| Today is the last day of our water project! If you feel it in your hearts to donate, we would be so grateful. $1, $5, anything helps. Thank you to everyone who has already contributed. Much love to everyone! | | |
| This holiday season we're giving up toys, purses, video games, clothes, jewelry and tools. Instead our goal is to help build a well for a community that needs fresh water. So much so, that their lives depend on it. My family is very excited about this project, and I hope you will be, too!

| I hardly ever write here anymore, not sure why...and for some reason I ventured over to blogger and signed up an account over there. Diet Coke on the Rocks Life has been good. Our new house is great, we had a super fun summer in our pool and hosting BBQ parties. Loudoun is in kinder and Avalon is in preschool. Both are thriving and driving us insane on a daily basis. Rick is doing well and family life is good, work life is good, blah blah blah. Anyway, if you ever want to wander over to my other site, you are more than welcome! Or I'm always on facebook or twitter (rbearclaw) as well. I still spy on you guys here on xanga every once in awhile...and comment occasionally. | | |
| The last 40 days have been the biggest roller coaster I never thought I would ever go through. Nothing really out of the ordinary from what other homebuyers go through, but stressful and exciting and CRAZY nonetheless. Papers and signatures and inspections and deadlines, and missed deadlines and down payments and government beauracracy, and you get the idea. But come Tuesday, 2 FREAKIN' DAYS FROM NOW!, we will be breaking our backs and dripping with sweat as we move into our first home. Yes folks, our closing costs were wired Friday afternoon and the papers were signed Friday evening, and this is the real deal. I truly believe everything happens for a reason. And everyone in the home buying business says that if you don't get one house, you were meant to get another one. But when you lose one house, or get out-bid on another, it's hard NOT to get emotional about losing it and really say to yourself, "we'll find the one. Be patient." But now that we got this one, I can look back and understand why we weren't supposed to get the others. This is the one. It's the city we wanted, the layout flows so well, the kids' rooms are adorable, the pool is in a better location, the backyard has more grass and room to run, the front yard is huge, its a corner lot! and everything is new and upgraded correctly. The list could go on and on, but bottom line...we are STOKED about this house. I'll upload pics once we move in, but here's one of the front: Off to pack the last minute items....they never seem to end! | | |
| We placed an offer on house #3...it was accepted, and we are in 30 day escrow as of tomorrow. Third time's the charm! We are of course skeptical since we know nothing is guaranteed until the key is in our hands, but we have been assured that what happened to us before is not typical, and most people move along through this process without major issues. We found a 3 bedroom, 3 bath, pool house in our absolute favorite city (well, if you have to pick a fav in the Valley) with a ton of square footage and lots of grass on a corner lot. We are so excited! | | |
