Well, guess what.... It snowed today!!!!  Several days ago it was in the 80's and this morning it was freezing cold and SNOWING!!!!  I actually got off around 8 this morning and was off till a little before 4 this afternoon.  I really didn't do much but it was just nice being off! 

I think this post is going to be about the Daffy Supper we had a few months ago....  For those of you that don't know, everybody takes a place setting (plate, eating utensils, cup, etc etc), and it gets numbered and then everybody draws numbers....  I think the pictures pretty much say the rest, lol!!!

A pic of the whole table, notice the vase, milk bucket and sippy cup as some examples of cups. :)  Also a meat platter, relish dish, baby plate, etc.....

As you can see, we had spaghetti, peas, and jello to eat... Somebody wasn't gonna let us off easy!!! ;)

This was the place setting that I took.  And yes, it is a bed pan for the plate, urinal for the cup, and a pair of gloves for the eating utensils.  Mean i know, but very entertaining!  She even got a special drink, the rest of us had to drink water... LOL, I actually did feel bad!!!!!!!

Janet thot it was too late to be drinking those kinds of things so Leon was more than willing to drink it instead, lol!!  Notice the piece of tape on the bottom corner?  Yea, he didn't either until he was already drinking it!!!!  I told them that we clean them as good as we can in between uses, lol!!!  That was just about the end of him, but he can't say I didn't warn him! :)

And this was our host couple, with their normal place settings... Not sure how that happened :)

One evening last fall Lisa, Loretta and her children, and I went fishing (maybe I should clarify, they went fishing and I took pictures) back on one of Truman's places.  We took a supper of grilled chicken and I can't remember what else along...

Bullet decided that he wanted to go along too, in Loretta's brand new Tahoe to boot! : )

While we were sitting there we heard what sounded like a stampede thru the brush behind us, it really sounded lyk a herd of buffalo or something, but out came a humongous armadillo with Bullet hot on his heels.  They went tearing up the bank and the armadillo went over the top and poor Bullet was left behind. : )

Bullet thinks if he helps his master so nicely maybe, jus maybe, he'l get lucky....

It looks like it's been awhile since I posted anything so maybe it's about time... I'm not sure where to start... I think maybe I'll just start doing a whole bunch of little picture posts and maybe that will give me a place to start.  I guess I'll start with the most recent first since that's the easiest to remember...

The youth did a Valentine's Banquet for the married couples at church.  It was really a lot of fun planning it and watching it come around.  We kinda split up the responsibilities and so hopefully nobody was overloaded...  I was on call on Saturday so I didn't get to help them then, but they did a wonderful job!  Don't know how they managed without me but...  
We met them as they came in the door and directed the children downstairs where Bonnie and Steph were taking care of them!  Thanks, girls!  The couples were ushered into the fellowship hall one by one and Leon took their pics on a park bench with trees behind it.

Well, I am VERY happy and excited to tell you guys that I PASSED my National EMT registry test!!!! I AM SOOO EXCITED!!!!  I took it on Monday morning at 8AM!  Let's just say when I got out of there I was very doubtful that I had passed it!!!  I was almost positive in fact that I had failed !!!  Besides the fact that I was told that 80% flunk it the first time I had no time to study at all.  I was going to study all weekend at work but somehow never got around to it except maybe 10min at best on Saturday night, then maybe another 5 min on Sunday afternoon before I fell asleep!   Now do you know why Paramedic school scares me!!  I somehow never find time to study and HATE studying with a PASSION, and it never gets done!  But I'm pretty sure that's not going to work in Paramedic classes!  So after I got out of the building I called my instructor from Woodward and told him that I'm pretty sure I failed and answered his 90 and 1 questions about how the test was etc.  Anyway I came home and ran some errands etc and went to bed and about 4:30pm he called me n asked what I was doing and stuff. And then was just kinda quiet and I was lyk if you called me to tell me I flunked my test I am NOT going to be very happy.  N he's lyk, well, I just logged on2 the national registry site, and um, let me see... O here it has J Wingard, and the time you took ur test and o, well here it says passed and registered!!!!  LOL! I'm sure that poor man will have ringing ears for the rest of the week, if he can even hear at all!!!    So now I am just waiting to get my card so I can apply for my state license and then I should be good to go! 

Anyway, I worked last night and am working tonight and this is the last before I go to TEXAS on Thursday!!  I am sooo ready for a break!!!  The past 2 nights I've been the extra aide so have kinda been the floatie flunkie!   Last night I did a baby's hearing and screening test and odds and ends and changed a man's bed about 3 times and gave a shower at about 6 this morning!!  Not the best time to do it but he wanted one so bad and he said I can wake him up whatever time of the night that it suits me to do it, just so that he can get it done for sure, but I felt bad waking him at 3  or so, so I just waited and we got it done!!  O and we had this guy last night, well let me rephrase that, we've had this guy for the last week that has severe dimentia and will NOT stay in bed.  The man is 93, I think, and used to be a preacher.  Well, he keeps crawling out of bed and falling and stuff so last night me and the other aide put him in a geri chair (basically an adult high chair) and tied him in and took him to the nurses station to be babysat.  What we didn't count on was, lyk they say, once a preacher always a preacher!!!  That poor man sat up there and preached all night long, then he would have prayer and sing Amazing Grace or some other hymn and then he would start up again!!  It was pretty funny except he was no quiet preacher, we could hear him all the way down in the women's center.  So we closed all the other patient doors and just let him go for it! 

This morning then I went to my mom's and babysat for her while she came to town.  She babysits a set of twins that are 3 and another little boy thats maybe 2.  They are a mess!!  The twins usually stick up for each other but then still get in huge fights between themselves and the little boy loves to just irritate the hound out of them.  He'l just put his foot on Sierra's leg or sometimes just in her line of vision and that just upsets her to no end and he'l just keep on doing it just to make her scream.  Then the one time the twins were on the recliner and there was more than enough room for Tyson yet too, but no she stretches way far out as far as her little tippy toes can reach just so that she's touching his leg and can say he's in her way and needs to get off!    I told them that pretty soon I'm gonna whup em all soundly and send them to bed, and they laughed as though that was the best joke they had ever heard!  Then the boys decided they were going to go hunting and got their sticks and my brothers and dads boots and they were all set!!  (I stopped them before they got the boys pump gun though!)  I fed em lunch about 11:30 and we all WENT TO BED shortly thereafter!!  I didn't sleep too hard till I heard my mom come home and then slept till 2:30 pm.  I decided my bed would be more comfortable than that recliner so I got up and went home.  On the way I passed my dear friend slaving away mowing the forest that had grown up in the graveyard while she was gone, so I changed and went and helped her weedeat for a little bit, then went home and went to bed!  Tonight has been pretty quiet (knock on wood).  The little man that was awake all night last night has been sleeping ever since we got here!!  I gave a little baby her first bath and then did her hearing and screening test.  I'm telling u she had to have ants in her pants or something cuz she wouldn't hold still for anything!!  Finally after I covered her with a nice toasty blanket she settled down and we got it dun!! 

Well if you're still reading u must be really and truly bored and I do pity u!!!  I would suggest a Tylenol PM and a bed!!!

Ok, lets try this again.... I had one post just about ready and the computer belched and all my hard work just blew away!!!!

Let me see, o yes, I was telling you about the bad night that I had!!! I went up to Woodward tonight for a review night before I take my test. Well on the way home some 4-legged creature (a deer to most people but he ain't no dear to me!) decided that he just HAD to cross the road RIGHT in front of ME!!!!!! I'm telling you, I'm just SICK!!!!!! I JUST got my car out of the shop lyk a WEEK ago!!!!! N now it looks worse than ever!!!! The right blinker is gone, the headlight is stuck way in, the grill that has my VW placard on it is completely gone, the fender is cracked and loose, and the front right panel, the hood, and the front right passenger door are dented!!!! GRRRR!!! I think I'm gonna go buy a lil humdinger vehicle and just run it and not worry about a thing!!!! I think this is my punishment for being so proud of my car, cuz it looked really good when I got it back!!!!!!!!

Then to make my disposition worse I had to come to work!!!! With NO sleep cause I went up to class, and if I wouldn't have gone to class I would have gotten some sleep and my car would still be in good shape. O, well, enough griping cuz after that my night got a little bit better or maybe I just "renewed my outlook!" I got to work and one of my favorite patients was still here so I went to check on him and I decided I wasn't so bad off after all!! Funny how we can get so wrapped up in our own little lives and forget that sum people would just love to be able to do the things we can! Then to make things even better we have TWO aides tonight!!! Unbelievable!! And even better she HATES working in the ER and I LOVE it.

OK, for the THIRD time now, let's see if I can get this finished.  Thankfully, last time I had the sense to copy and paste part of it part of the way thru so I didn't lose all of it!  I think maybe the smiley's and frownies and mouths wide opens are doing it so I ges I will try to refrain from using those!!  GRRRR!!!!

So.... I was saying that they were quite slammed when I first got back here tonight but I ges just the sight of me made everybody feel soooo much better, cuz man, we started discharging them right and left.  I could barely get one bed cleaned before it was time to take the next bed out!!!  So now the pillows are all in the right directions, a name is still left on the board and the lights in two of the rooms are on, so we should have no bad luck tonight!!! I'm telling you, I think the medical field is one of the most superstitious places there is!!!! 

O, I met a very important person tonight! : )  Ok, I don't know how important but it may be useful someday!!  The chief of police in Thomas!!!  He came in to pick somebody up and I had no clue who he was until he started telling me what he does and who he is and stuff!!!  LOL!!!  I quickly decided that he might be somebody to try and keep on your good side and be very nice and friendly to!!! : )
