Language Arts: Do pages 170 and 171.

| Hello Second Grade Community:
Welcome back and happy Monday! I am so happy to be seeing you all again! I hope you had a terrific holiday. I want to thank you all for your assistance collecting toys and toiletries for the homeless. We also brought in over 100 cans of food for the needy. I am so proud of our class. I also want to thank you for the wonderful gifts.
The riddle for today is:
What can run but cannot walk?

The homework for today is as follows:
Reading: Please read for at least 20 minutes, and record the information on the log. Also, December book reports are overdue, and January reports are due by the end of the month. If the log is lost, please write the information on a piece of paper.
Math: Please do the Simple Solutions lesson # 45.
Spelling: Please write each word four times in your neatest handwriting. Writing is part of the homework grade.
Language Arts: Please do page 147 which is about writing words in ABC order.

Happy Tuesday! Thank you to all who have bringing in cans for the food bank. We are winning the school competition for bringing in the most cans! Keep on bringing them as the food bank benefits. Please bring in $3.00 towards the Christmas party. We are having pizza and some desserts. Finally, please bring in a toy for the Toys-For-Tots program.

Happy Monday. I hope you had a nice weekend. This is the last week to turn in cans of food for the Bay Area food banks and bring in a new toy for Toys For Tots. The class that brings in the most cans in the school wins Free dress, and I wil cancel homework for a night.

Handwriting: Points are taken off al handwriting is not readable and is messy.
