Well, the semester is over and it is time for a little break. I hope everyone had a warm and wonderful Christmas/Hanukkah/Eid/etc. . .

Happy New Years a few days early.

If I have learned anything in this lifetime it would definitely be that life has a way of taking its own course. You make plans and set goals and with one moment everything can be wiped away. Ambitions, while they drive us to be better and stronger, are all but useless. You can be the brightest of the brightest and the best of the best; you can work hard and diligently, yet with one slip the road can take a hairpin turn leaving you with only one path to follow. I have come to realize there is but one plan for our lives and it isn’t our own. Just pray that everything fairs well in the end.

I love spring. It’s kind of bittersweet—hopeful, yet at the same time it closes the chapter on another year. It’s a time of rebirth and boundless possibilities. I admire the spring, as strange as that sounds. With its optimism and beauty it can become anything.
