The Lamborghini Reventón is a mid engine sports car built by Lamborghini.
It has been entirely designed in Sant'Agata Bolognese,
the original birthplace of the Lamborghini and debuted at the 2007 Frankfurt
Auto Show. The language of its shape clearly appears to
be inspired by “fast airplanes” which is characterized by sharp edges, precise
lines and clean surfaces. It was named after a famous fighting bull, owned by
the Don Rodriguez family.
As of
today, Reventon is the most powerful and most expensive Lamborghini ever been
made which cost approximately one million euros. It plans to release only 20
units though several reports indicate that the total number may actually
be 100.
These past few days, Automobile
Lamborghini has held a press conference entitled “Lamborghini and speed – a project in record time” as part of the
“Turin 2008 – World Design Capital” programme of events. In this
conference, Lamborghini Chairman and CEO, Stephan Winkelmann explained the
creative and development process behind the construction of the Reventón.
Before the end of the conference,
the city of Turin, Italy
looked to the sky to see a Lamborghini Reventon that was carried by a military
helicopter over the automotive capital of Italy. It landed on the rooftop of
the Lingotto building to formally close the said conference hosted by Lamborghini.
The conference explored the
extraordinary timescales and design and production abilities demonstrated by
Lamborghini in producing its ˆ 1 million euro supercar, of which all 20 units
have been sold worldwide. This event was made possible in co-operation of the Marina
Militare Italiana (the Italian marines).

| The Hyundai Entourage made its
debut at the Chicago Auto Show in February 2006. The Entourage went on sale in
April 2006. The 2008 Entourage is a 4-door, 7-passenger mini van, available in
two trims, the GLS and the Limited. The 2008 Entourage is a carryover from
2007.
“Both trims are equipped with a standard 3.8-liter, V6, 250-horsepower
engine that achieves 16-mpg in the city and 23-mpg on the highway. A 5-speed
automatic transmission with overdrive is standard.” It has a shiftronic
manual control, making it one of the only minivans to offer clutch less
shifting. Handling is by far one of the Entourage's most excellent
characteristic.
Though the Entourage is no
head-turner, critics seem satisfied with its nice-looking exterior design. “The base Entourage's exterior features
include 16-inch steel wheels, body-color door handles and side mirrors,
three-beam jeweled projector-lens headlights, and chrome-inserted body side
molding.” All models have power windows in their sliding side doors.
Most reviewers find the
Entourage's spacious interior attractive and refined. The basic controls are
pleasingly simple and easy to operate. The Entourage has active head restraints
that are designed to reduce neck injuries. It also features an Infinity
AM/FM/CD-changer/MP3 audio system with Logic 7 surround sound.
The
Entourage, earned top safety marks when first introduced last year. Available
safety features include ABS, traction control, antiskid system, front side
airbags, and curtain side airbags.
The Hyundai Entourage is a lovely
highway cruiser, quiet and stable. Reviewers generally agree the all-new 2008
Hyundai Entourage is a smooth-riding, safe and well-equipped minivan.

The 2008 Tiburon is a 2-door,
4-passenger family coupe, or sports coupe, available in 4 trims, ranging from
the GS to the SE. The 2008 Hyundai Tiburon ranks 8 out of 10 Affordable Sports
Cars. 2008 Hyundai Tiburon follows up its 2007 redesign by building on its
unique combination of styling, performance and value. In other words the 2008
Tiburon is a carryover from 2007.
“It is equipped with a standard 2.0-liter, I4, 138-horsepower engine
that achieves 20-mpg in the city and 28-mpg on the highway. A 5-speed manual
transmission with overdrive is standard, and a 4-speed automatic transmission
with overdrive is optional. The SE is equipped with a standard 2.7-liter, V6,
172-horsepower engine that achieves 16-mpg in the city and 24-mpg on the
highway. A 6-speed manual transmission with overdrive is standard.”
The Tiburon's exterior styling is
its greatest asset. But compared to other vehicles in its class, the Tiburon's
exterior receives a mid-range exterior score. Hyundai’s designers added a long
hood with muscular character lines, projector headlights and an aggressive
front bumper.
The Tiburon's interior is very
accommodating and comfortable. It boasts a cockpit designed to be an integral
part of the driving experience.
The Tiburon performs well in government
crash tests. Inside, you’ll find driver and front passenger advanced frontal
airbags, along with front seat-mounted side airbags.
Test drivers award the Tiburon
good marks for its sporty and responsive nature. The Tiburon had a great
Ferrari-cloned look with this model. But
I guess they should spend more money on upgrading the interior plastics
improving the engine.

The Lotus Exige is a two-door, two-seat sports car made by Lotus Cars.
It is a coupe version of the Lotus Elise, which is a roadster. It has made its
debut at the 2007 Los Angeles Auto Show in January 2006. In February 2006,
Lotus announced a limited production run of 50 Exiges, using the Toyota engine with a super
charger. It is only available in yellow and black.
“The Lotus Exige 270E Tri-fuel is the most powerful road version yet of
the Exige (0-60 mph / 96 kph in 3.88 seconds, a top speed of 158 mph (255
km/h), 270 hp (201 kW / 273 PS at 8000 rpm) and it runs on any mixture of
gasoline, bioethanol and methanol.” The maximum torque for this vehicle
measures 165 lb-ft at a lower 5,500 rpm, with 80 percent of the twist available
at just over 2,000 rpm.
It features improved headlamp cluster
for better lighting. A single oval exhaust pipe in place of twin pipes,
body-color treatment to the rear wing, front splitter, and side air-intakes, a
new front clamshell to accommodate the headlamps. Compared to the Elise, it had
wider wheel arches, a front splitter, a large rear spoiler and a fiberglass
roof.
This is pretty cool! It looks
like a car made from a racing video game. I'm not amazed that it can run on
three chemically similar hydro carbons (gasoline, bioethanol and methanol). I
am excited that it is been engineered to have great power. Well done Lotus!

| The Saab 9-4X is a mid-size luxury crossover SUV. It has made its
debut at the 2008 North American International Auto Show. The 9-4x is tagged as
a concept, but the truth is that we are probably going to see the new SUV
sometime in 2009. There’s no exact launch date has been given, but the
automakers expect sales to begin in the 2009.
“It is powered by a 2.0 liter 4 cylinder turbocharged engine producing
245 hp and 353 Nm torque. If the engine is fueled with E85 Ethanol power
increases to 300 hp and 400 Nm torques”. In the 9-4X Bio Power concept, it
features 300bhp and 295lb ft; and we can expect that the production car's
engine to have similar outputs. The automakers intend to make the 9-4X as environment
friendly as possible. That’s why they came up with the idea that the ethanol
burning Bio power engines will be available within the local dealers.
A raised vehicle height and a
toughened suspension is a feature of this car. That will mean light off roading
will be a possibility. I think the interior is very well done. The overall
shape of the interior reminds me a lot of the xc60 concept. I especially like
the front grille's airplane look.
It's very good, but compared to
some other famous SUV’s, it's much more like a case study. I hope this specific
product improves sales for Saab. But I first wish that its design was more
aggressive and modern.
