Fragment of thoughts
Surprisingly cool about this. Enjoying the ride, you can say, the little things I learn
day by day. The change you’ve always anticipated might not always be for
the best, as you can only tell when the time for the change comes. Then you have to decide whether to stick to your
expectations all this while, or learn how to go for something that actually is
for the best. Been practicing yoga regularly & thoroughly enjoying it. Managed to catch up with the babes, which feels great. Less heart to heart with GCC due to lack of time. But after last night’s outing, I know we will be fine
despite our busy schedules. Speaking of which, I really appreciate N’s effort with all
the postcards from all over Eastern Europe
& multiple phone calls. Absolutely makes my day :D Someone from the past tried to make peace with the past,
without realizing that people have all already moved on. Anyhow, I do acknowledge that everyone move on with life at
different paces, so there. I’m starting to really enjoy my work with the University as
an alumni committee. Besides the limitless wine supply *hic* ;p, it’s really nice
to have that link with the University to continue our contributing/reaping
relationship. Treasure Hunt this Sunday, woopie! Should be fun. Photography wise, it’s been fruitful and fun. Meanwhile, Europe pics are
updated here. It was hella tough to sort through 3,000 images without
missing the places & people that made up the experience, and still only
have about a dozen or so which I really like. The potluck birthday get-together on Sat evening was lovely. Just friends, plenty of food, some intriguing games & a
gripping soccer game, it’s been a while since I had such a great time with the
usual suspects. Just what I needed to unwind after quite a few hectic work
weeks.

| Distance is just a state of mind
For those who know me, that’s something that I’ve had (as a nick thingy) for
a long while. I truly believe in this line, that it is just a state of
mind. Afterall, the people that you truly connect with will not be
far from your thoughts most of the time despite the fact that they are
physically apart from you. Especially with the wonders that technology offer us these
days, it’s technically even easier to stay in touch when you are apart than
when you are in the same city or something (due to something called ‘taking
things for granted’ syndrome)
But there are certain days where it’s just harder to take
than others. I hope and wish that I could just drop everything and fly
there, to that city where I long so much to lay my own eyes upon, the streets
where we will stroll & the laughter that comes being evoked by the deepest
joy you can feel.
Today is one of those days. One where the physical distance & time differences are
acutely felt, leisure paces of conversations is impossible and all you have are
millions of thoughts condensed into handwritings and it travels through those
thousands of miles to reach you. Where that is ALL you have.
Sigh. I’ve had some really good days, but somehow today I just
wish distance isn’t such a big part in my life.
On happier notes, everything else is going great. Accd to GCC, I met with both my future and my past on the
same day yesterday :D He could be quite right, but I’ve learnt long ago to just
let things be as time always have lil surprises in store for us.
Photography wise – I find myself getting back into it with a
gusto, bordering on obsession. Wonder if that’s a good or a bad thing.
Singapore
road trip was alright. Revelations in certain things and Phantom was a
disappointment as expected. The other bits of the trip was good though & definitely
a sign that we should all do it again.
Thanks for listening
to me. For coming up with the
little things that make me happy despite your hectic schedule. For the falling back
which I greatly need on a day like this. The 15 minute phone
calls replaces our day long banter, but only makes it mean more.

Sin in its purest form…

Baskin Robbins gives 31% off their delectable range of 31
different flavoured ice creams on the 31st of every month. So, being the gluttons that we are, it became our past time on
a lazy Saturday afternoon…

The boys are crazy – they whacked their whole individual
pints & I’m the loser who can’t finish my pint ;p The highlight of it all is more of the taste testing of
scooping from other people’s pints to try out all the lovely flavours. The Strawberry Cheesecake had real cream cheese chunks in it…
mmmmmmmm and there were real chunks of macadamia nuts in Macadamia…. *falls into a sugar-induced coma * But most of all, I got to spend some good ol’ quality time
with the boys :D
Singapore
bound this weekend, woopie! Time for some catch ups & road trip sing-alongs as well
as being disappointed with Phantom of the Opera (I’ve already know that I will
as it would not be able to match up to the London West End cast) Anyhow, I could use a short break from the city that is KL.
On another note, I’m shopping around for a yoga school. Shortlisted a few & will be trying out one today. Yay. I love to stretch & really enjoyed it the last time. Especially in light of my recent injuries, I have no choice
but to rehabilitate via low-impact toning workouts, so yoga it is.
Have a good week ahead.

| Drastic moves:

I lopped off my small-back-length hair yesterday. It's not an impulsive decision, it's a change which I've decided to make lately.
The presence of people in my life, each of them have so much to bring to me. Don't ask me why I was not compelled to update this space, it's just one of those things. The rest of my thoughts lie in fragments of emails, shared with this one person which is more than 10,000km away, our thoughts intertwined in daily exchanges. Early morning phone calls from UK makes me smile. A kind of drowsiness, laziness when the phone rings, a lazy smile comes along for the me who have just woke up, and for him who is just falling into slumberness.
Aside from that, I drove along the West Coast of Peninsular Malaysia for business last week. You reap what you sow, I totally agree with that. Had some really unexpected gems that made my day. Met up with some old friends, under the strangest of circumstances. 4 people, 4 hours and a 10 year old friendship works wonders. A dose of bliss which should only be savoured occasionally as not to lose the loveliness.
My feature in the Uni prospectus will be up soon. I'm officially a Melbourne University Alumni committee after our Alumni Dinner last week. My challenge is to rebrand the alumni, so young Melb Uni grads, pls make sure you fill at least 3 tables next year! It's nice to be involved with Uni stuff again. I had such a great time working with the Uni over the years. MUOSS, SALP, International Office and now, Alumni. Keep up the spirit & ties.
The plethora of birthdays this month meant I had a parcel on its way to France, a phone call to Melbourne, exchanges to the UK for my 2 fave boys and one belated phone call to someone which I've decidedly ignored since I got back from Europe (not intentionally, well OK maybe half intentional) Catched up with the boys over dinner & drinks and karaoke with the usual suspects tomorrow. Woopie.
Since my last entry, I'm now a proud car owner. :D A great sense of accomplishment, really. And I hosted a wedding. There's so much happening and it hit me only when I had 10 pages of backlog to read on my Subscriptions page. Aiee.
Have a good weekend!
