home. . . .

-Lastly, I actually started dating someone new.  He's really good to me and I hope it works out.  It's still in the beginning stages, but both of us are working on it.  I appreciate all of the time and effort he's putting into this relationship and I think he's amazing!  :)

That's all for now.  Hopefully I will update more within the year.. heheh.. jk :)

Greetings from Boston

Hmm... where shall I begin.

First off, I am still not a pharmacist.  :(  I studied my butt off for 3 weeks and I'm still awaiting my results from the CA board of pharmacy!!  I just hope to God I passed!  If not, it'll just be God's way of telling me I'm not ready...  However, I passed my national boards with flying colors, so I was very happy about that.  :)

For the past 2 weeks, I have been working my 40 hour work week and it's a bit tiring.  At one of the stores, I'm stuck working drive-thru which sucks boooty cuz I always hafta start off with, "just letting you know your privacy might be compromised..."  I guess to appreciate your job, you need a 'blue-collar work ethic'.  Now I incorporate the words "thank you, have a nice day" in my daily life even though I'm the customer purchasing a product at the store.  Working in a retail pharmacy has led me to appreciate good customer service and to treat other people in the retail world with more respect.  Trust me, providing good customer service is quite a daunting task especially when there are grouchy, demanding people out there!!!!

Car accident revisited ---  so my last family trip was out to Chicago for my graduation and while travelling to my graduation banquet in the pouring rain, our rental car slipped into a ditch.  Thank God everything and everyone was okay and Chicago people are nice enough to help us out.  However, while we were travelling to LAX, there was a stagnant car in the carpool lane, forcing the car in front of us to make a sudden stop, thus leading my dad to slam on the breaks..... which lead to us rear-ending him and the car in front of him.  The fire truck came and the ambulance had to take my mom to Harbor UCLA medical center.  They ran a few x-rays and we found out that she was okay.  Our car may be totalled but the adjuster will take a look at it sometime this week.

After our fiasco in LAX, we finally make our way to Boston to see my sister.  All I gotta say is that I commend anyone that can drive in this crazy city cuz the streets curve, change names, and only God knows where you are going.  Whenever I drive around here, I get anxiety and I feel like I'm driving in the game "Crazy Taxi" cuz there are random people crossing the street and cars swerving in and out.  I can't even tell how many lanes there are over here!!!  I keep telling my sister... come back to Cali!!!  All roads lead to Cali... OC is the place to be!

Okay, The End :)

Few Updates...

Wow, I almost forgot about this thing.  hehe.  Well lots have happened in the past month.  I'm just going to put it in a bullet outline format cuz I don't have much time.. hehe.

-I am 26 years old!!  Craziness.  I certainly don't act or look like I'm 26 though.. heheh.  I tried to get a library card at the Mission Viejo library and the lady had to ask me if I was 18 years old.  (???)  My friend JT brought up a good point when he said that now we don't have anything to look forward to until we are 65 years old and get social security!! hahahah. HOW SAD!  Thanks to all of my friends that took me out for my bday, good times, good times.  :D

-I officially signed my contract to work for Sav-on Drug (aka Slave-on).  However, I will be a CVS employee when they take over in June.  I will be an undistributed floater pharmacist (no permanent store) in the South OC/North SD area which is actually a highly coveted position since everyone wants to live in OC!

-I'm currently studying for my pharmacy board exam and I've been really slacking.  I dunno what I've been doing for the past month!  Everyone wants me to work at their store and I get suckered into it.  However, these next 2 weeks I will be living in the MV library so I can get some work done.  If anyone else needs a study buddy, gimme a holla!  hehee.  I've been having major anxiety about it and sometimes it overwhelms me.  :(  I'm just sooooo sick of studying because I've been going to school for 8 years straight and i'm really BURNT out to say the least.  *breathe in*breathe out*  I need a vacation!!!!

-My parents have been helping me find a place in Irvine or Aliso Viejo.  It's crazy expensive!  But it makes me excited to actually have my OWN place.  How cool is that?!??!  Ah, it makes me so happy just thinking about it.  :D

Alrite, gotta get back to my books.  They are waiting for me!

Yesterday I got a day off so I got myself to do some exercise at the gym.  I ran 4 miles!!  That's a lot for me!!  hehe.  Now I wish I could do that at least 3 times a week....

This weekend was great because I attended my old small group leader Dom's bridal shower.  It was my very first one!!  It was lots of fun seeing all these old faces from UCLA -- Doms, Dar, Pat, and Alice!  I always thought of them as my older sisters!  I can't believe it's been like 4 years since I have seen them all.  It seems like it was just yesterday when all of them dog-piled me at my first Grace retreat cuz I was the lil freshman.  hahah~  Time really does fly.

After the shower, me and Jay headed out to 3rd street to walk around and chill.  Okay, when the sign at Gotham says, "free pool from 6-8pm" it is very DECEIVING.  They only let you play at the pool table by the bar which is super dark and hard to play on.  (Just FYI for anybody ever trying to go there).. hehe.  I really miss LA.  I wish I lived there!!  Too bad rent is sky high.  oh well.  I'll be an OC girl for quite a while!

On Sunday I went to New Song Irvine again.  Since I started attending small group, it's been a lot better cuz I've been trying to build a community there.  If any of you haven't been there, this church is HUGE and has 3 different services.  I swear, every time I go there, I see someone from my past.  It's like every Asian person who has lived in Orange County has stepped foot in that church.  This past Sunday I saw this guy I went to high school with.  Craziness.

Ok, that's all for now, till next time. :)
