| been back in s'pore for quite a while now... so now i'm here to blog about the trip... hahaz... i left on the 8th of Dec... we flew by Cathay Pacific cos' of promotion... hahaz... turns out that the plane also got the personal entertainment system thingy... hahaz... so i watched princess diaries 2... hahaz... wanted to watch the last time but couldn't... at least now can watch... hahaz.. quite nice la... more funny than anything else.. hahaz... we landed at 3 plus... then we took bus from airport to tsim sha tsui area... hahaz... unfortunately, it was our first time going to this hotel, so we missed the stop... hahaz... then, we walked very far to the hotel(turns out that it was one big round)... the hotel's name was stanford hillview... and no wonder it was called hillview man... hahaz... we found it perched on a 45-degree slope... wa.. climbing was difficult man, what with our heavy luggage... hahaz... by the time we reached the hotel, it was 4 plus...we checked in, put down our luggage and went out to "explore" and orientate ourselves with the area... hahaz... i fergot to mention that my cuzzins were also coming for the trip, a first... hahaz... but they flew valuair, so they arrived at 8 plus... hahaz... i remember quite clearly that when i was in hong kong in 2001, i loved eating at the "cha can teng" (tea house)... it was s'pore's equivalent to a hawker center... except much smaller and probably had a greater variety of food... hahaz... they had food ranging from roasted goose to spaghetti, from salted chicken to beef steak and rice... hahaz... of course, what is a trip to hong kong without eating their ever-famous roasted goose(siew ngor)?hahaz... we ate that for dinner... hahaz... service in hong kong is sensational man... in the cha can teng right... your food comes 45 sec. after you place order... hahaz... so fast right? hahaz... and they are very efficient... they carry 8 cups of tea at a time... hahaz... and their menu items are all shortened... hahaz... for ease of ordering... they also have this special drink... a mixture of lemon tea and coke with a touch of ginger(leng lok)... good for people with a cold... hahaz... sad to say i didn't get to try it... hahaz... at night, i went to temple street(miu gei) with my rents... we saw a lotta stuff... having been to hong kong for the 6th time, i've never been to temple street before... hahaz... either that or i don't remember... hahaz... we saw this guy selling imitation watches... for brands like rolex, tudor, patek phillipe, cartier, franck muller, omega, bvlgari, christian dior, brietling and breguet...hahaz... i wanted to buy a cartier watch but whoa, it costed HK$500(94) so we didn't buy... hahaz... sadly, temple street also has vendors selling sex stuff... ranging from sex toys to condoms to porn movies... sad man... spoil the image of hong kong... but that is life i guess... it's quite a lucrative business might i add... hahaz... temple street also houses a lotta fortune tellers... hahaz... they line the streets... anywayz, we went back to the hotel after a while planning to come back later in the week... in the hotel, i was bunking with my cuzzin (the older bro-14) and my grandma... and the toilet was friggin small man... hahaz... no space to move.. hahaz... on the second day, we walked around on the streets... we were supposed to go to goldfish street (kum yu gei) first... and, as it's name suggests, the street houses all sorts of pet shops, mainly aquariums... hahaz.. some of the interesting animals on sale were piranha, chameleon and piglets... hahaz... there were even genetically engineered fish that have neon colours on their fins... after that we went to this bird garden... along the way, we passed a street selling a lotta flowers... unfortunately, my cuzzin and i were wearing black... we were quite afraid as black angers bees, and boy there was an abundance of bees there... hahaz... the bird garden wasn't that fantastic la... there were song birds, love birds, canaries, budgies, mynahs, magpies, cockatoos and grasshoppers for sale.... hahaz... the grasshoppers were for feeding la... but they were sold in different sizes lorz... hahaz.. got super big ones and tiny ones... after the bird garden we went to what we thought was lady's market (luei yan gei) but turned out to be fatt yuen gei... hahaz... cos' it was too small to be luei yan gei... hahaz... we finally found lady's market after some pondering over the map... hahaz... lady's market sells all kindsa things ranging from bags to toys, lingerie to clothing, CDs to sunglasses and jewellery.. hahaz... there were also fake watches for sale la... amazingly... my dad and i saw a franck muller selling for HK$300... hahaz... so we immediately bought it... we also bought a cartier one for HK$280... cheaper than temple street sia... hahaz... we also bought a lotta things from lady's market... hahaz...i bought a black belt... at that time i had no idea why but my eye was sore... hahaz... at night we went to the avenue of stars but not before stopping by teddy bear kingdom... hahaz... got a lotta big teddy bears on display... at that time, my eye was really very sore... so pain... hahaz... we went to the avenue of stars to see the "x'mas light up"... but it was nothing lorz... we just stand there for 10min then go back le... haiz... when i went back to the hotel, i checked my eye in the mirror... turns out that it was my eyelid that was sore... weird right? hahaz... but it was painful la... anywayz, i started on "da vinci code"... very exciting sia... hahaz... but it really caused a lotta controversy... hahaz... on the third day, we went to ocean park while my dad went to shen zhen for business... i've been to ocean park as many times as i've been to hong kong... hahaz... so you can imagine how boring it was... hahaz.. but i was there to accompany my cuzzins there... it's their first time... hahaz... then my stupid bro played the raging river ride and lost his blardie specs... he just made them 2 months ago lorz... they cost S$300 plus lorz... and he lost them just like that... hahaz... well, i won't say much about ocean park since it was so bleedy boring... hahaz... we took the bus back to admiralty(kum zhong) station to take MTR back to tsim sha tsui... a shocking sight greeted us underground... there was a BIG crowd of people waiting for the train going towards tsim sha tsui man... and i'm talking about a LOTTA people... hahaz... anywayz... my "eyelid" was getting better already... so no worries there... hahaz... i'll con't next time.. too long le... hahaz... |
