The ten martyrs include Ishmael, Simeon, Akiva, Hanina ben Teradion, Judah ben Bava, Judah ben Dama, Hutzpit, Hanina ben Hakinai, Yeshevav, and Eleazar ben Shammua. After pleading to be killed before Ishmael (as to avoid seeing him die), Simeon had a lot cast on him, and his head was cut off by an executioner. Ishmael had his scalp removed and given to Caesar’s daughter who wanted to use it as a mirror. Akiva was tortured as his skin was combed with combs of iron. Hanina ben Teradion was burned after he was found reading the Torah (His wife was slain and his daughter was placed in a brothel). Judah ben Bava was speared multiple times for ordaining five elders. Judah ben Dama’s body was dragged through Rome’s streets by a horse, and dismembered afterwards. Hutzpit was stoned and then hanged. Hanina ben Hakinai was slain on the eve of the Sabbath after proving his loyalty by declining the offer of food before death. After declaring his age of 90 years, Yeshevav was burned. Lastly, Eleazar ben Shammua was burned on Yom Kippur after prophesizing the glory of heaven to his disciples.

i recommend the vegetarian lasagna from lyons... very excellent.
life right now is ehhh... whateva. chillin. trying to feel good, have fun. There was a busted pipe on campus earlier and water was shooting everywhere. made me laugh.

| "Sand and Stone" -Unknown
A story tells that two friends were walking
through the desert. During some point of the
journey they had an argument, and one friend slapped
the other in the face. The one who got slapped
was hurt, but without saying anything, wrote in the
sand: "TODAY MY BEST FRIEND SLAPPED ME IN THE
FACE."
They kept on walking until they found an oasis,
where they decided to bathe. The one who had
been slapped got stuck in the mire and started
drowning, but his friend saved him. After he
recovered from the near drowning, he wrote on a
stone: "TODAY MY BEST FRIEND SAVED MY LIFE."
The friend who had slapped and saved his best
friend asked him, "After I hurt you, you wrote in
the sand and now, you write on a stone, why?"
The other friend replied: "When someone hurts us we
should write it down in sand where winds of
forgiveness can erase it away. But, when someone
does something good for us, we must engrave it in
stone where no wind can ever erase it."
