No more xanga entries

Dear Xanga,

I am hereby submitting my letter of resignation to xanga.
I have enjoyed my time here and I have learned a lot.
However, I have found a new place for me and my incoherent thoughts.
My new mental note place of residence:
http://www.thoughtsforbarter.com
offers me the opportunity to continue my growth that was started at Xanga.
Thank you for giving me a place for my mental incoherence and personal learning.

Sincerely,
Hmlss n Hngry

Heroes are Underrepresented

Underrepresented may not be the right word.
It's more like... under... reported.

After the Virginia Tech April 16th Shooting all reports were on the shooter and everyone was trying to analyze why he did it.  Reports, stories, and even video clips were all over the place!  But there was very little talk of a true hero of that even.  Liviu Librescu, a survivor of the Holocaust, sacrificed his life so that his students could escape.  He barricaded the door to his classroom with his own body.  Through all this I only found out about his heroics last week by listening to a podcast on technology.  A podcast on TECHNOLOGY!  That's how I found out.  Not by means of the tons of other coverage on the incident.  Now of course the media eventually covered it.  However, it seems that people like Liviu Librescu and their actions are second thoughts behind that of the horrendous actions of people such as the shooter in this tragedy.

Search Liviu Librescu's name and learn about him and pay him homage.
Or check one of the links I've added.
But do not forget Liviu when so much attention has been given to the shooter.

And lets not forget the other victims as they have all been taken out of the lives of their friends and familes:

Ah what a good weekend.
headed to vegas w/o any problems
first time i've had more than 5 hrs of sleep in probably the last few weeks.
got to see my mom, my sis, the dogs
had good home cooked food
got some work done
the ride back from vegas wasn't that great due to some traffic and other non-fun driving conditions
but i was able to make it back to la in time to watch some basketball
