EVERYTHING IS ABOUT TO CHANGE

May 2005, I received the news that the sequel of Harry Potter movies will crash all theatres on the 16th of November. Just imagine what I did when I’ve got to hear the news: jumping all over and screaming to death. Now that I’ve already watched it, I wouldn’t let this time to pass without even posting an entry about it. Mind you, this’ll be long. Long enough to spoil the fun for those who still haven’t watched the movie yet.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire… the continuation of the seven-part series of JK Rowling’s fabulous masterpiece. It starts as two of other magical schools, Beauxbaton & Durmstrang, visit Hogwarts to partake in the legendary Triwizard Tournament. The champions chosen by the goblet of fire shall face three tasks which aim to measure their magical wit and flexibility. Harry, who is ineligible to compete, was chosen by the goblet and is forced to finish all the challenges. Though his life is in mortal peril, he has to go on and prove his worth. And at the same time, he has to be greatly prepared for the evil side is working on to revive their power and to annihilate the good including him as a start.

Graphic Effects/ Sounds and Music

The Goblet of Fire. Portkey. Dragons. Third Task Maze. First Task Egg. Pensieve. Beauxbaton Carriage. Durmstrang Ship.

I can’t gather the words to perfectly describe the magnificent display of computer effects they’ve put to make these things look true. I mean it. Wow! I’m so impressed with their work. I’ve actually read the book for n times. And the exhibitions of the effects are almost the same as those in my imagination.

The tracks chosen really boosted my excitement and eagerness to watch the movie. I’ve seen the trailers of the movie and the sounds pushed me more to watch it as soon as I could. Oh my! I really love Hedwig’s Theme. I just feel certain surge of emotion [probably excitement] whenever I hear this track.

Casting & Characterization:

Cho Chang [Katie Leung] – she’s disappointing. She and Daniel won’t make a dazzling duo. I mean, she looks too Asian for Cho.

Hermione Granger [Emma Watson] – she, in contrary to Cho, is so promising. She’s so pretty in the movie especially in the Yule Ball part. She’s great as an actress. I think she’s done very well.

Cedric Diggory [Robert Pattinson] – his character wasn’t really important in the plot of the novel. But the way the movie goes, I see that the actor was really given a big break because of it. He’s actually cute and yeah, handsome. [Nice jaw!]

Fleur Delacour [Clemence Poesy] – the moment I saw her face in some movie teaser-poster, I said she isn’t beautiful. But actually, though she may not look as pretty as Emma Watson, I still like her. Probably, it’s all because of her poise. She portrayed her character well, I suppose.

Harry Potter [Daniel Radcliffe] – you’ve really got to see the film. He’s grown a lot and I see that he’s tried to build his body. Remember the bathing part in the prefects’ bathroom? Yeah. He’s actually taking a swim there. Just imagine him with a naturally-built body. Hot? Maybe. It's for you to judge. As an actor, I salute his skill for that. Hands down to Dan.

I really liked the movie. Oh! What I mean to say is I loved it! I think it’s the best. [But you know what?] I’ve watched it twice the day I watched it [that was after my classes] and another one just this Sunday with my family. The cuts were good as compared to the third movie. You might be oblivious that you’ve already spent two hours of your time watching it. Really. It would be hard to understand it if you haven’t read the book because some other details were disregarded in the movie. But the movie is good for the eyes. I daresay you’d love the movie after seeing it, though it may not be on the same level as mine. Haha!

By the way, if you’ve already watched the movie, why don’t you tell me parts of the movie that you really liked/loved? Just simply share your thoughts. I'd appreciate that.

LAHAT PINAGHIHIRAPAN PART II

First semester enrollment was so so so easy. Second semester enrollment, on the other hand, was so… frustrating. After two days of enrollment, AT LONG LAST, I stood victoriously from the pressure, stress, and headache brought about by this hell chapter of my nakakatawa’t nakakainis na UP life. Sobrang hirap mag-enroll. Paano naging mahirap? Here is the breakdown of my time expenditure nung enrollment yesterday and today.

Day 1 – Monday

[8:30 – 9:00]          Getting of Form 5a na result nung online pre-enlistment

[9:00 – 10:00]        Getting of Form 5 & Library Clearance for validity to enroll

[10:00 – 10:30]      Getting of Class Cards for college records

[10:30 – 12:00]      Pre-advising of credited subjects

[12:00 – 1:30]        Lunch Break

[1:30 – 5:00]          Manual Enlistment for subjects not taken during online CRS

Bale, I'm lucky enough to have slot in Math1 & ArtStud2

Yeah right. Academic FreedomPwede kaming pumili ng GE subjects. Pwede nga. Kung makakakuha ka. It requires you to have luck, patience and strategy for you to earn those subjects.

Right after I’ve enlisted to the GE subjects that I needed, of course, uwian na. I still have to continue the rest of it the next day pa. Halfway pa lang ako ng entire enrollment procedure so I really have to go back and finish the rest.

Day 2 – Tuesday

[9:00 – 10:30]        Enlistment sana of PanPil19 [Ubos na ang slots. Arggh!]

[10:30 – 11:30]      Post-advising for confimation of subjects

[11:30 – 1:00]        Lunch

[1:00 – 1:30]          Cancellation of Other Pre-enlisted Subjects [French10, Chem1]

[1:30 – 3:00]          Assessment of tuition, miscellaneous, laboratory, etc.

[3:00 – 3:30]          Yahoo! Payment of Assessed Fees

I’m soooo fortunate to have buddies throughout [my math17 friends] ‘cause I don’t know if I’ll live and survive the enrollment without them. Buti na lang natapos ko na. Kasi all things would be harder tomorrow and on the last day of enrollment which is on Thursday. Nakakamatay na nga ngayon, paano pa kaya kapag sa days na yun?

Schedule for Second Semester AY 2005-2006

Mondays & Thursdays

8:30 – 10:00         Chem16: General Chemistry

11:30 – 12:45       Math53: Elementary Analysis I

1:00 – 4:00           Chem16 Laboratory

Tuesdays & Fridays

8:30 – 10:00         Geog1: Places & Landscapes in a Changing World

10:00 – 11:00       PE2JU: Basic Judo

1:00 – 2:30           Math1: Mathematics for Gen. Education

4:00 – 5:30           ArtStud2: Art around Us: Exploring Everyday Life

Ok na rin yan. I have researched some stuffs ‘bout my subjects and here’s what I’ve found out:

      1. Geog1, Math1, PE2JU are the uno-able subjects daw.

      2. ArtStud2 – no idea, tira-tira na kasi.

      3. Math 53 is the easiest math daw among all my math subjects [Math17,53,54]

      4. Chem16 daw would be hard because of the instructor. [Lahat daw may kanya-kanyang tama]

      5. Haha! May kakilala na kaagad ako sa Math53, Chem16, Lab, Geog1 & ArtStud2. So most likely, I won't look as if I'm too shy.

Oh no! Classes will start on Thursday and this means my blog will remain inactive na naman. Well, I’ll still try to update this blog. Bahala na si Lord!

HALF OF YOUR LIFE

Oooh! So boring. Paulit-ulit na lang ang nangyayari sa mga araw ko ngayong term break. For now, magpapakaimpormal muna ako. Ayun, na-rescan ko yung mga previous entries ko at konti lang talaga yung tungkol sa akin. As in yung something personal. So in order to put balance sa mga entries, here are 11 of the things you might not know about me:

1. I’m soooo afraid of the dark so better not bring me to a place like that or I’ll just scream and give you loads of sabunot or kalmot.

2. Kapag naliligo, I spend 5 minutes or so na nakatulala muna sa hangin before I start bathing.

3. Sa aming 4 na magkakapatid, I’m the pinakamaarte sa pagkain, sa pagtulog pati sa kalinisan ng bahay. In general, ako ang pinakamaarte. Artista to noh!

4. Kapag galit na galit ako, I’ll throw to you anything na maaabot ng mga kamay ko. Kahit pa libro or upuan. So better keep your matrix skills pag pinikon mo ako. “Kapag” lang ah.

5. When I study, all the references na kakailanganin sa review ko ay nakabuklat though hindi ko naman binabasa nang sabay-sabay. Nerd-like ba? Hindi naman.

6. Kapamilya ako pero most of the shows na pinapanood ko ay from Channel 7.

7. Pag ako ay frightened by a mumu or the like, I always say, “In the name of Jesus Christ” loudly & with conviction. Kahit pa dinig ng lahat. Kebs lang yan.

8. Ok lang sa akin ang maiwan mag-isa sa bahay dahil taong bahay ako. Kahit pa gabi at mag-brown out pa. Pero all that time for sure ang gagawin ko…. proceed to number 7.

9. Na-holdup na ako once. At ang trauma ay nag-last for 3 months. Believe me, nakaka-paranoid talaga. Kahit pa wala silang nakuha sa akin. Belat!

10. More on rice ang meals ko. Kahit 1 drumstick lang ng chicken and 3 cups of rice, kasya pa rin.

11. Takot ata ako sa dugo pero still I want to be a doc. May angal ka?

Revealing yourself doesn’t indicate that you are seeking out for attention or exposure to the public. But rather it signifies your readiness in letting others to glance on the character that you have. This, in turn, leads you to the sort of people in which you belong.

“Birds of the same feather flock together.”

So show yourself habang maaga pa. Face the real you or else you might miss…. [Read the title]

PRAYER FOR THE DEAD

How was it to let go of a very dear person who passed away? Hard and painful, isn’t it? But have you ever wondered where they are now that they’re dead? Have you ever thought that the place in which they dwell now is much better than where we are at this instant? Yeah. They are not just in a better place. They surely are in the best place.

What I’ve previously said doesn’t mean that we should stop weeping for their death. Our cries are the marks of what a person has fulfilled in this physical world. Our grief measures how much we appreciate a person’s once existence in our lives. This connotes that the more people who cried for the person, the more lives that person has touched.

 Pray, guys, it works!

Let the dead be dead. Accept that they are no longer with us. But rather do not forget them as you continue your own life. Spend a silent time to recall past experiences with them. You may speak to them in the process. And eventually, after delivering the message that you have to say, take a solemn period of prayer. Thank God for crossing both of your roads as it led you to knowing these people.

For us still detained in this world of tests and challenges, let us keep on proving to God that we are worthy of the lives we have borrowed from Him. Soon we’ll all die to face Him in the end. Truly, life is so short. Let’s make the best out of our precious lives!

Happy All Souls’ Day!

WHAT GOES AROUND

Finally, I’m relieved. I was able to get all my grades for this term. I thought all the cramming and all the sacrifices weren’t good enough. But all those pessimistic thoughts were so wrong pala. OA lang siguro ako. Hindi. OA talaga ako.

Just to give a reminder of what I’ve taken this semester, here the list of my subjects. As you skim on them, bahala kayo kung manghuhula kayo ng grade ko dyan.

Math17 – College Algebra and Trigonometry

Geol11 – Principles of Geology

Philo11 - Logic

SocSci1 – Fundamentals of Behavioral Science

Eng11 – Literature and Society

PE2V – Basic Volleyball

Thank God! US [University Scholar] ako! Akala ko I won’t make it. Salamat talaga Lord.

By the way, my classmate/friend in math 17 was the winner in the Seventeen Magazine Model Search. She’s the cover girl of the November 2005 issue. Galing noh? Congrats, Camille! Here’s a quick link to the site: Seventeen Magazine. Siya yung katabi ni Champ. Astig!

Finally, please make me a sensible testimonial naman. I badly need it eh. Nakipagpustahan kasi ako. By the first week of November, whoever gets the most number of testimonials wins the pustahan. Ang matalo, may consequence. I have to win. Sobrang bigat ng ipapagawa eh. Please?!?. O, here’s another quick link to my Friendster Profile. Diretso testimonial na yan ah! Thanks!

Haayy salamat.
