Simple Reminder The World is my Stage, but I don want to be acting on it. Look at Prince Charming in the Shrek series. He knew what his destiny was but he thinks it would be spoon-fed to him. He wanted to enter the lamorous?parts of the story without doing anything. In the end, this mindset only led him to live out everything that he was meant to be and do, in the form of a musical! He never fought the fights, never slays the dragon and never saved the girl! The next step of my life might not look prestigious but a good foundation of real battles is not negotiable. I want to be the real deal. There was a moment in Rome where I was strongly reminded, how undeserved I am to be at where I am. What was a girl like me doing in a glamorous hotel at a beautiful city? What have I done to deserve all those privileges? The answer is: nothing. Don get me wrong, nobody was making me feel out of place. It was a simple conviction from the Holy Spirit that nothing I did earned what I have. Ecclesisastes 9:11 I returned and saw under the sun that the race is not to the swift nor the battle to the strong, neither is bread to the wise nor riches to men of intelligence and understanding nor favour to men of skill; but time and chance happen to them all.
Whatever strengths that I think would qualify success actually don guarantee success. There is no formula. But what a promise in the Word of God! Time and chance happens to them all. My education, experience or who I know, do not secure anything. The ultimate winning equation is to know that He loves me and I am made righteous because of what Jesus did. I not saying that I don need to equip myself or enhance my skills, but knowing that there is nothing/ no one dependable apart from Him, I don need to strive and make things happen. He accepts and values me for who I am. He determines the time and chance. So I simply receive all that He already has for me, by being me. What a freedom! 2 Corinthians 9:8 And God is able to make all grace (every favour and earthly blessing) come to you in abundance, so that you may always and under all circumstances and whatever the need be self-sufficient [possessing enough to require no aid or support and furnished in abundance for every good work and charitable donation]. |
