MON AUG 25, 2003

Grrr! It was the first day of school and already I feel exhausted. It was okay though because I only had two classes today. I realized that one of my classes are only on Wednesday and Friday. Maybe I'll be more motivated as the semester goes on. I guess today I was extra tired from a very long, eventful weekend. It was so much fun. On Friday night, I went clubbing at Pipeline. That was the first time in a long time that I had fun clubbing. I guess I really enjoyed the music and the crowd was crazy. For one entire song, a  group of black people took over the dance floor in the middle while everyone crowed around to watch them shake their asses to a synchronized dance number. They were really good. Some people even tried to join in and follow them; but it was obvious that they couldn't do it like the blacks. I left Pipeline at about 3:45am and I got home a little after 4:00am. I didn't get much sleep because later that morning I had to wake up and get ready to head on over to Ko'olina Resort, where we rented a 1-bedroom suite. When we checked in, we were blown away by how nice it was in there. It had a full kitchen, bathroom with a glass shower and next to the bathroom was another enclosed area with a sink and a beautiful bathtub/jacuzzi. It had a dining table, TV, sofa that turns into a bed, a huge lanai with patio furniture, and the bedroom had a king-size bed and also a television. It was perfect for entertaining.....and that's exactly what we did. At night time we drank and partied a little bit. That was awesome. I was happy to see Laci and Chris. I miss them. Our friends  were so thoughtful and bought me and Laci a birthday cake for our 21st birthday. We had so much fun and the place was so nice that we didn't want to check out; but, unfortunately we had to. On Sunday, after checking out, we swam at the hotel pool and left for our around-the-island road trip. That was so much fun. I wonder why it took us so long to do it. I guess this time we made it a point since Jason is visiting and will no longer be living here. We started on the North Shore side, stopped to eat shaved ice at Matsumoto's, then stopped at Giovanni's Shrimp truck to eat their famous shrimp plates. We went through Laie and ended up on the Windward side. I was happy that we even had time to swim at Kailua Beach. After leaving the beach at around 6:30pm, we went to Judy's house to shower and get ready to eat dinner at Gordon Biersch. Dinner there was pretty good; but I was pretty full from eating the entire day. Spending time with the whole gang this weekend really made me appreciate our friendships. And for the rest of my life, I'll never forget how memorable it was.

Thanks Mommy Ruthie for the beautiful birthday card (I'll keep it forever) and planner. And thanks Piche for the adorable Care Bear. I loved it!

Yipee! I finally made it...I turned 21 yesterday! You know what that means...Anyways, I didn't do much. I worked all day. My office gave me a lei in the morning and at the end of the day, they presented me with a card and a cake. It was a very special day; but very laid back. One would think that a 21st birthday would be a big blow out; but when I got home, I just spent time with the family and had a nice dinner. I should've gone out because I was off today, but I was actually really tired and exhausted. That's okay I'm saving my energy for this weekend. Partay! It's actually going to be weird being the one to buy the alcohol and being able to. I'm sure it'll be nice for a change, instead of being the dependent one. Tonight I have the option of going to Zanzabar with Krissy or to Oceans with several of my friends and coworkers. Sounds like fun; but unfortunately I have to work early tomorrow. That's okay maybe I'll still go depending how I feel. It'll be like last summer when I used to go clubbing until 4-5am and have to work at 8am. I wonder if I still have it in me. I doubt it. After all I just turned 21, I'm getting old. Yikes! Well, if I end up going tonight, I'll find out if I can still handle it. I know I'll definitedly go out and party tomorrow night. I'm probably going to Pipeline; but Jeff is having a Bar-B-Q so I might stop by over there first. Damn, I can't believe that school will be starting this Monday. Overall, I guess the summer was okay. I just hope it'll be an awesome semester.

P.S. Thanks everyone for wishing me a Happy Birthday and making it a very special one! I really appreciate it!

FRI AUG 15, 2003

Wow, I can't believe this thing is finally working. It's almost gonna make 2 weeks since my last entry. Anyways, my days lately have been mediocre. I've been spending a lot of time with the gang at the "hangout." Pretty much chillin' until school starts. Getting ready for that but not looking forward to it....if that makes any sense at all. At least we're getting closer to Jay coming back. That'll be fun. Let's see, since it's been awhile since I last wrote, let me just recap....

Thurs (Yesterday)- Me, Cara, and Kelsey went to the beach. We went on the North Shore Side. It was a little windy at first but after it turned out to be a nice day. It was nice to go on that side of the island because usually we go on the West Side (Ko'olina). The three of us sitting on the sand, swimming in the water brought me back to the way things were . It was really nice spending the day with the two of them. It reminded me of our days in training. I even "opened" up a little to Cara. Thanks Cara for being a good listener.

Wed - Worked all day and after work, I stopped by the "hangout" and stayed for a little bit and chit chatted.

Tues - Did nothing exciting, just got some R&R

Mon -  In the evening, I met up with Ruthie, Sharzi, and Cara. We went to the "Spot" to sing some Karaoke. Going there reminded me of our skit night M&M . It was lots of fun. Later we went to Bubbies and headed to the "hangout."

Sun - Spent time with the family

Sat - During the day I went to Pearlridge with my oldest sister. Then later that night, I went to Philip Paolo with Cara to see Disguyz perform. After, we stopped by next door at Meritage. They were having a clubbing event. We stayed for a minute then left. We headed over to Waterfront. Damn, it gets so packed in there. I got to meet Miss Krissy. She's super sweet. I think I found a Pipeline partner. She's just like me in the sense of preference of guys, which is really unusual because she's Asian. Maybe her friends are right, she needs to eat more rice. LOL! I thought that was cute . Nah, but I like people who are like me and have the same interests as me even when it comes to guys. It's nice to be able to relate to someone especially when most of your friends are Asians and only like Asians, which is cool with me, too.

Everything Before Sat - It's all a blur, too long ago.

MON AUG 4, 2003

Here are some of the quizzes that I took that sparked my interest.......

Which Reese Witherspoon are you?

I absolutely love Cruel Intentions. It's not just one of my favorite Reese Witherspoon movies; it's one of my favorite movies, period. I never saw Reese Witherspoon as the beautiful and brainy actress that she is until I saw this movie. Not to mention her handsome hubby, Ryan Philipe is in it, too. She really does have an admirable life, one that I wouldn't mind having - an accomplished and successful career, having brains and beauty, a family, a dedicated, supportive, good-looking husband, making large sums of money, and having it all at a very young age. Much props!

Which "Friend" are you?

SAT AUG 2, 2003

Well, let's see....today I spent time with my mom and sister. We went shopping and ate at the Pearlridge CPK. That was really nice . I wish we could have more days like today; but we're all usually busy doing our own thing or working. When I was shopping, I was telling myself how nice it would be to be so wealthy that I wouldn't even need to look at a single price tag. Damn, I really hope that I get a prestigous over-paying occupation, one that I enjoy, might I add.

Yesterday after work, I met up with the "Maid Brigade" at the "hangout." I brought pizza and we were going to watch a movie, but instead one of the girls left early while the rest of us figured some "things" out . I intended to leave there at 6:30p, but it turned out that I left at 9:30p. By the time I got home it was 10:00p. I wasn't tired, so I decided to check my e-mail and I finally burned an alternative mixed CD. I was meaning to do that for the longest time, but I never got around to it. Right now, I kind of can't wait for school to start; but at the same time I'm enjoying my days of just cruisin'. I know when school does start, I'll wish I was back in the summer. How ironic life is!

I took the test.........

WHAT MENTAL DISORDER ARE YOU?

So, it turns out that I have an Obsessive Compulsive Disorder . I'll admit that I'm closer to having OCD than being bipolar or a schizophrenic. Sometimes before I leave the house, I'll check to make sure the stove is off and then when I'm walking out the door, I'll go back in and check it again to make sure. Also whenever I park and get out of my car, I'll put my keys in my purse and before locking the door, I'll check to make sure it's in there. I swear sometimes I can be such a nutcase. Or maybe it's not OCD, it's just being more safe than sorry, which is always a good thing, right?!

Oscar De La Hoya, my Papi Chulo! - Kinda reminds me of Ryan
