The Reminder

Simple Reminder

The World is my Stage, but I don want to be acting on it.

Look at Prince Charming in the Shrek series.  He knew what his destiny was but he thinks it would be spoon-fed to him.  He wanted to enter the lamorous?parts of the story without doing anything.  In the end, this mindset only led him to live out everything that he was meant to be and do, in the form of a musical!  He never fought the fights, never slays the dragon and never saved the girl!

The next step of my life might not look prestigious but a good foundation of real battles is not negotiable. I want to be the real deal.

There was a moment in Rome where I was strongly reminded, how undeserved I am to be at where I am. What was a girl like me doing in a glamorous hotel at a beautiful city?  What have I done to deserve all those privileges?  The answer is: nothing.

Don get me wrong, nobody was making me feel out of place.  It was a simple conviction from the Holy Spirit that nothing I did earned what I have.

Ecclesisastes 9:11

I returned and saw under the sun that the race is not to the swift nor the battle to the strong, neither is bread to the wise nor riches to men of intelligence and understanding nor favour to men of skill; but time and chance happen to them all.

Whatever strengths that I think would qualify success actually don guarantee success.  There is no formula.

But what a promise in the Word of God!  Time and chance happens to them all.

My education, experience or who I know, do not secure anything.

The ultimate winning equation is to know that He loves me and I am made righteous because of what Jesus did.

I not saying that I don need to equip myself or enhance my skills, but knowing that there is nothing/ no one dependable apart from Him, I don need to strive and make things happen.

He accepts and values me for who I am.  He determines the time and chance.  So I simply receive all that He already has for me, by being me.  What a freedom!

2 Corinthians 9:8

And God is able to make all grace (every favour and earthly blessing) come to you in abundance, so that you may always and under all circumstances and whatever the need be self-sufficient [possessing enough to require no aid or support and furnished in abundance for every good work and charitable donation].

Saving the World

Didn't I tell you everything's fine?
If there's a good and bad we're somewhere in between
Often I feel like we're all navigating blind
Could we get a change of pace to set the scene

We could stay another day in this confusion
Let it permeate us 'till we can't on

But while we're waiting we could try saving the world
Or are we storing that up for a raining day?
I'm anticipating the time when it'll be my turn
It could be fun to try
I think that I'll save the world as a fun afternoon activity

Seventy thousand things to ponder today
Most significant are bottom of the list
Forty five million recipes and ways
To exaggerate and compound the stress

We could stay another day in this apathy
Let it permeate us 'till we're numb through

Just Do It!

Everyone is a participant of e always wanted to?

Ie always wanted to speak Spanish fluently, snowboard relatively well, play more than 8 chords on the guitar, travel on first class, go to Hillsong Conference in Sydney, work in the hotel industrytc.

So what usually stops us from realising these thoughts?

Timing, lack of resources, laziness?fear?

As I continue to grow in the knowledge of God immensity and His love for me, I believe Ie become less fearful and more courageous.  Less fearful of others?opinions, less susceptible to offences, less fearful of not knowing everything, more courageous in going out of my comfort zone, more courageous in standing by what I believe and more courageous in trying new things.

Being a Millennial (those under 24ish) and a TCK (Third Culture Kid ?grown up in a culture that differs to that of parents?, I crave variety of experiences.  Whatever that is different to the norm; out-of-the-box ideas stir me.

What I trying to say is?it absolutely ok to just be you.  It absolutely ok to go ahead and fulfil these e always wanted to? statements that youe made.  God knows about the secret desires of our hearts.  He cares about us so much that He knows the number of hair that is on our head.  He has all of us in the palm of His hands.

So?who cares about what your peers think?

  •  Having a Bollywood birthday party and a dance routine was unforgettable.
  • Looking for a doctor in Italy only speaking 3 words of Italian, iao! Grazi! Gelato!?was mad.
  • Raising ?50 from the ovie for Watoto?night watching Shrek 3 was real fun.
  • Dressing up to cycle a few km for UNICEF was unusual (and raised around ?50!).
  • Tracking to Ruislip Woods?hidden beach was adventurous.
  • Going to the first ever hen night was simply crazy.

The next interesting experience:  Speed-dating on Friday August 3rd, ?2, proceeds to Watoto.

When We Give

Proverbs 19:17 MSG

Mercy to the needy is a loan to God.

And God pays back those loans in full.

So what happens when we give from what is in our hands?

  • Orphans will have a shelter, be well fed and cared for
  • The sick will receive healthcare and be healed
  • Children will be educated
  • Less privileged families learn how to provide for themselves
  • Widows will have a shelter and have the joy of caring for children
  • Brokenness made whole
  • The generations after me will have a place to gather as the House of God
  • The Local Church will be equipped to be the Local Church
  • The Gospel will be communicated to the uttermost parts of the world
  • The spiritual condition of Europe will be revived
  • Lives will be changed for eternity

We can never out-give God.

The bigger the capacity, the bigger the difference you can make.

Ask Him to enlarge, everyday.

Make a difference for the kids in Northern Uganda, Africa!

Cause: Watoto Gulu

More than 30,000 children have been stolen from their homes to join the LRA, an army that rebels against the government

They are brainwashed and forced to serve in this army. These children, some as young as 8 years, are forced to join this horrific acts to their own families and communities.

In addition to being beaten and raped, these children also have to participate in the killing of the children who try to escape from the LRA.

Often little girls are sold as sex slaves to war lords, sold or traded or even given as gifts for arms. Alarmingly, children make up over 80% of the LRA.

The Answer: The Local Church and Watoto Gulu Children's Village

It will require a purchase of 150 acres of land to begin the establishment of a complete Children's Village, with homes, schools and a clinic. This will be a place of beauty, peace, and restoration.
