| Well, as promised, this semester is kicking my tail!! My classes are all pretty challenging with only one that isn't so bad. On Thursday, one will be done so that is one good thing. I have enjoyed being a TA though I haven't been able to do as much as I want. My two mentee's (the students I'm mentoring) are great and it has been fun to walk through their first semester with them.
I quit my job... I know crazy. My new boss (after my old boss got laid off) turned in her resignation about a month a go and her last day was Thursday... so after a lot of thought and consideration I decided to leave as well. So I'll now be doing just school... and cleaning my mom's house... and possibly picking up my mary kay again (or more than have)...
What else, what else.... OH YEAH, I am the proud owner of a mac book... I bought it about 3 weeks ago... I know right before they came out with the new ones this week... I don't care, I LOVE IT! It's name is Miggidy Mac like in the Kriss Kross song Jump (I know, random)...
I think that is about it... don't have too much time in my life for anything but school so... Later! | | |
| I do realize that it has been a long time since I've really blogged (weird word).
I think there is too much to backtrack to truly update you...
So, I'll just tell you what's up with me lately.
I moved back home and this has been an interesting experience so far. Some days I am very glad I did it-no money stress, etc. But other days, I can't believe I did it!! My mom and I have lots of things to work out boundary wise but its been good so far.
Classes started last week. I am taking a whole lotta classes - Appraisal, Methods of Research, Family Systems, Human Growth & Development, and Human Sexuality... plus I am the grad assistant for the ethics class... plus I am mentoring two new students!! Needless to say, its gonna be a doozie!! On other school related news, I also changed my major - I am now pursuing a masters in Marriage and Family Therapy. I have been on the fence about switching since mid-Spring semester but a MFT class I took this summer sealed the deal for me. I really have a great passion for healthy functioning families... where this will take me, Lord only knows!!
I am still working at the Y eventhough my boss (/school friend) got laid off last week. I am giving it to the end of Sept to make sure I am staying but its really great hours - only work Thurs and every other Saturday. The only bummer is the drive but I got the free membership to balance that I think.
Speaking of membership, I have decided to step up my "Get Healthy" campaign by starting a real work out regiment. I have a coach at the Y and he has me on all kinds of crazy machines!! "Loving" it so far (just don't ask me 5 mins after I am done!).
I think that is about it for now. Hopefully I will do a better job of keeping this up!

| Ok just wanted to say a quick hi! I have one more week of summer camp and then two weeks of school left...
Then, I'm MOVING BACK HOME! That's right people. I am moving back in with my parents. But it will only be for 10 or so months to save some money...
Ok, gotta get off a hear and get some sleep!

| Hello...
This past week or so has gone by too fast. YMCA Summer camp and school start this week...
Oh, so I am working summer camp at the Y, not sure I've said that before. I am doing the LIT camp (Leaders In Training) for middle/high school age kids. I am pretty excited about it. The last week of camp I will be co-teaching a safe sitter class for middle schoolers. I am really excited about this because I took this class when I was a kid. Today was the first day of camp and it went well, minus being a little hectic. I work 7-12 so it went by fast. I work a lot this week between camp and teen center events.
Last Tuesday I got to go to my THIRD Brave games and they WON!! WOO HOO! Take that Mets Fans!!
What else, oh I went to Michael Bryant's wedding and it was really nice. Got to see old Jared Whitson and that is always a pleasure. Kelly and I were hoping to see more people but they were no shows. It was fun times as I got to have Cheeks time which is always great! Afterwards I stopped by Caitlin's since she lives a mile from where I met Kelly for lunch. It was good times. I got to go shopping in her closet as she had lots of clothes to get rid of... awesome! Then I got to go to dinner with her and lots of her friends - it was fun. Yesterday I had lunch with my friend Jen from middle school and her current boyfriend. These things are getting more awkward because I really don't know how to handle these. But it was still good times. Then last night I had dinner with Julie and a girl from the teen center. We had dinner at Fridays and went to see Made of Honor - pretty decent chick flick but nothing I will go out and buy when it comes out.
Speaking of movies, I got to watch a few movies from my list... I watched Wit - it was pretty depressing as it is the story of a woman who is dealing with dying with cancer. But I enjoyed it because the major message is that we need people not just knowledge and perfection... Prince Caspian was GREAT! I really enjoyed it. It makes me want to reread all the books again but I don't have time for that. Indiana Jones was fabulous. I mean, don't get me wrong, it was totally cheesy. And another reason which I can't say so I don't spoil it but it was good entertainment. Still need to rent Life is Beautiful, and go see Speed Racer.
OK, I really have to go to sleep. I have to be at work again at 7am!!
