| Throw it up!
The 2005 National Champions Texas Longhorns. What a great season, there was a consensus all year that the team was going to do it. First there was Vince and the Rose Bowl 2005 win over Michigan, probably the 2nd most highly regarded program in the country behind Notre Dame, what a game that was. Thought that was good...nothing. Next comes the 2005 season. There was a vibe, an inkling all year that anything less than the crystal football was unnacceptable.
First, the entire season and hopes of BCS contention came on September 10th in Columbus, Ohio. Victory over two Big 10 national powerhouses in 8 months. What a thriller. Along with the beginning of this season was the question of the running game. But you just had a feeling, I never warmed up to Selvin and might not yet but with Jamaal Charles breaking 175 on Rice, a freshman who said he would make Texas fans forget about Adrian Peterson did just that. Breakouts from no name receiver Billy Pittman and the nicest guy on the universe award winner David Thomas, a guy who is said to be too small to play in the NFL. I think he and VY should share the MVP, he was waiting for a big game all season what a guy.
Also, I always said that Michael Griffin was the best player on the defense, what a game also. The interception and grip of tackles made a difference, he is great I can't wait to see what he does as the likely captain of the 2006 D. Speaking of which the question of whether or not Vince comes back will be looming for the next 10 days. Honestly, I would love for him to come back. We're only losing 2 men on the O Line but the backup tight ends both have hands, Jamaal, RT, Selvin, Limas, and Billy, and Quan are all back. Watch out Fiesta Bowl, it's a significantly shorter drive than LA, I will be there. The defense will look sharp as well, I am confident. Robison, Crowder, Okam, Orakpo...lots of bloody noses there. Killebrew hitting, Griffin Brothers, Ross (sorry Scott you were right all along), and Tarell (hope you're OK).
Hey, if Vince does go pro, I hope he goes to Houston, what a great opportunity. But think about this...the Texans are so horrible they will in high likelihood have the #1 pick again next year...Reggie who? The Heisman winner's (can I say) shitty performance really overshadowed his year and Vince's shadow is humungous at this point. I think I can say I will never see an athletic performance quite like last night, and what a time to experience it, when I am a sudent. I think I can die happy now. The probability of winning this game WHILE you are actually a student is amazing, I love this school. I said it to some of you before "They fid'n to remember this game"

| This new weblog entry sucks.
Studying, or not, for my economics final. It sucks, I don't think I can make a C even if i tried. I couldn't make one on the two midterms I highly doubt I will even come close on this comprehensive final. Poop. It's beginning to get ri-goddamn-diculous in here I am sofa king tired. OK here it goes I'm going to bed, my studying is weak, I hate econ and Dr. Sandy Marble, he looks like Darrell Hammond and is NOT funny. I miss Heather, I'm tired, I want 5 pm tomorrow to happen. King Kong was good. Annen, out.
| Wow lack of updates. I don't think anyone is upset.
Since this journal has recently turned into an Aggie-Longhorn hatefest last month I thought I may update and say that we did beat Aggy and Colorado and are headed for the Rose Bowl. A tragedy in its greatness, tickets are about as hard to get ahold of as Kellen is running the ball. So, with my high levels of Hollywood clout I'm having Sean Astin's publicist find some tickets. You laugh, but it's true. Anyways I've got a plane ticket and am hoping that I find out if I get tix earlier than my departure time so I can reschedule the flight if necessary.
VY did great with the awards week, ABC/Cingular player of the year and 1st team All-American over Leinart. Davey O'Brien quarterback of the year award over Leinart, and Maxwell most outstanding player over Bush and Leinart. Pretty impressive considering he was heavily unfavored in each. Didn't get the Heisman but it's all good. Vince had more of a fluid and by-the-books success story this year as opposed to his flashy, have to save the game all by myself trend of last year. Hey, I would take a trip to the Natl Championship anyday over the Heisman, people say that's what separates Vince from people like Cedric Benson because Ced said (haha) that he would prefer the Heisman over an OU victory. The games this year, except Aggy, and the OSUs were one half games. And when Vince won those games the press said, "Hey look at all of these things that are wrong with Vince Young and UT." But, when USC pulled out their 4-5 squeakers at the end they say "Oh my God, this just is a prime example of the championship caliber of the Trojans, mmmmm I love Reggie Bush" I think we deserve more respect for the close games, and it shows that Vince can attain comparable stats to Leinart throwing, even Bush running, in 9 games only playing the first half, and when he has to stay in the game and grind out the win, it should show his focus and athletic ability that he is able to sleep through games AND grind them out in the trenches of the 4th quarter. Bush is a great player, if Vince comes back there is no question he is the Heisman favorite, the voters love the flash, Vince doesn't have to run anymore, he is a QB, but then he'll take it for the TD if he has to.
night yall, notice i didnt talk about finals because it hurts
| Mack Brown (on OSU game): "You look at the first half over the last 4,5 years and they've jumped out to a lead every time. Part of it may be because they've got so many players from the state of Texas."
