3pm please.please.please. come faster. pleeeeease.

the professor just insulted me. while trying to be nice. dammit.

the guy who sits next to me in one of our classes absolutely hates my guts. absolutely. god knows what i did to offend him and all his ancestors. but apparently i did this sometime within the past couple of months. whenever i attempt to be nice and strike up a conversation, he is GAAAH-RROOOON-TEEED to shoot me down with a blank stare. even though he has been nothing short of a total ass, i made the simple gesture of holding the door open for him and offered him a smile. the plan? kill him with kindness. response? it literally was painful for him to look at me and say thanks. two words. douche. bag. no need for thanks, but try not to look like you want to kill me no? it is what it is. he hates me and that's that. you can't win them all.

have you ever had one of those days...

shit piles on top of shit piles on top of shit. pardon the french there. your boy/girlfriend chews the heck out of you. essentially rips you a new one for no good reason. work sucks more so than usual -- and here you were thinking it couldn't get any worse. the weather is crap. you're tired and all you really want is to crawl into bed and snoooze. so you get off reeeally late from work (but of course. we wouldn't have it any other way.) and are in one foul mood. and everything changes in a matter of minutes.

man did i have one of those days. while i was waiting for the cab that sure was taking its sweet time, all i could think about was calling the cab company and giving them an earful. but low and behold, who comes along and decides to finally grace me with their presence? ah the cab. i had a big bag in one hand and was just going to heave it into the backseat. but the cab driver hops out of his car, smiles and proceeds to walk around the car to pop his trunk. he then starts to make very nice conversation about how he was waiting at the wrong address. it was his bad for not getting the address right. his bad for having my sorry behind stand out in the cold cold cold did i mention COLD night. (mental note: this is the last time i try to be the eager beaver and go wait to meet the cab right when they call.) man was it his bad. but there was something so endearing about him. but i wasn't completely sure if this was "i'm a stranger forced into this awkward situation because i am giving you a ride home at some unholy hour of the night" chit chat or an honest to goodness sincere conversation. the more we talked the more i learned about him. where he's from, what he does outside of his job as a cab driver. i don't know what else to say except it was sweet. it was his first night shift and we talked about how it was going. i hope he doesn't get any crazies who make his first ever night shift horrible. he just had a really nice story to share. and it made me feel like a douche for focusing so much on trivial matters all day. well. a lesson learned. and it only cost me $11 including tip. when i take a step back, things aren't really as bad as they seem. :) maybe today wasn't that craptabulous...
