THAT'S MATHEMATICS

The fun when two parallels meet
Or a group with an action discrete
Or the thrill when some decimals repeat,
That's mathematics.
A nova, incredibly bright,
Or the speed of a photon of light,
Andrew Wiles, proving Fermat was right,
That's mathematics.
The odds of a bet when you're rolling two dice,
The marvelous fact that four colors suffice,
Slick software setting a price,
And the square on the hypotenuse
Will bring us a lot o' news.
In genes a double helix we see
And we cheer when an algebra's free
And in fact life's a big PDE.
We'll be on the go
When we learn to grow with mathematics.

With Lagrange everyone of us swears
That all things are the sums of four squares,
Like as not, three will do but who cares.
That's mathematics.
Sporadic groups are the ultimate bricks,
Finding them took some devilish tricks,
Now we know--there are just 26.
That's mathematics.
The function of Riemann is looking just fine,
It may have its zeros on one special line.
This thought is yours and it's mine.
We may soon learn about it
But somehow I doubt it.
Don't waste time asking whether or why
A good theorem is worth a real try,
Go ahead--prove transcendence of pi;
Of science the queen
We're all of us keen on mathematics.

Only 6 months until I am 18!

Yeah yeah, some *many* of my friends are/will be 18 before I am.  But I can still lord that over Ali, Jessi, Puneet and Amanda Stettin.

ANTM marathon at 2!

Dear God, I want this dress!

Isn't it the most perfect thing you have ever seen?

Yes, I thought so.

Yesterday/last night was absolutly SUPER fun!  The day was kind of boring, but just a normal day, really.  Then the night (starting around 6) was FUN.  First, Megeen came to get me, and we went to Kmart.  Why must we venture into the ghetto of Lakewood?  Harry Potter LEGOS and M&Ms.  Then, TO THE LOUVRE!  No, to 7-11, where we purchased delectable slurpees.  Then, to the Grandview park, where me and Meg were the first ones of "the gang" to arrive for frisbee.  Then Geoff arrived, scaring both me and Meg.  Then Ali, Joe, Zach, Keith, and Jung's little brother? came along.  Later, Michael Adams came too.  He is tan.  So we just ran around for a while, throwing the frisbee and all that.  Then we actually played Ultimate Frisbee, and it was FUN.  Me, Ali, Keith and Jung Jr were on a team that WON.  Because even though they had Geoff and Zach, they also had Joe and Meg.  And I am like the same ability as Meg (possibly better, or rather, more reckless, not more skilled) but Joe is afraid, breakable, and he has asthma.  But we took a water break, and never started playing again.  Tossing the frisbees and water bottle soon escalated into the boys trying to kill each other in a playful manner, and the invention of the game "Bennis".  Also, we assigned Harry Potter characters to everyone, me and Meg LARPed HP and Keith got excited because we knew some about Dungeons and Dragons.  And then, the lady policeman was looking at us and it was getting dark, so we adjourned to Sharis.  Favorite waitress was there, yay.  We saw a picture of her baby, he looks like an old man, but better looking that a lot of babies.  10 weeks old already, crazy.  Then it was just a party all up in the hizzouse, with lots of inapropriate touching.  M'escuse, m'escuse!  Oh, bonjiourno!  And catching of fish.  Tres amusante.  But alas, I had a headache through most of Sharis, so by the time Amanda Melissa and Sco came, I was ready to head out and die.  But I didn't, and it was very fun.

And now, I had Matt Cowans cell and home phone numbers.  Because he wanted to come play, but was shy about it, so he wanted us to call him.  Should have just came.  (He is running with the XC people... college, Matt Cowan, college...)  So methinks that another round of frisbee is necessary, yes?
