So ... even though I've turned traitor and become a LiveJournal addict, I've decided to try and update my Xanga every once in a while.  My LJ has become pretty depressing, so this can be my happy!blog.

So, let's see... what's been happening with me?  I just finished up my first semester at Penn State Harrisburg.  I learned SO MUCH this semester, and I worked ridiculously hard in the process.  Next semester should prove challenging as well because I'll be taking part in "classroom field experiences" every day Monday through Thursday from 8:30am to 11:30am.  Then I'll have classes in the afternoon.  I'm just glad I won't have classes on Fridays again.  I know how my Fridays will be spent ... S-L-E-E-P-I-N-G.

Anyway, I'll try to update this thing a little more often.  I made it all prettyful to encourage me to do so!  XD

In case you haven't figured it out by now, I no longer use this blog.  My current blog can be found at http://www.livejournal.com/users/ceruleanblu/

I've been posting there for the past couple months and this is the blog I'm finally going to stick with.  But don't worry - I'll stick continue to check out everyone else's Xangas and comment on them.

Tomorrow I'll comment on The Passion of the Christ, but right now I've got to finish my English paper and go watch the Oscars (or at least the Red Carpet arrivals, for now!)

Here are my predictions for who will win:

Best Picture: The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King
Best Director: Peter Jackson - Lord of the Rings
Best Actor: Sean Penn - Mystic River
Best Actress: Charlize Theron - Monster
Best Supporting Actor: Tim Robbins - Mystic River
Best Supporting Actress: Renee Zellweger - Cold Mountain
Best Animated Feature Film: Finding Nemo
Best Adapted Screenplay: Seabiscuit
Best Original Screenplay: Sofia Coppola - Lost in Translation
Best Original Score: Lord of the Rings: Return of the King
Best Original Song: "Into the West" - Lord of the Rings: Return of the King

Alright, enough for now.  Those are just the major categories.  This is such an exciting event for me!!! I'm such a dork, but oh, well! I must go watch the Oscar pre-show coverage! It's LIVE!

It's been a while since I've posted here.  If you wanna see what's been going on for the past few days, feel free to check out my Live Journal (http://www.livejournal.com/users/ceruleanblu/).

I was sick all weekend.  My cold that I was finally getting over decided to come back and reinfect me! I had a really bad sore throat all weekend.  I didn't even want to eat because my throat hurt so bad when I swallowed.  And you guys definitely know there's something wrong if I don't want to eat!  LOL.  So I skipped my two classes on Monday and went to the doctor, thinking I had strep throat.  She was like, "Well, yeah, your throat is really red and irritated, but it's just a virus. Your other cold just never went away, or you got nfected by another cold when your immune system was weakened." So, I'm stuck taking OTC meds.

I'm really hoarse today.  I hardly had a voice at all! It really sucked at work, because the little heathen children were being SOOOO bad and I couldn't yell at them with no voice! They just laughed at me! Spiteful little demons...

Well, I need to do some research for Environmental Science.  We get some time tomorrow to plan for our group project (not due till the end of the semester).  My group is doing Environmental Consumerism.  I know right now you're all probably like, "WTF is that?" It's basically anti-consumerism and the need to always buy more and have the best of the best.  You know, people who buy a new car every year just to have the best new thing.  We have to prove that there are limits to consumerism that have quite deadly effects on the environment.  It mind sound kind of boring, but it's pretty interesting to me.  Shout-out Alert: CDHS Envirothon Team 2003! Go Courtney, Lisa, and Andrea! And Jackie, too!

Well, homework awaits.

Today was..."interesting"....

I was up late working on my so-called group paper for English, which I pretty much ended up writing entirely on my own.  Ah, such is life.  Hence, why I HATE group projects because people just aren't responsible or don't care.  I guess I'm just too much of a kiss-ass, grade-grubber.

So I only got a few hours of sleep and I had to go to English class to take a....GRAMMAR TEST!!!... and hand in the paper (along with all of our rough drafts, internet research, peer review sheets, and self-evaluations...so it was like, 2 inches thick! LOL).

Then I had to go to Child Growth and Development which was scary to say the least.  Imagine really scary pictures of the female reproductive system drawn on the chalkboard....and then your prof explaining conception and fertilization to you....*shudder*

Well, then I had a nice little break and a chance to read the newspaper from, like, the past 3 days.  It drives me nuts if I miss a day! I need to know what's going on!

Then I had to go to work, which was INSANE.  Here is the lesson of the day, which I certainly learned today: NEVER EVER, under any circustances, FEED CHILDREN SUGARY FOOD! Today they had a Valentine's Day party, so everything they ate today was sugary.  Cookies, brownies, jello, sugary fruit punch, cupcakes..... Oh my GOD!!!!! When I walked in, Melissa was like, "Oh, you're gonna have FUN with them this afternoon." Yeah, thanks a lot.... So, to make a long story short, I had 10 rambunctious 3-year-olds screaming, and running around, and hitting each other, and falling on the ground, and RUNNING WITH SCISSORS! I don't know how many times I told them not to run with scissors! They're all excited because they learned how to use them yesterday, so now all they want to do is cut paper into billions and billions of tiny scraps (which I have to clean up, mind you...) which inevitably wind up all over the floor.  I must have yelled at them for making a mess and running around the room with scissors fifty times! For damn's sake (LOL! Sorry, Courtney...I HAD to add that in!).

I did get to watch Bush's speech from Thursday, though.  I had classes, so I taped the arrival at HIA and his whole speech at Central Dauphin.  He couldn't have done this visit last year, when I may have gotten to go! My brother was pissed off b/c he didn't get picked.  They only picked, like 200 students, which is really stupid, because wasn't the whole visit for the kids? I laughed when Mazz was talking, because even though he had a little note card to remember what to say (probably so he'd remember Bush's name and that he was the 43rd president...LOL) I thought that he'd screw up somehow.  But he didn't.  I also laughed, because Mrs. Deitmen was her typical self.  It was kinda cool to see the old high school and some of my teachers and old classmates.

Well, I'm gonna go watch Access Hollywood now.  I missed ET.  Shoot... oh, well.  You are all more important to me than a tv show! Someone email me and let me know how you're all doing.  Or just post a comment on my chatterbox to let me know you're reading!
