Runnin'

I had this whole story about my experiences last night with a Booze Bus, but after writing it all out I wussed out coz I started to think it would be against some sort of professional conduct rule.

So this entry is simply about the entry that never was.

On a brighter (ish) note, I have finally rented out my place! Took a bit hit on the weekly rental amount, but even a lesser amount is better than no amount. And they can move in almost straightaway so that's pretty sweet.

Things are falling into place for the upcoming London trip! Found another person traveling to London, in May this time! Yay!

Seriously, ANIMALS!?

Just came back from watching Avatar (I know, light years behind everyone else) and it was so frustrating!

I mean the movie is not bad; you know, the visuals are fabulous, very pretty graphics, yada yada, but seriously, at the end of it all, they were assisted by the ANIMALS!?

The animals all just joined the war because EYWA SENT THEM!???

What! That's such a cop out! It's like halfway through writing the script, James Cameron said to himself, "shit! there is no way these blue people who have never seen a war for 5 generations (her grandfather's grandfather) who run around with wooden spears can win against people with lean, mean, flying fighting machines. what can i do!? oh, wait, i can send in some very angry rhino-saurs!"

Erm, apart from that, and apart from the fact that I don't actually think that Jake Sully can actually produce children given that he's not really a real Na'vi and therefore there will be no future leaders of their clan since all the other warriors are DEAD, and apart from my general distaste for sacrifice / war (why couldn't they all just live in peace given that Hometree was ALREADY shot to flames and the Na'vi would have had to live somewhere else, so that the Company could have gone in to mine), ok, yeah, it was a decent movie. Entertaining.

By the way I was annoyed at Bodyguards and Assassins too. I have realised I get very annoyed about all these stupid men playing war games with real people's lives. I don't think we really needed to overthrow the Qing dynasty, or go to war with Iraq, or all that bullshit war in the name of freedom rubbish. What is so free about everyone around you dying? How will accidentally killing civilians make the world a better place! Garr!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

So it's New Year's Eve and I'm waiting for Ken to pick me up so that we can head out (for me, in hope that there will be glitter muahaha I like glitter and for Ken, because he is a club whore) and I can't believe how fast the year's gone in between a series of Rockingham visits, generally dull events, becoming of a homebody, many many movies at the cinema, complaining about LV or lack thereof (today a *certain someone* told me they are sick to death of hearing me go on about LV so maybe in 2010 I should just shut up and buy the damm thing), taking holidays (yay!), and bleeding through my eyes paying my mortgage.

Of course I also have a house to show for all this blood, etc, so perhaps it's worth it after all.

Haha, until Tuesday I had no plans and I was horrified at the thought that the culmination of the year (of the DECADE!) would see me, sitting at home, watchin Weeds, while Ken fiddled away with Warfare (well I have just tacked myself onto Ken's plans tonight so I'm still a bit of a loser).

I don't even know what's with these ridiculous insecurities over my social state; NYE 2007 I WORKED through midnight at COLES EXPRESS petrol station. I mean, that's hardly the kind of night that memories are made of!

So I used to do little 'sum up my year' quizzes, but this year I don't know if I can be bothered. All I can say is that apart from all the general dullness and monotony of 2009 (I stayed in the same job, same boyfriend (hahaha), same country, same church, same religion (hahaha how do I become a Jew?), ate at the same restauant every month (Shanghai Ren Jia ftw), yada yada) what I do remember best about 2009 was having enough money (despite aforementioned mortgage burdens) to go on holidays every 3 months. Bring it on Canberra, Sydney, Singapore (multiple times) Melbourne, Vietnam, and Japan! Melikey.

I think 2010 will bring a lot more upheaval and uncertainty so in a sense upon reflection I am thoroughly glad that this year has been quite quiet and yet enjoyable; the calm before the storm, so to speak.

(Yes, I do apologise for all the whinging hahaha)

Well, it's time to go I believe so I shall leave you with a quote from adamloh:

fuzzy logic says (8:15 PM): Help! I am dying of thirst but I can't drink anything because I have lipstick on!

Adam says (8:15 PM): Why don't you get a straw then I can say to you YOU SUCK!

Hehehe. HAPPY NEW YEAR GUYS!

[[edit]] Went to my post last New Year's Eve and it said - 9 plans for 2009: Get admitted --> CHECK!, Melbourne --> CHECK!, Tokyo --> CHECK!, At least have a plan to spend a year in London --> CHECK!, Buy a property --> CHECK!, Get some sort of payrise --> CHECK!, Find ----- and ---- a boyfriend/girlfriend --> I don't really know who the hell I'm talking about here but you know, I hope everyone that wants one did, and everyone that didn't will, That elusive LV --> (heh. heh.), Be content! --> this is a work in progress, this one.

Haha SO I DIDN'T DO SO BADLY AFTER ALL!

Eugoogalie #4

Kate Monster died on 30 December 2010.

She is now buried next to the other three predeceased mice in my front garden.

It was a bit sad because Kate Monster was always a very little mouse. She was attacked upon arrival by the furry tail-less mouse and never really seemed to recover. We bought another cage and thought perhaps she could spend some time there to recover but I suppose she didn't really have any other mouse companions and must have been quite lonely since after we separated her we didn't really let her mix with the other mice at all due to severe cuts all over her skin.

Kate Monster started looking seriously hunchbacked and her spine stuck out in an odd way. She stopped exercising regularly and when she ran she actually looked like she was having difficulty because of the jut of her spinal column. She in fact ceased moving very much, and mostly stayed curled up in a small ball under some tissue. She was a bit helpless and defenceless and couldn't stand up straight enough to drink from the drip bottle so we had to put in a small waterbowl.

And then she died...

I hope Kate Monster died in peace and that she didn't feel too much pain while alive.

R.I.P. Kate Monster who lived not very long at all. [20/12/09 - 30/12/09]

I'm so going to Paris.

The more I see the Speedy Damier the more I like it; just can't decide whether to get the 30 or 35.

So today I went on the Paris LV website and checked out the specs and to my utter disbelief:

IT COSTS 460 EUROS!

That's 750 dollars!

WHY WOULD I BUY LV ANYWHERE ELSE BUT PARIS! (crosses fingers that I will still have 750 bucks spare when it comes time to go to Paris next year!)
