I hate to have to do this...

Well I just made a huge update on my LJ friends list, and made my Multiply "Contacts Only". And since I'm too lazy to do the same thing here (and it's really hard to keep up with so many journals at once), I guess I'm gonna have to say goodbye to Xanga for now. I never saw that coming. :( Anyway, if you guys have LJ, add me up! And here's my Multiply as well.

Oh, and MERRY CHRISTMAS! :o)

CIAO. xoxo.

yet another oblation run missed.

At this very moment, people are most likely flocking over to AS to witness the Oblation Run while I am stuck at home sipping beef noodle soup and taking 3216512 medications just to stop this cold+cough+slight fever from getting worse. It is so unfair. This is my last Christmas as a UP student and I won't be able to enjoy it with the rest of my friends and orgmates. It's sad to note that I have never witnessed the Oblation run in all my years in UP. Something always comes up (like an Avecilla class, org duties, DZUP, etc.) that prevents me to ever see it. Not that I'm desperate to see naked guys running around the campus. Haha. Pero sayang pa rin. And the lantern parade! It would have been my first time as spectator, as in the past years I had always been part of the parade itself (again, application and org duties. lol). So again, I'm stuck at home, my computer won't let me watch videos (because it's so awesome like that. - sarcasm - ) and I'm pissed because my dog is sleeping on my makeshift bed.

On a happier note, I finally got a copy of the (furry) orange Avenue Q book, thanks to my wonderful brother. At least I have something to read and enjoy to pass my time. *g*

Who wants a Christmas Card? :o)

I'm in a "Christmas-card-giving-mode" as I'm sending out a few to friends overseas. I know how exciting it is to receive a card in the mail because that rarely happens anymore soooo, if you want one:

reply here or email me with your address at missindependent19 AT gmail.com until Friday! =D

50 Things I Learned from Broadway Shows

Since I'm still wide awake at 4 in the morning and I'm waiting for a few uploads to finish, I decided to write this. Got the idea from broadwayworld.com, and hey, it's fun. See how many you can recognize. Here goes:

1. It sucks to be me.
2. The only thing to do, really, is jump over the moon.
3. They both reached for the gun.
4. They're called Bui Doi.
5. It's all about popular.
6. Black is this year's pink.
7. The internet is for porn.
8. Everyone's a little bit racist.
9. 525,600 minutes = one year.
10. Hakuna Matata is such a wonderful phrase.
11. When you've got it, flaunt it.
12. Don't be the bunny.
13. The Phantom of the Opera is inside my mind.
14. Schadenfreude = Happiness at the misfortune of others.
15. Happiness is two kinds of ice cream.
16. Everything is RENT.
17. It's a privilege to pee.
18. Dress has always been my strongest suit.
19. There's a grief that can't be spoken, there's a pain goes on and on.
20. You won't succeed on Broadway if you don't have any Jews.
21. Love is my legs.
22. The leading cause of death in Oklahoma, is Melanoma.
23. She's got cooties.
24. You can't stop the beat.
25. There is no future, and there is no past.
26. The sun will come out tomorrow.
27. The hills are alive with the sound of music.
28. Children will listen.
29. A funny thing happened on the way to the forum.
30. You can be as loud as the hell you want when you're making love.
31. He had it coming!
32. If you rearrange the letters in the word unemployed, it spells opportunity.
33. Not all monsters are related.
34. Without love, life's like making out with Perry Como.
35. If you want something, you have to find a better class.
36. There's more to see than can ever be seen, and more to do than can ever be done.
37. In Cyberland, they only drink Diet Coke.
38. There's no day but today.
39. When you're living in America at the end of the millennium, you're what you own.
40. Everything's free in America.
41. There are other fishies in the sea.
42. Celebrated heads of state or especially great communicators did NOT have brains or knowledge, they were popular!
43. Anything you can do, I can do better.
44. A little fall of rain can hardly hurt me now.
45. Love changes everything.
46. Some philosophies take a lifetime, Sally Brown's philosophies take a minute.
47. Life is a cabaret.
48. They're just shoes, you have to let it go.
49. Broadway is a very special place filled with very special people.
50. There's no business like showbusiness. =P

Haha. Wow. Okay, your turn. See if you can come up with some of your own learnings.

Lea Salonga on Philippine Idol

You knew this entry was coming. *g* So Lea was on Pinoy Idol tonight, thus I forced myself to watch TV. I had a good laugh when someone sang Grease Lightning - that's MY piece! Haha - it's a private joke between Chica and me (circa American Idol 3 days), that if I ever joined a singing competition, I'd sing that. Naturally, I sent frantic messages to her on YM:

iheartkellyclarkson (11/19/2006 10:06:57 PM): OMG
iheartkellyclarkson (11/19/2006 10:07:04 PM): watch philippine idol!!!!!
iheartkellyclarkson (11/19/2006 10:07:29 PM): nasaan ka?? are you there?! you're missing it!
nnneng: NO ANSWER.

She must have been away from the computer, so I had no one to share my amusement with. *sigh* Huy Gie, if you're reading this, and you missed the show, SAYANG. But I think I could do a better job. I mean, come on, I was born to sing that song. He just beat me to it! /end of sarcasm. LMAO.

Anyway, best part of the show was when they showed Lea singing and clapping along to Seasons of Love. I may or may not have squealed like a fangirl when I saw that. Haha. So she's singing tomorrow night! I can't wait. :)
