| Hey all! I'm back! I know it's been almost two months. I'm so sorry. Moving to Dallas has kept me busy. In a good way. The doctors here are great. I'm actually sleeping! And I'm taking classes again. Oh, and I'm taking a fun pottery throwing class, which I'm not half bad at - if I do say so myself. Plus after meeting lots and lots of strange people, I'm finally meeting people who are fun and more like me (much much more liberal). I even went to a pretty crazy bachelorette party the weekend before Thanksgiving that was a total blast. (If you want details on that you'll have to email me.) He he he... Anyway, life is looking up for me these days. Which it's about time. Oh and I got to see my boy Rob Thomas in concert and of course drooled through the entire thing. Sigh... I bought this awesome t-shirt that has a fine picture of him on the front and is SUPER soft. I joked about making it my blankie so that I could sleep with Rob every night. ;) But, who am I kidding? I've worn that sucker like 10 times already. Antigone Rising was the opening act. I suspect they're going to make it big time. They're a totally female band and they kick some serious @$$. I actually tracked them down and all five of them signed my cd and the cd front cover slip that I bought there. It was hysterical too, because before the concert I was talking about how they were an all female band and I thought that was pretty cool and explaining to someone that was with us that they weren't like the Spice Girls (no Jill and Kara...I'm not knocking them). I was just saying that they actually play their instruments and stuff...anyway, because the concert fell close to Halloween, they were dressed up. And guess who they were dressed up as? The Spice Girls!!!! It was sooo funny. It's too bad I couldn't find Rob, because I would have had him sign everything I owned. My jeans, my t-shirt, you name it.... but we can't have it all. I'll run into him one of these days-and faint! LOL Okay, kids, I've got to wrap it up, cuz I have to run. But, I hope all of you are doing well. I miss you all of you guys!
p.s. I guess everything isn't totally looking up for me these days. My grandad had a stroke when he was in the hospital to have knee surgery. And it's been really tough on my family and me. But he's a real fighter and keeps getting better everyday. I just HATE seeing him so helpless. I know that no one likes to be helpless. But if you knew this man. You'd understand that it's like ten times as hard for him. Especially someone his age. He's so active and involved in so much stuff. However, like I said he's getting so much better everyday. He's a real fighter. Anyway, I can't leave the blog on a depressing note. Although, I don't know why crummy stuff always seems to happen to my family around the holidays. It actually makes me kind of depressed around the holidays now. Anyone got any suggestions to get me back in the holiday groove?
Okay, I promised not to leave the blog on a depressing note. Sooo, here's something exciting. Last night I went out to eat with some friends at a place that we got lasagna (sp?) two huge pieces of garlic bread AND a drink with free refills for two bucks WITH tax. It was awesome and the food was scrumptious! | | |
| So everybodies been harping at me that I haven't posted in a long time. Well, here I am. Happy? And I'm even making the post available for the entire public. Not that I've made any protected posts lately either. However, again, if you want to be on that list. You just need to comment on one of these posts. I forget easily people, so I'm sorry to the people who have emailed me and I haven't added you. Not that any of you ever leave comments though. So eager to read, but you don't want anyone else to know. LOL Okay, so I probably need to talk about something else, since I'm guessing that no one will let this qualify as an actual post. Here goes...
In the classical drawing class I'm taking right now we have to draw the person sitting across from us. Do you know how intimidating that is? For one, you know they are scrutinizing every detail of your face (aaahhhh) and for another you feel like you have to be able to really draw them well or they'll be offended. And to make matters worse she gives us like five minutes to do it in. FIVE MINUTES! One of the projects I'm working on for the class right now I've already spent three plus hours on and am no where near finished. Anyway, it all worked out. I did a fairly decent job of at least capturing her likeness and she didn't feel the need to draw everyone of my flaws. We walked away friends. :) My professor wants me to sign up for the next course in the series, but I don't know. I'm learning a lot from the classical approach, but I feel like I'm barely grasping it. Classical drawing is a lot different than any other drawing class I've taken. Okay, so now that everyone is bored with my discussion of drawing class. I will move on...
I'm reading an awesome book right now. It's called The Other Boleyn Sister. It's historical fiction, but it's just so good. I've always been fascinated with that time period anyway and the book has tons of cultural history incorporated into a very captivating fictional plot.
For some reason one of our neighbors likes to come out on his balcony in the middle of the day (on weekends) in nothing but his underwear. Or at least that what it appears to be-- I don't look that closely. Anyway, he just stands there and smokes a cigarette. I want to shout at him, "Dude maybe you don't mind that you're out in the courtyard for all of us to see you practically naked, but I DO!" Ack! I doubt I'll need to do this though, because we have neighbors that I'm sure have already complained to the office. The pool is in our courtyard and there's all kinds of people around, including kids sometimes.
Guess who I'm going to see October 30?!?! And no guessing Kara, because you already know. ;)

| Okay those of you who had problems viewing my protected sites....shouldn't anymore. I accidently marked them private instead of protected. My bad. Sorry. If you still can't see the "test" entry, then you need to make sure I have your xanga name on my list. (By the way Kara, my grammar and punctuation expert, when do you use who and when do you use whom? This is one grammar rule I can NEVER remember.) | | |
| Hey all! A lot of my posts will be protected from now on. (Reasons will come in future protected posts.) However, chances are I don't mind or I'd love for you to read my posts. So send me an email if I haven't already got you on my list or if you're brave enough (and few of my friends are) leave me a comment. (To view protected entries you just have to make sure you are logged in to xanga and that I have you on my list under your xanga account name.) You'll know if you're seeing the protected ones because there will be an entry that just says, "test." Wow, way too many ( )'s. Dude, I'm too tired to spell ( )'s. Oh, here's something I find interesting at least. I had NO IDEA how crazy the younger kids are about this xanga stuff. MAN! I use my blog/read other friends blogs to keep up with everyones' lives now that so many of my friends/family members live like a zillion places. But, these kids put us to shame. And they see each other all the time! But, it's cool. I also am apparently blog lingo challenged. You have to use diff't spellings for very basic words and stuff. It's seriously a new language. And they all use * next to everything. Which I don't get. What does that mean? Also, I know for a fact that many of them chat online all day in this lingo and then can turn around and produce an A paper. It's crazy. If I did that...I'd be writing papers that looked something like this, "So like, sum of my fr!ends* 'nd I wen don 2 da stoooore and it wuz carazie!" Anyway, I'm not trying to rag on the young ones. I happen to have a great deal of respect for some teensters. Like my cousins. But boy, does it make me feel old. | | |
