Growing up??

A topic came up today, about us putting up a mask or face in front of strangers, in front of people who do not mean so much to us. I have come to understand why sometimes we choose to be cordial to colleagues and acquaitances because they do not mean so much to us. Sure, I mean it sounds understandable, but do we all need to do this? Is this part of growing up??

I have always felt my dad treats his colleagues and friends better than he treats my mom. They still do quarrel for silly little things (although less now) when, in the same circumstance, I have noticed that he doesn't treat his friends that same way, often tolerating them. Today, I have come to see that he might in fact love my mom more and hence have such actions, I have come to see that I might have missed out this whole view point. Enlightening as it may be, I'm still a little confused.

Do we really hurt the ones that are closest to us because we care? Are we really treating "the rest" better because they don't mean so much to us and that we need to maintain cordial relations? Shouldn't it be the other way around?

Will I be like that next time too?

The Big Things and the Little Things

Yesterday we danced. Sure the birds didn't sing, rainbows didn't come out form nowhere, nor did the world stop turning, but for me, time stopped for those 4 minutes I had BB in my arms. It was nothing fancy, my first time slow dancing with someone, and it was around her room too. Now I can understand why people like dancing, you know, not the disco kind, it gives two people a chance to swirl, and with the right person, time stops for the both of you, the surroundings don't matter as the two people swirl  around. Thanks dear for the dance.

If you ever have the time, do dance with your loved ones.

Today, I brought BB to a fusion restaurant, gave her a riddle to solve before I would bring her there, but of course she never did solve it and I brought her there anyway...haha... it goes something like this. (I can almost feel stoopid Da Jie laughing and critising my joke already.)

"What kind of food is Chinese, Western and Italian but at the same time is not all of the above?"

Answer: Fusion Food!

"If you meet a loner, no matter what they tell you, it's not because they enjoy solitude. It's becuse they have tried to blend into the world before, and people continue to disappoint them."

A Day in JB

Had a simple day in JB today, tricked BB into something, dunno if she's going to blog about it. Today was a very good example of something simple being beautiful, sure we didn't do much, but spent the day talking and eating together only, and I think the long journey back from JB to Singapore was pretty interesting too. *words not coming to my head*

This a late thank you to Jiahui for his treating me to a birthday treat at the Manhattan Fish Market, a place in Plaza Sing that is really like Fish & Co. The menu is 80% alike! Thanks for remembering man!

To my BB also, when I get the photos from you then I blog about it k!
