| It's not that I'm anti-xanga, but I've been sucked into the vortex that is facebook. Facebook has a wordpress application which announces to my "friends" when I've updated, and I enjoy that. Future blogs can be found...here. |

| Today someone made the comment that he/she didn't want me to move to New York. It stirred my heart, but it won't keep me from going if it's time to go. Let's be praying it's time to go, k? |

| 1. I joined Facebook yesterday. I held out so long that now I kinda feel like I sacrificed part of my soul. I'm not sure I'm a fan. We'll see. Which brings us to 2...
2. I've finished the first read through and I'm working on round two. I know we're not supposed to talk about Harry Potter, so I'm not, but I've got to ask: Hallows or Horcruxes? |

| ...you're interested in this sort of thing you might like to know that the good people at the New York Times somehow got their hands on a copy of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and have already issued their review. (I'm pretty sure the phone conversation went something like "Hi, I'm a book reviewer for the TIMES and I'll start buying all the books I review at your store if you could get me the Potter book a few days early." "Um, okay. Screw the embargo; we'll be rich and famous.") The review can be found here. Surprise, he liked it. What's the guy gonna say? It was a disappointment? Millions of Potter fans with Hallows mania and nothing to do for 31 1/2 more hours would storm the Times office and lynch the guy. WARNING!!! It does contain a few mild spoilers (like what the hallows are and the identity of the muggle who does magic). For the most part though, it tells us what we already know: tenets of Tolkein and Baum and Dickens, epic battles, breadcrumb trails from previous books, more to Snape and Dumbledore than meets the eye, blah, blah, blah...
My copy is scheduled to arrive from Canada on Saturday, but I may end up buying a copy Friday night; I'm not sure I can wait. |
