A very young Joseph

I recently found this photo.

I love those sweet little baby fingers.  The nearly-bald noggin with just a little swirl of hair.

Hard to believe that this sweet little guy is now almost six, plays soccer, loves math and has a full head of hair.  He's still sweet.

And on its third boy, that t-shirt is still going strong.  Luke just wore it yesterday.

A magazine article I recently read suggested putting a small bag with pretty note cards, a nice pen and a book of stamps in your car.  Then, the article suggested, you could jot a quick, thoughtful note to someone while waiting to pick your kids up at school, sitting on the sidelines at soccer practice, etc.  Nice idea.

But what about those of us who are frequently screeching into the school parking lot praying frantically that the school doors are still open and that a disgruntled teacher is not taking our child to the office to call our house, husband's office, emergency contacts, or anyone who will take our child?  Or those of us who aren't very good at being soccer moms and have been known to drop off one kid at soccer practice and take the other two to Dunkin' Donuts (picking up a donut for the soccer star, of course!)?

Overheard

A conversation between James and Joseph ...

James:  When I am a grown up I will have a contract so I can be a superhero.  I will sign the contract, then go into a telephone booth to change into a superhero.

Joseph:  Wouldn't you like to change in a bathroom for privacy?

James:  Um .... no.  I have a contract and I need a telephone booth.

Luke:   Dada!  Dada!  Dada!  Meow.

Babywearing

I've been wearing Luke in a Mei Tei carrier for a few months.  It seems to have made an impression on Joseph.

Sometimes you just need to wear a costume.  And then your brother wants to wear one, too.  And then your littlest brother wants to.  And that's how we entertained ourselves this morning.
