Singapore Day 6

Hahaha...sooooo sorry people for being in such a long hiatus...Been busy and now lecturers are pouring even more assignments over us like there is no tomorrow. lolz...

On the last day of Singapore, I had Indian dinner with my aunt. She had always wanted to visit this place but no teman hahaha. Vivo City is a great place for meals. No Japanese food cuz they are always the same : P well almost.

Go India Restaurant is located along the row of restaurants in Vivocity. Not bad for a change XD

Go India Restaurant

The view was great and inside the restaurant was extremely cold. facing Harbourfront! (even Vivo City building itself) We sat outside instead : P Seems durian pancake and handmade noodles (lunch) didn't provide enough heat for us XD

Harbour Front View

During ordering I saw this...

Menu 2

Saffron!!! Hahaha straight away I place an order for this. lolz.. After placing orders, they served papadam.

Papadam2

=.= was my first reaction. It's burnt. Anyway it taste ok maybe a bit too much heat from the pepper. Yes, its pepper loaded.

Papadam

I wasn't sure what's the red sauce but the green one is mint. Yumz.. Then comes the prawns.

Prawn

If I am not mistaken it called something prawn with nutmeg and ginger, no sign of nutmeg also. Nonetheless, its fresh, huge, succulent and salty. Hahaha who say all good comment must be placed together? Yeah salty. Maybe its meant to be eaten with rice. A while later, stuffed mushroom with cheese was served.

Stuffed mushroom with cheese 2

Yeah...I was wondering the same thing! Mushroom stuffed with cheese? Indian?! Indeed its Indian. How 'katak di bawah tempurung' was I. I forgot northern Indians make their own cheese. hahaha. Thanks Durianberry for telling me.

Stuffed mushroom with cheese 3

Yeah! Stuff with cheese to the brim and extra melted mozarella on top!! Sooo delicious!

Stuffed mushroom with cheese 1

Shortly, rice arrived. I was like woah...so arromatic!

Safrron briyani rice 2

People, this is vege, rice, spice and everything nice : ) Long grain rice rocks! So fluffy and light. Felt like eating bee hoon XD

Safrron briyani rice

We also ordered mutton curry which taste superb....not very spicy, rich and a bit sweet sourish. Dunno la we just wallop half plate of the mutton. Hahaha. Didn't take picture...Was too hungry XD

To finish off, we shared a pot of Masala Tea. Just like Aunty Lilian, I also thought it a tea drink with weird spice taste. It doesn't and was damn good.

Masala tea 1

Thick, smooth, rich with milk but still can taste the tea. Woah...*swoon* My ultimate cup of 'teh' lolz...I wonder they do it the traditional way that is boiling the tea in water then add in milk to the boiling tea. Simply fabulicious.

Singapore Day 5

Haha sorry people I remembered wrongly...I tend to lost track of time when I am not in Penang. I didn't go far as I am lazy. Just visited Hougang Mall. After shopping, it time to yum cha : ) Yeah some habit I cultivated in Penang with my friends.

I saw this corner, "Mei Heong Yuen"...The first thing I saw was steam milk custard and steam egg custard!!! They also have Mango pudding, Mango with Pomelo and sago, egg custard, black sesame paste, and loads of other paste. I saw other people eathing..Hm...Have a feeling they are a bit too thick.

Mei Heong Yuen corner copy

SGD 3 per bowl for Milk Custard...Haiyah don't care...just order. They are sooooo goood!!! Silky soft and smooth as baby's ass...opz...Wish Penang sells this but I think they will be having a hard time selling that custard for more than RM6 perbowl  : P I never had milk custard before.

Milk pudding

Aunty haven't called me to confirm if we gonna having dinner together, so I ventured out of the mall to see if there was anything else to eat. Shihlin Taiwan Street Snack booth had caught my attention on my previous visits but never got to try it. Can you imagine I was standing in front 2 booths, Old Chang Kee and Shihlin, going back and forth because I couldn't decide which to eat! Well, I need to keep space for dinner rite?

XXL Crispy chicken

It's pretty good. 3 words...Crispy, tender and juicy....serious...Tastewise..hmm maybe I prefer it to slightly saltier. No wonder people asked them to add more of the greyish powder and not the red one. Kinda spicy.

I cought some videos on the preparation. The fillet is soooooo damn huge. It's even bigger than my both palms put together!! If not mistaken its SGD3 sumthing...hahaha chicken chop also not that big. Serious!

Wahahaha...Yupz people today I am having Japanese meal again.

This time is ramen for dinner and Hokkaido Fair in town. What is Hokkaido Fair? Hohohoho...It's a seasonal event where everyone in Singapore has a chance to savour Hokkaido seafood and desserts!!! hehe...Hokkaido is famous for their milk and seafood, agree?

Ajisen Ramen

After trying the crab, I shall try another famous seafood from there too : ) So I choose you! Ajisen Ramen as my dinner place! Lolz...paiseh I'd been watching too many Iron Chef on You Tube. Hm I dunno if the fair is still on but at that time Hokkaido Scallop Ramen was available so I ordered a set and picked scallop ramen by adding another SGD1 Total damage SGD14.80 Hahahahaha! Worth la wei!!! You will know why... Never question my passion towards scallop. They taste fantastic in raw, fried, stirfried and now in soup!

Ajisen Scallop Ramen

There were 8 of it in one bowl! O.o Okay they are not super huge and only the size of a 20 sen coin but I tell you they soooooo sweeet! *my heart melts* No fishy seafood smell. All I could taste was fresh and sweet. lolz...Ohhh and their milky soup....*swoon* So bahagia....As you can see there is taugeh in the soup. I like it. Sorta making the ramen has depth in taste and texture when you eat it.

Hokkaido Scallop

I think if I wait another lifetime also couldn't get such noodles with such scallops at such price in Penang. No way. Haiyah Sakae Singapore and Sakae Penang already has a difference, what more Ajisen Ramen. Yeah Ajisen Ramen has reached Penang's shore but I don't think I would visit it anytime soon. They don't have Hokkaido Scallop Ramen XD

Tako side dish

As a set it comes with a plate of side dish either maki, tako or tempura. So chosed tako, my favourite. I think I had almost 30 ekor tako ady =.= throughout the Singapore trip. My plate has 10 tako!!!! O.o and each of them are of  standard size. Not those tiny tako you find in Sushi Kings.

No worries eating in Singapore : ) Thumbs up for their quality.

Singapore Trip Day 2 : Christmas in the Tropics ;)

Hm I am still not used to the blogspot thingy... ><....Anyway, when I was updating the "Singapore Trip Day 2", it doesn't have pictures of Orchard Road. Well, thanks to Windows Vista, I wasn't able to edit my videos. Oh well...

During the 2nd day of my trip, aunty was busy so I had to go about on my own.

The Hippo tour is free for all visitors. Go register and hop on. Oh yeah, remember to register early cuz it can be a sticky situation if you miss the registration window. I had to walk all the way to Hirren just to find out that I am only able to register as a walk in visitor at 6.30pm =.= It was only 5.20pm.

I sat around for about 10 minutes (leg sore like mad after walking more than 5 hours). As I rest, I look over the streets. People everywhere =.= Ekks!

I continue to enjoy the lightings after the ride. Felt so romantic while walking down the street. *swoon*

Crystal Forest :3

So dreamy don't you think?

IMG_4303

Wish Penang McD is like that >< sitting at the streets enjoying coffee/tea with beautiful lights! Yeah you read it right, McD =.= Hmm...ok...Mc Cafe...

IMG_4243

Because I was going about alone, its easier for me to move around and take pictures wherever and whenever I want. Some shots were taken in the middle of the road : P

I actually spent a bit of time studying the traffic light timing and the traffic direction before shooting. On my previous visits, I wasn't able to do so because I was either with my relatives/mom or my cousin sis *roll eyes* I covered areas from Paragon to Shaw House XD

Although there is no white christmas for me, Christmas in the Tropics will do XD Great job STB! This year's lightings is fabulous : )

IMG_4235

It's early I know. It doesn't matter. The mood is here...hehehe

Happy dreaming!

Singapore Day 3

Back to Penang now! ><  I can't believe I will be missing the Louvre exhibition at Singapore's National Museum!!!!!! I already missed Leonardo Da Vinci's exhibition at 2005!!!! Aiyoooooo!!!!Why???Why???? See! USM, you are holding back your students from being exposed to more stuff by reopening school that early! ARGH! And not to mention the Art fest last year!!! NoooOO!!!! *Sakit hati*

Had too much the before...so opted for something non rice or noodled. Went to CompassPoint for lunch. I saw lots of mini pots on the cleaner's trolley...Saw some people eating it, looks good so ordered one without rice =.=

Tada SGD 4.80 Fish mini pot....

IMG_4454

Woo must be really lucky...manage to get some steam into this shot. I think there are about 6 huge pieces of fried fish fillet. They have no fishy smell and abolutely no bones...By looking at the pinkish flesh I suspect its dory. Lolz...I meant the fake dory XD

Anyway, its well marinated and soup was ok...no complain.

IMG_4459

After lunch, went back to aunt's place and rest. We (aunty, uncle and Shuen) went for movies, Beowulf...er....no comment ...

Nightfalls and went Takashimaya after movies for dinner.

Aint it beautiful?

IMG_4462

Ekkks camera tak cukup besar....

IMG_4466

Forgot the name of the restaurant but its in Takashimaya 3rd floor I think...opposite a Thai restaurant.

IMG_4470

I like the cups and bowls used in this restaurant...haha...

IMG_4473

Cousin bro ordered this...

The bento I ordered is too huge to be taken pic. Stuff everywhere XD So I took the pics individually.

IMG_4490

IMG_4483

IMG_4491

Aiks exceeded my storage limit....

Anyway I had this....

IMG_4489

Hokkaido crab...hmm...Hokkaido Fair is every where...This is a huge crab claw of Hokkaido crab...BBq-ed...I think its over barbequed and over seasoned...what a waste...but luckilly certain parts are just nice and succulent...Fresh and chunky meat...maybe too huge so the flesh is not that sweet.

IMG_4499

I miss out the sashimi cuz I used up all the storage space...

IMG_4493

Salmon looks kinda pale compare to Ichiban but tastewise its alright...

IMG_4501

Hahaha...I like the way this restaurants serve its food on nice looking plates...

Will update more later....

Happy drooling : )
