| trip to atlanta summary....
last time i flew on delta, i wanted to get a chicken sandwich because it was created by todd english. this time i shelled out the 8 dollars and bought one. it was eh...he would've lost on that top chef airplane food challenge. although cj's brocolini probably still would've been worst. i got to the airport and picked up my rental car. they asked if i needed a gps system. i thought about it and since i mapquested everything, i thought i'd save my company the extra 30 bucks. although hotel is only 11 minutes from airport, the city was doing weekend paving on the freeway. and that meant that 3 lanes on each side was closed as well as on and off ramps. of course, my exit was closed. i figured i could drive past my exit and get back on the other side, but the weekend paving on the other side made it look like a parking lot. unluckiliy, i didnt get the gps, but luckily, the rental car company gave me a map and i have google maps on my phone. 1.5 hours later, i made it to the hotel (not because i got lost, but the traffic was that bad). after checking in to my hotel, i went across the street into the cnn center to have dinner. the chick fil a (something that shannon has been telling me to try since the last trip to georgia) was closed, so i ate at a mexican restaurant. after i returned to the hotel, crazy work stuff exploded and i worked for 2 hours. of course, my room was right under the rooftop bar so the loud music continued until 2:30 am. they brought up ear plugs for me but i have ear issues and dont like stuff in my ears. i asked to switch rooms for the next night because i was told that it would be open until midnight the next night.
next morning, i went to eat brunch at cafe 458, a place recommended by yelp. they were on tbs's movie and a makeover so it looked really cute inside. i had fish, shrimp, and grits for breakfast. it was not the ideal brunch, but it was good. then off to work. the talent was 2 hours late. good thing the photographer and his crew were awesome because we all talked (and ate) for 2 hours while waiting for him. the talent was a dj from atlanta and i had to ride in the car with him the whole day. it was kinda weird. we finally finished at 9 and i went back to the hotel, got my new room, and at at the maxim steak house in my hotel. what's funny about atlanta restaurants is that they're all empty. every restaurant i went to, there were only 2 tables occupied. you don't have to rush to get places to "beat the crowd" because there is no crowd. i actually wanted to go to chick fil a, but theyre closed on sundays. this steakhouse is quite fancy so it was weird to be eating alone with only one other couple (who was very lovey dubby) in the restaurant. since i had already snacked, i wasn't hungry at all. i just wanted to try a new restaurant. i had 2 plates of appetizers which were more than enough...kobe sliders with teriyaki bbq sauce and caprese salad with fried green tomatoes, basil, mozzerella, balsamic and oil, and a red pepper jam. it was a good dinner.
next morning, i woke up at 7:30. it was a nice sleep but my plane was departing at 8:45. i was sooooooo pissed that the wake up call didn't wake me up at 5. this was literally the first time i didn't set a back up alarm. i threw everything into my bag (didn't use the bathroom), changed clothes quickly and ran out. i checked out and i sped to the airport. thank goodness that the freeway traffic was the other way. i made it to the rental car place at 7:50 and into the airport at 8. at the security checkpoint, the line was long so i asked the man if i would make it and he said yes. i finally made it to the gate and they were boarding zone 5 (i was zone 9). i ran to the bathroom and took a swig of mouthwash and splashed water on my face and got on the plane. i have never cut it that close in my life. unfortunately, there was no time to get a ny times xword puzzle or a chick fil a sandwich. stupid chick fil a.... on the way back, i sat next to the bathroom. everytime the bathroom opened, the scent of the air freshener overwhelmed me (at least it wasnt another scent). i'm sure you all know how allergic i am to everything, especially artificial perfume scents. my nose started running halfway into the flight. when i got back, i got to my car and got ready for work in the car. i then had to work another 9 hours in the office. boooo....
| i haven't blogged in a while because i've been working about 21 days straight. i'm so tired. i lost track of days, holidays, and most importantly...tv shows. here are some happenings of late:
•i got a real job. no more freelancing. it's very bittersweet. i'll miss styling, but i'm gonna do test shoots and work on the weekends. i'll be pretty pooped. it was a decision between freedom and independence, and stability and money.
•i'm so glad david cook won. not only was he the best singer, but i really think that me and him would be good friends. i feel like we have very similar personalities. i think we're both super nerdy and geeky. we're also smug and think we're better than others, but we don't let that show.
•scrubs finale was good, but it didn't make sense that kelso was back. i hope abc wraps it up appropriately. it deserves a good send off. office was quite good. lots of unexpected turns. lost and desperate housewives have been pretty solid shows as well. now that tv is over, i'll be stuck watching the remaining episodes of top chef, american gladiators, and lots of repeats. at least project runway and kathy griffin start soon.
-celeb sighting...carson filming that naked body show on tlc on los feliz.
| if you're wondering what turk and carla said during the unsubtitled part at the end:
Turk: Like them [gestures at JD and Elliot]. I'll bet you that in two weeks they'll be back together again. Carla: Do you think so? Some people won't like that. Turk: [shrugs] Yeah.

| hunky idol is gone. i can't believe michael john's was voted off idol. but he's so hot and talented and sporty and australian! what is wrong with america? how are syeshia and kristy still there? i have a theory that the idol who performs first always ends up in the bottom three or gets voted off. it happens every week. i think it's because the show is so freaking long that no one remembers who went first unless they were completely amazing! except archuletta cuz he has millions of teeny archulettaphiles. damn that archuletta! | | |
