Sorry I did not cite yesterday's homework. We worked on counting by 5s, completing workbook page73. We also practiced reading new words, completing pages 135-136 from the language arts workbook.
Today in math we worked on recognizing when a number was even or odd. Students should practice this skill, working on page 72. In phonics, students should review short vowel sounds, completing page 139. We will complete a short vowel phonics test tomorrow.
In spelling, students should make sure they have completed their spelling packet and are ready for tomorrow's test.

Today in math we worked on finding numbers that were ten more or ten less than another number. Students should complete workbook page 71 to focus on this skill.
In phonics we are continuing to work on "r" blends. Students are to concentrate on the following blends while completing workbook page 9: fr, gr, pr, tr.
In spelling, students are to choose 5 words and make sentences with them.

Happy New Year! Also, welcome back! I'm sorry so many students were absent. Here's today's homework.
In math, we reviewed number order to 100. Students are to complete page 70, filling in the missing numbers.
In spelling and reading we are working on words with "r" blends. Today the students are to write their words 4 times each. This week's words are: trip, trick, drink, grass, frog, crack, bring, they.

Today in math we worked on determining which numbers, 1-100, come before, after, or between other numbers. Students should complete pages 219-20 regarding these skills.
In phonics, students should review short vowel sounds, completing page 64.

Today in math we worked on place value, noting that digits stand for different amounts depending on their place in a number. Students should complete page 66, working on this concept.
In grammar, students are to correct the sentences on worksheet page 9, changing the first letter in the sentence to a capital and adding the correct mark at the end (period or question mark).
There will be no spelling packet this week.
