I might be retiring from Xanga. I've been way too busy working on films and away from my computer to write about what Ive been doing. Last night was the last show with Conan O'Brien's Late Night With Conan O'Brien Show!
He will soon take over Jay Leno's Tonight Show With Jay Leno.
Warmer days ahead for Conan! Peace out New York. Hello Los Angeles!
Jimmy Fallon will replace Conan O'Brien in the Late Night Show! He's a funny guy. I saw him when he had a stand-up show at Northeastern University a few years ago. I just think he tried too hard to be like Adam Sandler at times. It'll be tough to replace Conan O'Brien but best of luck to him!
I spent my Valentine's weekend working on "My Sweet Revenge" filming in Lynn, MA on Saturday and North Andover, MA on Sunday. Many laughs thanks to dinner at the Lynn Brickyard Bar & Grille with Bryant's chickenstack.com & condiments pallete, pool table lifting with Josh and Brandon and Carolyn's Plump Potion on Bryant's, Josh's and my lips...soooo tingly hahaha! Randomly went to Salem, MA Newbury Comics and a few Dunkin Donuts while waiting for sunset.
Also went to Keri's party (no pics) on Saturday night. It was great seeing her and some friends from Northeastern University who I hadn't seen in a while.
Sunday night, went to a party at Harvard U. featuring Stop For Capes - http://www.myspace.com/stopforcapes. As you can see in the pics, it was a blast dancing, singing and partying with the crew all night at Harvard University with cool buddies and new friends!
Friday, went to an audition wth Holly at Lynn Comcast TV. She got the part and I even got offered to work with the crew. I just went to the audition to support Holly but she mentioned to the crew that I work freelance film production and they offered me a position to work with the short film too. Pretty cool that the film might even be aired on Comcast TV! Then, we went to a couple parties. Mike's bday party and another party for three people who had birthdays near each other.
Saturday, worked in Malden for "The Intensive" filming. Surprised to find out that it was at my friend Kevin's house! Had a great time filming there since I knew Kevin and his family. The cast and crew of "The Intensive" are hilarious too and we always have a lot of laughs despite us making a drama/thriller genre film. Here are some pics from that day:
After working on "The Intensive", I got ready and met up with Holly to go to the MA Film Industry Wrap Party. The event was "party casual" but a lot of my friends said that it'd be good to be "business casual" since there would be a lot of filmmakers and actors that would dress to impress. It was a bit rocky in the beginning but once I saw some friends and the live band started playing music, we had fun mingling, networking and showing some dance moves
After the wrap party eneded at only around midnight, we decided to head over a party in Somerville. It was funny showing up at the party all dressed up so we got a few oooohs and ahhhhs from our friends. Then we headed back to chill a bit at Egermont and went back to Holly's. She lived in Allston and I had to work on "The Intensive" in Cambridge so I opted to stay at her place. Yup, I said lived in Allston because she moved back home to Westford on Sunday and sublet her room until May. I'll miss hanging out with her at her place but we'll still be working on a few films together soon. Besides, I became friends with her roommates too so I may still crash on their couch.
Sunday, worked on "The Intensive" at the Cambridge Center For Adult Education. We had to reshoot some scenes so it was a bit boring to do th same setup and hear the same lines again. But once again, we did have fun behind the scenes making it. We are def going to have a lot of blooper reels! I also got some oooohs and ahhhhs for my attire because I wore the same clothes I wore at the MA Film Industry Party since I stayed at Holly's and didn't bring a change of clothes. Ooops! Anyway, I shed off the shirt and sweater later and just wore my plain white tshirt since it got warm with the set lights and lots of moving around. Here are some pictures from the workshop scenes:
After working on "The Intensive", I just headed home since Holly moved back to Westford. I was in a bit of a bleh mood without Holly and being tired from all the parties and work so I opted to watch the Superbowl at home. I even took a nap and missed a lot of the game since I wasn't rooting for either team. Halftime had Bruce Springsteen. In the end it was a close game but it was really pretty boring and I am notafan of either teams. I'm a Patriots fan and a bit upset that they didnt get in the playoffs despite having a better record thant three teams that made it in the playoffs! Anyway, at least we still have the Celtics, Bruins and soon the Red Sox to cheer on!
The last month or so, I've been spending a lot of time with Holly, her roommates Cal & Dee and our mutual friend Clarence & his friends/roommates/people living in his building on Egermont St who chill at his place a lot. I met Holly through my friend Clarence on his birthday right before New Year's. I've been helping her pursue her passion on acting by going to auditions with her and introducing her to a few friends who work in the film industry. We've also had quite a few nights just chillin' and hanging out. Great talking about movies and our dreams of one day becoming like the characters on Entourage. Also gone to quite a few parties and a couple shows of our mutual friends' band called Stop For Capes - http://www.myspace.com/stopforcapes
Unfortunately, Holly's going back home to Westford, MA for a few months starting this weekend but I hope we keep in touch despite her going home because she's still going to be taking classes in the Art Institute of Boston and hopefully she'll get to work on a few films that she auditioned for, which I will also be working on.
My friend Glenn also had his CD release show last week. It was nice hanging out with a lot of friends while listening to great music! I was a bit late to the show but I saw a few songs and got a CD too! It sounds awesome and def recommend it! More info on Glenn's music at:
Also last week was the inauguration of President Obama. It was an inspirational day having everyone at work stop and watch his inauguration and speech. He is very well spoken unlike Bush and seems to be genuinely wanting to end the war in the Middle East and help make USA a country not to be hated by other countries anymore. He does have a lot of goals mentioned during his speech but all I can say to the pessimists are YES WE CAN! I hope USA does improve its economy and be prosperous like in the nineties!
Other than that, I'm still working on "The Intensive" during weekends. I've missed a couple shoots because I got called in to work on other projects here and there. Here are some pictures from the last time we filmed. It's in an Italian Restaurant in Saugus, MA:
The times that I've missed working on "The Intensive" are due to two film shoots. The first shoot was in Whitman, MA for a TV/online pilot called "OU2". A lot of people I've worked with before were there but it was also a pleasure meeting new people and having fun making the pilot, which is an office, computer gamer comedy that we are trying to pitch to the G4 Network - http://g4tv.com/
The other shoot was for another TV/online pilot called "Meet Guy Maxwell". A lot of the "OU2" crew worked on this too, which made for a comfortable setting. But it was great meeting new people and working with them too. The show is a mystery, thriller, detective comedy. Some of the scenes were so funny, a few of the crew had to leave the set in order not to ruin a shot because of laughing out loud. I had to step out or hold my laughter a few times when the actors did some improv on some lines that were just ridiculously funny! haha!
Here are some photos from the "Meet Guy Maxwell" filming:
I have a lot of other projects lined up including some re-shoots for "Beg" (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1327699/) and quite a few other TV/online pilots, short films and feature films. Im also going to the Massachusetts Film Industry Wrap Party tomorrow to celebrate a very successful 2008 with many studio films made in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. I was fortunate enough to work on three of the studio films last year:
There are expectated to be more Studio Films and even two Network Television shows that could film in Massachusetts. I'm also very excited to see Plymoth Rock Studios and other sound stages being built to bring in more jobs in the film industry! I hope to work on them in addition to the indie projects I have lined up. 2009 is def looking to be quite a busy year!
