| look at that--i went a whole semester without updating.
back at home, taking a much-needed rest.
i'm not going to japan next semester, but i'm ok with it.
more later, perhaps.

| at the beginning of the summer, i had to deal with shampoo being all over my stuff.
now i have to deal with mold.
anyway, i'm back at school. my room is small, but it's not cramped.

| i've been at home since last saturday, and have accomplished one thing worth noting:
i got that damn cricket outside my window to shut up.
i'm not sure if i killed it, or just drove it out of the bush it was hiding in, but i do know that the non-stop chirping (and i mean non-stop; it goes on literally all night) is gone.
i'll be here for another week before getting back to school. for the time being, i'm reading harry potter and thinking about software.

| just a slight update:
i now have XGL installed. this effectively makes my computer nine billion (that's 9,000,000,000) times cooler than yours.
look it up on wikipedia. find demo videos. you will drool.

| about 3.5 weeks left before i go home, and the difficult stuff isn't even out of the way yet. the new strain i'm using has males in it (not just hermaphrodites like usual), so it could possibly recombine into four different genotypes, only one of which i'd be able to use if such a thing happened--and that's only if i'm able to recognize it. i'm just hoping things stay simple.
also, all the soccer/tennis kids and high school teachers on campus are really starting to bother me. i mean, i know they have just as good a reason to be here as i do, but i feel like they don't. it's like a tourist invasion.
