The more photo-friendly of the two turkeys gets a Presidential pardon and a full life at a children's petting zoo; the other one gets eaten. If the Oscars were like that, I'd watch.

Tales courtesy of Florida's senior citizens: You can't beat 'em.

We're boarding the plane to FL when this old lady comes and sits in the seat next to mine.  She's shaking a little bit in her hands, and she's got that happy-yet-sort-of-confused expression on her face.  I deduce she is slightly senile.  This hypothesis is confirmed when she leans in real close to me, smiling like she's about to impart a big secret, and says: "I have twenty pounds of ham in my carry-on."

In other news, I'm comfortably in FL.  It's warm without being hot, which is perfect.  I'm trying my best to work and get applications done but it's so hard when it's so NICE all the time.  I still have to do Macalester, Northwestern (who, by the way, has FAR too many essays), Harvard, and Wesleyan.  PBBBBTH to college applications.

Amanda (Wolin, not Metviner) not only got into Columbia, but they're giving her a $150,000 scholarship.  I'm still kinda in shock.  I'm also kinda in shock over the Nip/Tuck season finale.  HOLY SHIT AHHHHH!!!!!  I was not mentally prepared for that episode.

I watched Hercules on Disney last night, and I have officially added it to my holiday wish list.  It's a lot funnier now that I'm a teenager and get all the jokes put in for the adults.  AND I placed the voice of Hades: it's James Woods!  I <3 James Woods.  He's good in everything I see/hear him in.

Taking a page from Michael:

You've got to say, 'I'm a HUMAN BEING, Goddamnit! My life has VALUE!' So I want you to get up now. I want all of you to get up out of your chairs. I want you to get up right now and go to the window. Open it, and stick your head out, and yell,'I'M AS MAD AS HELL, AND I'M NOT GOING TO TAKE IT ANYMORE!'

Question:
Would you be in favor of legalizing gay marriage?

DeStefano:
Yes, absolutely.  Because in Connecticut our laws convey legal rights that are not otherwise available unless you are married.  And it seems to me that you shouldn't deny rights to our citizens based on their gender, sexual preference, race, or anything else.

Malloy:
I said this long ago, that we need to treat all of our citizens equally and fairly... First step, civil unions.  Ultimately allowing people to express themselves through marriage, if and when that passes the legislature.  Let me assure you I will sign that legislation.  I believe this is a civil rights movement.  I believe that this state leads the rest of the nation in moving in that direction...  I have fought side by side with advocates, I will continue to do that and I look forward to signing this bill.

I love my representatives.  Damn straight it's a civil rights movement.
