| I'm a little behind on my blogging, but I wanted to take a minute to say congratulations to Tatum and Chris. I photographed their wedding earlier this month and walked away from it very satisfied with the resulting images. Though most of what I do is documentary photography, I couldn't resist the opportunity to get this shot of them with her dad's old Ford pickup truck. It has kind of a classic 1920's-30's feel to it. Come visit me at the Nashville bridal show Sunday and you can see a framed print of it.

| Among the weddings I have lined up for the rest of the year is an old friend of mine, Rob Baas and his fiancee, Leslie. They are my 7-7-07 couple this year. That has been a very popular date for almost every photographer i've spoken to. Some photographers booked that date over a year in advance.
I've known Rob for well over a decade now and he has accompanied me on several of my photo adventures in the past, so i'm excited to be a part of his and Leslie's wedding day. Here are just a few of the shots we captured this weekend during their engagement shoot.

Here are a few of the trips that we've been on together. Rob lived in Los Angeles for several years and I flew out one week to visit and we took a trip to Yosemite for a few days. The first one is a shot of Halfdome framed by silhouetted trees. Then Halfdome at sunrise and a shot of Yosemite Falls.

When Rob had to go back to work in L.A., I rented a car and drove the wheels off of it, trying to conquer the entire state of California in three days (it didn't happen, but I put a lot of miles behind me). I ran up and down the Eastern Sierra mountain range, through Death Valley, the Mojave Desert and Joshua Tree before coming full circle back to L.A.
Here is a shot of Joshua Tree National Park at sunset. Also, Joshua Tree has some really interesting rock structures that attract rock climbers from all over the world. The second shot is "Moon in the Rock". I guess it really is "ART" because people tell me how it looks like a dog and the moon in the hole is his eye. Well, there you have it...
The next couple of photos are a little more exotic, I put together a crazy trip to Costa Rica. I had just never been there and it sounded like a place I needed to see. Somehow, we ended up with about eight people on this trip. My long time friend John who is an airline pilot, showed up in full flight uniform to jump seat his way to Costa Rica. The Spanish speaking locals referred to him as "El Capitan" (we thought it was funny :) Rob and another friend we call "Neon Bob" who you might guess owns his own Neon Sign Company, were not able to fly down on the same flight as ours and ended up flying to San Jose then taking a puddle jumper over to the West coast where we were staying. That turned out to be an interesting story in itself. The photo here is one of Tabacan Hot Springs at the base of Mount Arenal in the central jungle of Costa Rica. You can actually sit in these natural hot springs drinking a Margarita and look up at lava spewing out of the volcano. I guess alcohol relaxes your natural urge to run. The week after we flew home, they had a fairly substantial eruption, "Bartender... Make it a double"!!!

Here's an interesting shot someone took of me flying through the jungle. We took a bus trip to the top of a mountain in the jungle and then repelled back down the mountain. They had landing pads set up several hundred feet apart and you literally went flying on a cable from one landing pad to the next until you reached the bottom of the mountain. Lots of fun to be had there. Go ahead and call your travel agent today.
