| So we have Netflix now, and Alan and I are watching movies almost at a weekly basis now. The other day, we watched "Office Space," since Alan's never seen the movie until then (I know, blasphamy!). And now that I've started working at an office, I had a more deep appreciation of the movie, more things to relate to. Like in the begining of the movie, the guy is pestered with the "TPS report cover sheets," and I thought that was just stupid since NOBODY would be that stupid and picky about a stupid cover sheet. WRONG I WAS, since the very next day, I was at a meeting for 3 hours debating how to format the cover sheets for Engineering Correction Forms with signatures! Man, I was just reliving that entire movie all over again in reality!
Go the corporate world!
Anyway, now that we have Netflix, I can probably get to see Star Wars (the original 80's ones) for real this time. (Yeah, I've never seen the "good" Star Wars before)
As for other random thoughts that passed through my mind the other day:
1. Who knew that wedding planning was such a pain in the butt! I thought it was bad enough trying to figure out where, when, who, and how to have a wedding, but people (especially our wedding consultant) asked about all the small DETAILS that I honestly didn't think and care about. For instance, flowers. I just thought "orchids" would be a nice touch, but then our flourist was like, "what color, what kind, where do you want them, how much do you want them, how would you like them, would combining other ones be good, when do you want them, etc etc" stuff like that! I thought picking out flowers was bad, but then the flourist bombarded me with the question of COLOR. If you know me well, I'm kind of a monotone color person (black, white), and so when they asked me what type of color scheme I wanted, all I could think of was like "color? I need color? do you think pink, purple, green, and brown would look good together?" Oh man.
2.

March of the Penguins!! I wanna see that movie sooo badly! I just think that it's going to be a very very cutsey movie with penguins waddling around the ice. Then again, I'm also bracing myself with the worst, since it's like a documentary movie, I'm predicting that real-life penguin situations are going to arise too, like sea lions mawling the baby penguins. I can totally imagine Morgan Freeman narrating: "And so as the baby penguin struggles in vain inside the killer whale's mouth, the mother penguin watches helplessly at the sight...." *sniff* Stuff like that.... But I'm still gonna go see it!
3. You know that you're getting old when people start calling you "ma'am"
4. Lastly, just my random thought: who started this whole thing about drinking their HOT Starbucks drinks with straws? I swear I see like everyone and their mothers doing this, and it looks like it's a trendy thing or something. It just bothers me that people just can't drink their HOT coffees out of those small holes they already give you. Noo, instead, you need a green straw sticking out of those holes so you could burn your tongue drinking out of something that wasn't intended to drink out of from a hot beverage in the first place!!!
There. I said it. | | |
| Alrighty, another one of those long-time-no-entry blog things. As I realized quite early on, I'm just darn lazy. So, just a quick update on how my life has been going (doubtful that nobody cares anymore about my life because I just don't darn update).
So in June, I safely graduated from college. The graduation ceremony expanded to two days of celebrating, and my parents came to both the HUGE one and to my departmental(s) one. For the huge commencement ceremony, our "guest" speaker was...the one and only.. Monster!! It was interesting to say the least. I was shocked to know that Cookie Monster no longer just eats cookies...but vegetables too. So sad...
Anyway, after graduating, I took a quick trip to Japan with my parents to visit relatives and such. Japan was HOT, I tell you. And it was only June when I went there....
So all between that, I had been in search for a job in San Diego because I was planning to move in with Alan before the summer ended. I had landed a job at DNP Electronics (DNP standing for Dai Nippon Printing) as an Administrative Assistant and Productions Assistant. I started this Monday, and it's just a bunch of excel sheets with data processing. But interesting the job is, very exciting since it's not just number crunching everyday. Plus the fact that my company's annual picnic is going to be at Sea World!! Drinking beer at a theme park!! Yay!! Hehe, since Alan is still in school, and I'm working, I'm technically the one earning the bread for the household. Ahh, so this is what wearing the pants for the household feels like...
And now, I have officially moved in with Alan in San Diego as well. We have lots of games and computers with just the two of us put together, and the place is now a haven for playing games when I come back from work everyday. Right now, I'm very very addicted to playing the KATAMARI DAMACY 2 game!! Technically called We Love Katamari.
Oh man.... Such a great game...
And my favorite stage so far...the ocean stage

Another game I am so addicted to is ChibiRobo. Basically you're this tiny robot that helps your human people get happy by cleaning up the place and finding things for them. It's pretty addicting, for some reason, and chibirobo is so cute.

Plus Nintendogs is keeping up my time. This is my puppy

Awww.
Anyway, so that's my life so far. Wedding plans are going on their way, with flower and color planning and such. If you ever have the chance to come to San Diego (say like, Legoland, or Sea World and such...ha!) feel free to come visit. Until then, I'll update once again in about 3 months later or so again! (well, i'll try better, I promise) | | |
| Okay, I'm procrastinating right now; I should be writing one of my 3 papers that are due in 2-3 weeks, but apparently, surfing the net and eating Haribo gummie bears is more important in my schedule right now.
So I'm excited that I technically only have 3 days of school this week. (Mon-Wed, Thurs and Fri classes cancelled). THEN OFF TO 5 DAY WEEKEND!!!
On another note, about my weekend: I got my new car last week, and it's sooo kewl. Ahhhh, it's so prettee... It's humungous, but it seats 8 people (uncomfortably) and has 9 cup holders! (I swear 9 cup holders is not enough when I'm going to drive all alone...) It also has a 6-disc CD changer, AND a single CD player right above it. Okay, so I wouldn't say that the Pilot is the most practical car out there concerning accessories, but hey, it's kinda cool.
So this weekend, I drove to San Diego for one day to visit Alan. But really randomly, when Alan and I went to lunch at UTC, I met my old high school pal Jimmy Nguyen there out of the blue. Man, I haven't seen that guy since high school graduation (which means 4 years ago), and it was so random!

Ahh, so preeteee....

| I went to the Star Wars Episode III premiere in Westwood last Thursday. It was some kind of charity thing run by Samuel Jackson, so I didn't think there would be any crazy Star War fans dressed up or waiting outside. However, I was wrong. Even though the show didn't start until 7pm-ish, there were a few people waiting outside around 1pm. WOW. Excitied to see some more Star Wars fans, I dragged my roomies to Westwood around 6, and we saw the crowd that gathered around. Much to my dissapointment, there wern't as much crazy fans dressed up in the garb as I had expected. Yet, there was a lot of people there, so my roomies and I decided to just walk around Westwood until the real "action" happened. It turned out that by the time we came back from window shopping at local stores, we missed most of the stars going in.
I might have been dissapointed by that, but there were "professional" characters that dressed as actors. Chewbacca even walked over to our crowd to say hi!
Anyhoo, here are some pictures I took at the premiere. Check them out.
