holy mother.

so, lisette, my manager at Banana Republic, is also in a similar spot.  her husband left last spring for kuwait - he's an officer in the national guard.  anyhow, we basically bond every shift togetherabout military woes.  Herman, her hubby, is due back december 14th.  when she found out the date we were jumping up and down in the store...

anyways, today, we were at the cashwrap when from the corner of our eyes we see a tall black man in cam. uniform walk in.  turning our heads lisette starts to lose her legs and tears well up in my eyes as i catch her from falling over.  we both thought it was Herman.  When we saw him head on, it turned out to be an air force guy stopping to shop for his wife.  Lisette and I both looked at each other,  barely breathing, both of us tearing from the same hope.  She wanted it so badly to be him and I wanted it so badly for her.  At the same time, when we realized it wasn't him, we both became equally terrified.  When he asked for help looking for a dress, we realized that not only was it Herman, but he wasn't coming to tell lisette anything that had happened to Herman either.  Relief set in and Lisette and I had to take a few minutes to calm down.

I just can't describe the pit of  my stomach, heart sinking, jaw dropping complete shock that we both felt in that moment.  it was an interesting preview. so much emotion, so many thoughts. almost there, lisette.  un poco mas.
